Heather is FANTASTIC!! She recently took photos of our wedding and she did an amazing job. It was raining like I've never seen in San Diego the day of my wedding. Needless to say I was a little bit down about it. She managed to get us all smiling and out on the beach and she took some truly stunning photographs. She also found some of the most amazing places to take pictures! She knew my venue better than I did! I also loved that she took tons of great photos of my guests-something I don't always see other photographers doing. She also has a more natural look to her photography that I love-she doesn't Photoshop everyone into looking like porcelain dolls with unnatural features. I almost have no words for this. How I feel about my whole wedding photography experience is really indescribable.  A year and a half before my wedding, I went to a local bridal bazaar, where I found Heather. It was an instant connection to her photos for me, but she was outside my budget so I moved on. I followed her on Facebook and Instagram and fell more in love with her style. Six months before our big day, I went back to the same bridal bazaar, determined to find a photographer that I could afford and whom I got along well with. We approached Heather's booth and my sister in law/maid of honor told me not to even go over because it would make me sad. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment because I just had to look. The photos spoke to me in the way that only your dream wedding photographer's can. In a twist of fate, I ended up talking with Heather and she offered to do my wedding for what I could afford. I cried. And it wouldn't be the last time. On my wedding day, I was brought to tears several times because of how absolutely incredible our vendors were, Heather especially. I felt an honest connection with her that make my photos that much more special. My wedding day was the most magical day of my life, and I owe a lot of that to her. Book her, you will not regret it. My wife and I are presently preparing our Poway home to become an Airbnb rental. We wanted our home to look its very best because most renters will make their lodging decision primarily of how the property looks in the photos. We originally thought to do the photo shoot ourselves with just our cell phones. While our shots would be just "okay" we really wanted to make sure we got the best pictures period...otherwise people would stay someplace else if ours did not stand out. Well...Heathers pictures came out...outstanding!! Not only did Heather get the right shots we asked for, she was very helpful in giving us advice of how each shot scene should be painstakingly prepared before she snapped the shutter. The instructions we gave her were followed closely and she expeditiously completed her work not only in my home but the beautiful photos that were delivered (she made each scene look better than it appeared in person!) soon after via her website.Heather has a positive attitude and is a quick thinker. It was a joy to work with her and look forward to referring her to our friends and to have her back for more additional work.We give her five stars. Where to even begin!! We met Heather at a wedding expo, and immediately fell in love not only with her beachy vibe that matched our dream wedding decor, but more so with her amazingly welcoming and bubbly personality. It certainly isn't easy for many couples to have a camera on them while gazing into each other's eyes, touching noses, or kissing--but Heather made us feel SO comfortable. She made a point to get to know us and our personalities, what we were comfortable with and what truly reflected "us." On top of making us feel comfortable and producing incredible quality photos both of our engagement and on the day of our wedding, Heather's experience and professionalism were so above and beyond anything we could have expected. She was on top of the timeline, helping bridesmaids get hair and makeup in the right place before snapping away, and even managing some of the vendors when they weren't sure of their roles! Wow...wow. Heather came as a recommendation from our hotel as an option for family photos on a big ol' vacation for the famn damily. I will say that the best part of the hotel, by far, was the recommendation of Heather. I have never seen an entire collection of photos as good as these. Perfect location. Perfect lighting. There was pure perfection every step of the way with Heather. She takes care in getting to know you, became familiar with everything prior to our wedding, demonstrated impecable manners while shooting, always with a smile, and delivered pictures I feel are far superior in composition and quality than anything I've ever seen. Heather is incredible!!! She was so helpful, caring, and extremely talented!! I had already hired a wedding photographer when I came across her photos and fell in love! Therefore, she helped me with a completely reasonable rate for these photos that I will forever cherish!! It was hot that day and I had barely eaten, in pain with my new heels, the place was super crowded and my fiancé doesn't love attention from strangers, but you would never know because she's that good!!  This by the way is my very first Yelp review and nobody is more deserving! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!
Heather is seriously AMAZING!! We met her at the Bridal Bazaar in Del Mar and she was super nice and friendly. I looked at so many different photographers, got quotes, compared styles, but overall I just kept gravitating toward Heather (Thank goodness!). I was dead set on having the same photographer for our engagement photos as wedding, so first we hired her to do our engagement session. She made us feel so comfortable and it was easy to work with her. Of course, we got our photos back and I was obsessed and immediately signed a contract for our wedding day! On the day of, she and her assistant were prompt and got right to work! They worked super well with our videographers (Heather recommended him from a previous job they did together). They were on their feet all day snapping pictures of everything that mattered (and things we missed because we were doing other things!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The only thing I was bummed about, was not getting photos of our cupcake/dessert table (but in her defense, I didn't even know it was set up out there until all the cupcakes were almost gone.. it was separate from our wedding cake and out by the bar) and they left before the sparklers. BUT we have our videography of that, so not all was lost ;)
I will definitely be hiring Heather to do any other photo ops (maternity/family) in the future! LOVE HER!!! More...

Heather Elise is a dynamic person and extremely talented photographer. She is so amazing at what she does and has an amazing personality that you truly love spending the day with her. My husband and I will be working with Heather for a lifetime. I've never seen such amazing photography and so artistic. People commented on our pictures and stated that they “looked like paintings” since it was that good.

Not only is her photography amazing and she is so talented, has the eye, responsive, high quality, prompt, timely, professional, but also she is an amazing person. I truly feel like her husband is a lucky man to be married to her because she rocks. Her positive and adaptable attitude makes the environment shine more. Everyone at our wedding says that Heather Elise was the best photographer they ever met. I have a feeling the rest of my friends and family, (my husbands brothers and soon to be wives will be interested in her services and they live in Boston!)

We truly can say that having the best photographer, talent and personality wise is the best choice you can do for your wedding day. Heather Elise is amazing. If yelp had the option of giving out 10 stars Heather would definitely be a deserved recipient of the high honor. From the very beginning she made me feel at ease. Not to mention the fact that I was a little rude in our first phone conversation because I had just found out our initial photographer scammed us. Not only did she remain professional but she also offered an initial consult in her home. That alone put me immediately at ease. Halfway through our engagement my now husband and I found out we were expecting and Heather was very willing to work with us on a new date. Again... She made that transition easy for us. A few weeks before the wedding, Heather volunteered to meet us at our house (since we had a backyard wedding in Ramona) to get a better feel for our special day vision. During our meeting we discussed at length wedding time lines, must have pictures with family etc. And the locations for our first look pictures. Heather was willing to travel to two locations for our fist look photographs. Our initial location was special since it was just the bride and groom at Balboa park. The second location was at old Poway park for pictures of the wedding party. As if that's not enough info on how fantastic this lady is, Heather stayed longer than she should have (we ran behind schedule thanks to traffic). After the wedding Heather met with us once more to go over pictures and she surprised us with little wedding gifts!! Her pictures were all amazing. The one thing that meant the most to me was that she listened to us, not just about wedding stuff, but also about what meant the most to us. Our dog is too active to be around a group of people, and Heather still snuck in a shot of her while she was at our neighbors house. When I saw those pictures I teared up because that proved that she cared for her clients. I would recommend Heather to anyone and will be using her again as our family continues to grow. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Heather - she undoubtedly contributed to how fun our wedding day was!!! We interviewed many photographers for months prior to hiring one, but as soon as I met Heather, I knew she would be the perfect addition to our perfect day! Heather replied so quickly to my inquiry. Her work was very impressive, so I wasn't surprised when we found that she was out of our price range, but she was willing to work with us to ensure we got the photos and number of photographers we desired for a very reasonable price! Heather was directive when she needed to be (with a rowdy bridal party!) and refused to let anything get in the way of our happiness and a perfect product. She was always smiling and made me feel like the most beautiful bride all day, even after a few hours of dancing next to the fireplace! Our family and guests loved her too, and she seemed to be in a million places at once! She and her team showed up promptly and she worked so well and professionally with our other vendors (our videographer, coordinator, DJ) to capture every moment and emotion perfectly. She is so much fun, has so many very creative ideas, and is very easy to work with! After the wedding, she completed the editing quickly, and we had our photos within a month.
