italian food and the feeling here is very good. Great spot for an appetite of any size. Staff treated us so kindly. Prices that are reasonable. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area. More...

We experienced wonderful service with our dinner club Monday night. They offered up an intimate space for our board meeting, which was before the larger dinner networking event. We were able to enjoy happy hour cocktails which were priced very nice. Lidia's offers two options for up to 100-person private dining events, and Mary Anne McNeish has been a delight to work with as we planned this event! We were provided with a microphone for announcements. Our Captain for the night was Joshua who provided the most excellent service. The team delivered well above what they promised. Wine and never-ending pasta flowed. The pasta trio was the perfect option for the group, with a perfectly executed Cesar salad to begin the meal. There is nothing like fresh-made pasta. I have been here previously, and have enjoyed the regular dining room with a large party of 10, and with a smaller group of six before. Each time I have been here, the service and food has been perfect. More...

Setting up a reservation was quick and easy via their website. Plenty of parking available and the building is attractive with good aesthetics. Inside is nice as well with an open style dining area that makes you feel like you are in a huge medival great hall. While it looks impressive and makes it easy to spot your party the noise level is quite loud. Our party had difficulty hearing each other speak due to the level of background noise in the room. This was the only downside as all of our dishes were plentiful and delicious. More...

Good food. Really enjoyed the triple pasta special. This option allowed me to taste some things I wouldn't have normally tried. It was all very good. Although I did not like the muscles (personal choice) The atmosphere is great! Hard to believe that this building was once a warehouse. If you are looking for a nice place to eat when celebrating an anniversary or birthday this is a good choice. It is not cheap but not outrageous either. I would definitely go again! More...

One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City. Beautiful decor, good service and great food. You have absolutely cannot go wrong with the daily 'pasta trio' and there are many other unique dishes on the menu to try. Caesar salad is always a nice starter and they have some creative desserts as well. Do make a reservation. More...

Great Italian restaurant. Our server Hollie was exceptional offering samples of wines to taste to allow us to make a good choice. We had one of the chef’s specials. Very good with offerings to refill our plates with more. Wonderful dining experience although can be noisy. Worth returning to. I ONLY get the pick 3 pasta because why not? When I really want to splurge, this is the restaurant for that. There are other nice Italian places in town, but this is the real deal for atmosphere and fresh pasta. More...

Lidia's is as good today as it was when it opened. Which is why it's just as popular. The Pasta Trio is their signature, and is served table-side from a skillet. Wide selection of Italian wines.Atmosphere is in the historic Freight House near the train tracks. Normally that wouldn't evoke elegance but this place works well for a business dinner for 10 or a couples dinner for two. More...

This has been a bucket list item for my wife and I to go to one of Lidia's restaurants. We both tried the pasta trio sampler. It was good but I wish I got something else because it was a pasta and cream sauce overload. I was surprisingly disappointed with the bread. It was cold dry and not any different that any casual resteraunt would serve. I guess I was expecting fresh hot Italian bread, wouldn't you? All in all, we were glad to have tried it. I can find food just as good elsewhere for half the price. More...

I have enjoyed Lidia's since the restaurant opened, going several times a year. The atmosphere & appearance is fantastic. Upon entering to leaving the staff are warm & caring to make your stay pleasant . The food is exactly of the region of Italy & the best in Kansas City. The bone in prime rib is one of the best in KC. Service has been excellent from 2- 28 family members & all complimentary. I can't say enough on how good Lidia's is. Deffinately a Crown Gem of the city. More...

Phenomenal! There is no other word. Our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. His recommendations were spot on. Bartender perfectly executed our cocktails. And let's talk about the pasta trio - simply stunning! It had been awhile since we had been to Lidia's and I have no idea what took us so long to go back. I would enthusiastically recommend Lidia's to anyone! More...

What a lovely dining experience! I expected flavor, to be certain, but the attentiveness of the staff combined with a relaxed overall feel left me delightfully satisfied. The price point is a touch high for casual dining but is justified by the obvious care taken in preparing each dish. To top it off my server had me taste 4 different wines to make sure I had a glass that I truly enjoyed. Bravo! More...

I sincerely wanted to give Lydia's a 5 star rating.... but I can not. I can't lie to the readers of this review.

The food is BLAND. Exceptionally BLAND.

The 4 star rating is for:
Welcoming and friendly hosts
An excellent server. She didn't mention her name unfortunately but she was perfect, attentive but not a neiusans; knowledgeable personable and pretty which never hurts.
Overall restaurant staff was friendly (everyone smiled).
The QUALITY of the food was superior. It was obvious fresh ingredients were used. No reheating nothing was greasy. Someone was in that kitchen actually cooking (just not well or with any salt) JUST SAYING.
Lastly the ambiance was lovely. Exposed brick beautiful light fixtures, lots of texture and color. Just beautiful place inside.

I personally won't be back because none of those things are why I go to a restaurant, I prefer great tasting food and that just wasn't the case at least not tonight a Saturday night . Oh well, great experience anyway my husband is such a charmer. AND if you read this whole review, you might as well "like" it.

Maybe it's better when Lidia is cooking. Everything was just so so. I've been wanting to visit one of Kansas City's top Italian restaurants. The space is beautiful, with wood everywhere. It's huge and cozy at the same time. The gigantic fireplace is awesome. The hosts are very nice. The waiter Matthew did leave a lot to be desired. He paid no attention to our table, resulting in pasta not being replenished, drinks not being refilled and not asking us how the food was. We had the pasta trio, which needed a little more flavor. The braised pork shoulder, which was basic. More...

They choose high quality ingredients and spices. Food done with integrity!
What a menu with an elegant choice of wines. Saturday and Sunday they have brunch available truly the best. Groups are welcome ,and yet it's still so romantic. The wait staff is professional and prepared to take care of you.
The executive staff know and clearly understand how to make your dining experience unique. You will find all the bells and whistles at Lydia's.
Handicap access, high chairs, children's menu, free parking. $$ You will love it.

Well there is a lot of hype about this place, unfortunately they did not have there A game on when we can for Easter Sunday lunch.

Ordered the lamb, which came out cold missing the spring vegetables and pesto sauce. Sent back second attempt lamb was cooked still missing the spring vegetables with a tiny amount of sauce.

Left disappointed for spending $30 on something I can make 10 times better.

But they do get a bonus star for my water glass always being full.

The atmosphere is great, beautiful place for dinning however not the best if seeking for intimate and quite dinner out. The room is energetic and noisy due to how packed it is. Main reasons for taking points off was due to our table reservation for 9 people not being ready, food orders confused, and the price the food. I ordered the pasta trio $35 which comes with unlimited pasta, Caesar salad, and choice of desert. I was overall under whelmed by the pasta the best part of the dish was the cesear salad. My husband ordered a steak $55 and he loved it. Overall it was a good family night. Might go back again but will definitely order something different for myself. Staff was both friendly and helpful :) More...

Superior Italian food at a great location.

This place is fancy and the food is too and I mean it in a good way. It is a bit pricey but not so much that you have to wait for special occasions. Pasta is always served al dente as it should be and their sauces are divine. Try their pork shoulder sandwich and delectable deserts.

Reservations recommended and also recommend leaving small children behind.
