Childers Eatery is a neat place to eat. We went for brunch and I appreciated the atmosphere. Upscale and very pretty with loads of flowers out front and nice decor. They didn't offer straws. Yay! I had the lemon blueberry French toast and it was delicious!! I ate every bite. It was topped with fresh berries and whipped cream and special syrup on the side. Will definitely order again. That and a cup of coffee with hazelnut creamer and it was a great meal. More...

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast Friday morning. I had the harissa eggs benedict with salmon. I'm not a breakfast guy, but this was by far the most unique AMAZINGLY flavorful thing I have ever had for breakfast. The chef did an absolute work of art on this creation! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! The biscuits and gravy along with the bacon was really good as well. As for service, our waiter Andres was spot on, very polite and informative about the background of the restaurant thru small talk. Our bill was very reasonable and well worth every penny of it! Once again I highly recommend stopping by if you have an appetite for for something different with a great staff and atmosphere! More...

Good food to be certain, but a little on the pricey side.I had an omelette with hasbrowns and bread. It was a make your own omelette that was $6. 99 before even adding anything in terms of toppings. Everything you added cost extra, so when all was said and done it cost about $12.I didn't go crazy on what I chose, so it was a little disheartening considering that's what you usually pay for an omelette meal WITH 5 or 6 ingredients. Overall, I would recommend their food, but I think I'd rather go to One World Cafe or June Bug's Diner. More...

Food was great, very gourmet. I had the began waffle. If you have a picky kid, let the waitress know while ordering. My girl didn't like the chocolate, cherries and whipped cream on her teddy bear pancake, so the waitress game her a plain pancake and didn't charge us for it. She was awesome

My mom and I decided to try Childers out because we are currently assisting my sister with wedding planning and she had selected Childers to be her caterer. Our first impression was that this place is a little on the small side. Â We also ended up waiting quite a bit, first at the door and again after we were seated. Â The place was very busy.We were definitely pleased with the menu. Â My sister is vegetarian and there were several vegetarian-friendly items. Â Even I was interested in trying a few of them.We ended up getting french toast (I think) and a frittata with steak. Â Everything we had tasted amazing, but freshly squeezed juice was a little pricey, glad we also got water. Our waitress was very friendly, but obviously had several tables to take care of. Â She was constantly rushing from table to table and seemed a little flustered. Â We did notice a table or two that had been seated after we got their food and drinks before we did. Â Could have been because we'd ordered specialty drinks, but did make us question why our section was so much busier than theirs. More...

The place was full, but we only had to wait for a few minutes. Â Their website says "Peoria's Best Breakfast" and I feel that if you order the Shrimp & Grit Benedict, they're not braggin', but offering up FACT. Â It was SO delicious! Â And one of a kind too, which I always appreciate. Â Their coffee was really good. Â Hubby had the Greek Mushroom Omelet, and even though he ordered it withOUT the feta cheese, it was still great! Â The service was awesome. Â Just really, REEEEALLY wish they'd had cocktails too! Â Would've made it even more perfect!!! More...

Zero issues getting a table immediately followed by prompt service. Â Waitress was awesome, can't ask for better. Â Provided a pot of coffee and carafe of water. Â PERFECT :) I like the new look of the place. Â Also like the touchpad system the servers are using.I got a skillet, it was phenomenal. Delicious and busy. Â We drove from Morton because of the reviews on Yelp! The cheddar biscuits were fantastic, moist, and flavorful. The gravy homemade and the peppered bacon, thick. As someone with an egg allergy, this place has a fairly large egg-based menu. Â It was a tad upsetting trying to branch out and order the breakfast quesadilla to be told it wouldn't be worth it since most of the filing is egg. Overall, we will definitely come again. More...

What a modern restaurant should be! I can order a plant based entre and you can order your bacon soaked pancakes. Either way we are being served by professionally trained, polite and efficient staff.
I just attended father's day lunch with my Dad at peak service time and the wait looked immense but we were seated within 15min, and were serviced and done within the hour. Exemplary teamwork is the only thing that can get a restaurant to this place so my complements to the managers as well as the chefs.
As far as interesting food goes. They are spot on modern trends without thinking it's a premium to serve healthy food. A superfood Benedict is a great example of a dish laced with all the nutritional needs and tastes of a vegetarian, with a familiar nod to the English traditional staple. Sauteed kale isn't a common task for chefs dispute it's health benefits and while I have probably ordered 20 or more of these dishes I have never been served kale that had to be sent back to be cooked properly. When can you say that about your meat? Well trained chefs and great food.
