I started training with Renea at the end of June 2017 under her 90 Day Transformation program. When I came in, I had little to no experience with free weights, could barely do one pushup with bad form, and struggled to run even half a mile. I had been to the gym on and off throughout the years, but mainly used machines. After working with Renea for those 90 Days, I can confidently say that I am in much better shape than I was when I began. I felt noticeably stronger after the first few weeks, and I could feel my endurance improving not long after. As of today, I can complete around 10 pushups with good form, run a full mile, and my posture has improved significantly. That is not to say that those pushups or mile are easy, but progress is made in consistency, and Renea has been a huge help in getting to where I am today.The actual space is fairly small, with just three rooms. One has a weight rack, another has cardio equipment (a treadmill, an elliptical, and a stationary bike), and the larger space where the majority of the training will take place has dumbbells and battle ropes. It never felt crowded while I was training, as Renea doesn’t schedule more than three people at the same time (and most of the time it will be you and maybe one other person). I will say that there is not a lot of equipment, though I heard Renea mention adding more. However, since there weren’t a lot of other people at one time, I never had to wait to use any of the equipment while I was training, and Renea was very creative with how she used the equipment for the exercises.I highly recommend Island Jam Fitness, especially for those who are inexperienced with exercise like I was. Renea was able to take the unfamiliar and intimidating world of fitness, and make it much more approachable. I was able to lose 10 lbs of net weight, lost inches an average of 2 inches all around my body (I’m in need of new clothes now), and feel so much better than I did before. For those of you who are looking to become active (either again or for the first time), but are feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information out there or don’t know where to start, do yourselves a favor and check out Island Jam Fitness. I started training at Island Jam Fitness about 15 months ago. Through the plan that was generated for me specifically, I can honestly say that I am in the best shape I have been in for at least the last 25 years. My plan was not just pumping weights or running on a tread mill. It also includes nutritional education which I have now embraced. Clients often feel that not eating or eating very little will help them lose weight subsequently, the opposite of that is eating too much. We will help you with developing and forming habits, understanding how to eat, on eating frequent meals, the benefits of food and its importance in the weight-loss process.

By helping you to understand the process involved with exercise and nutrition, you become more aware and often tend to make more of an effort to change.

Services

One to one 45 minute session that provide the individualized attention you need help you with improving your health and fitness. Your trainer will help you stay motivated, hold you accountable, and help you train smarter while addressing your specific fitness goals. To keep you on track, you will have a training program that works around your schedule and budget. Additionally, your trainer will conduct ongoing fitness and nutrition assessment to help keep you on track.

Want more out of your workout, enjoy a variety of exercises that will strengthen your entire body and improve cardiovascular health. You increase your strength and challenge your major muscle groups using weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Get ongoing fitness assessments, nutrition and activity accountability. You and your partner will be motivated to push past your boundaries in a fun and energizing setting, as both of you work towards your goals.

Classes offered Tuesdays & Thursdays - 6:30 pm to 7: 30 pm.

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, this is for you. With our 60-minute Jam Sessions, we combine cardio, strength and core workout into one great class. Get it all in one workout and see results fast. Get your heart-pounding, muscles pumping, total body workout designed to produce a stronger, fitter you. You will get a full body conditioning with a mix of strength and cardio intervals.
