Kilen is absolutely amazing!!! I would recommend him over any other photographer any day. His work is simply outstanding! Very talented . He's such a goofball and made our engagement photo session very relaxed. He played music to lighten the mood, and made jokes the entire time. We never once felt awkward or weird. He was very open about his life and his career. He really takes the time to get to know each couple he works with. He's very quick to respond. The only reason why we aren't using him as our wedding photographer is because we are having a destination wedding! Or else it would be no questions asked to have him be our wedding photographer. Kilen was recommended by a team member at the Chamber of Commerce. He introduced himself at the beginning of our event, took my wave and "yes, please, take pictures," and slid into the rhythm of the event seamlessly.
Once we had that conversation, he disappeared into the crowd and I didn't see him again for the remainder of the evening. The photos he sent to us the next week were lovely -- capturing the fun and humor of the event with candid and posed shots. We were thrilled to have to opportunity to work with him, and look forward to doing so again at our next event.

I met Kilen through a friend and was super excited when he was willing to help take pictures of our Girls Ultimate Frisbee Clinic!
He jumped through all the necessary hoops (background check, sending over previous photos, etc.) in record time and showed up on time to the clinic. He was super easy to work the day of and got us the photos within 3 days! The guy is a rockstar! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It comes down to two main things. Trust and Direction.
I can't tell you how many couples I have been in front of where they tell me "we are nervous in front of a camera!" or "Do we have to pose?" You could be a photographer with the most amazing portfolio, Jaw dropping images. However, if you don't make the couple comfortable in front of the camera I guarantee it will show in images. You have to be personable and relatable.
Usually within the first three minutes of shooting the couple is so at ease, laughing and having a good time. This is partially from the energy I get when I am doing what I love. I truly love what I do! But the other is through direction. Most people are not models, we don't like posing and most of the time we feel ridiculous. Instead of posing you, I like to direct. Setting a scene or picture in your mind and then letting you act it out. It takes your mind off the camera. Shooting in this way produces the most natural and authentic photos!

-What type of style are you drawn to?
-How many photos are you looking for?
-Are you doing a first look?
-Are the Bride and Groom getting ready at the same location or different?

Honestly wedding photography for me is the perfect ball of everything I enjoy in life. Connecting and meeting new people that I would of never met otherwise. Documenting and capturing one of the most important times in your life. Being able to let loose on the dance floor with you both!

What inspired you to start your own business?
Odds are you probably haven't met another Kilen before.
I was born in Vancouver, WA and am an avid fan of the Portland Trail Blazers.
Too short to play but tall enough to watch sort of guy.
I do what I do because I love creating. Taking what people would view as an ordinary moment and turning it into something extraordinary. This ignites an energy inside of me I have never felt with anything else.
It’s so much more than taking photos for you and saying goodbye. My goal is for you to feel like you gained a friend, rather than an acquaintance. You feel comfortable rather than out of place. Someone who can tell your story exactly how you would of remembered it. Passing it down for generations! Freezing every feeling, letting you go back and relive it all over again. This is why I love what I do!

Why should our clients choose you?
I believe finding the right photographer for YOU is broken down into five categories.
1. Trust -Personality's mesh! Meeting beforehand to make sure it will be a good fit.
2. Communication-Somone who is punctual, organized and answers concerns you didn't know you had.
3. Direction-How you make the couple feel comfortable in front of the camera and produce natural images.
4. Style-Do you like a more dark/moody style? Maybe Bright/airy? Or maybe you like the more clean natural look.
5. Uniqueness- Someone who is always pushing their work. Continually investing in education. Loves the craft.
