What makes a great website?
1. RESPONSIVE DESIGN
The concept of using responsive design is not new to 2018. Since the Google update known as “Mobilegeddon” back in April of 2015, everyone has been hustling to upgrade their websites so that they are easily viewable and usable regardless of the device it is being viewed on (mobile, tablet, desktop).
2. MINIMALISM
Many businesses are taking web design back to the basics with minimalistic designs and layouts. Websites are featuring fewer pages, with simpler designs and more blank space.
3. USER-FRIENDLY
Usability has always been of key importance in a successful website. Websites with an intuitive design, and with images and aspects that are pleasing to the eye are going to attract more customers than those without these features.
4. PERSONALIZED USER EXPERIENCE
In 2018, personalized user experience web design may become the norm. Rather than everyone receiving the same experience when visiting a particular website, a personalized user experience design allows for the content and experience to be designed specifically for a particular user.

Content marketing is likely to expand in 2018, with more focus being placed on high quality content. Websites that provide users with useful information in a variety of formats, including video and images vs. text when possible, will have greater success than those that don’t meet the needs of today’s website viewers.

8. CARD-BASED DESIGN
You’ll see a lot more websites using card-based design. A benefit of this type of design is that the card design is ideal for users with mobile devices and varying screen sizes, because they can be easily adjusted to each screen.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
1. What is the purpose, objective or goal for the project?
2. What time frame is provided and what’s the scope of the project?
3. Who is the primary contact person for the project?
4. What will be the measure of completion?
5. What is expected after the completion of the project?
Describe your creative process.
For me, that web design process requires 7 stages:-
1. Goal identification: Where I work with the client to determine what goals the site needs to fulfill. I.e., what its purpose is.
2. Scope definition: Once we know the site's goals, we can define the scope of the project. I.e., what pages and features the site requires to fulfill the goal, and the timeline for building those out.
3. Sitemap and wireframes creation: With the scope well-defined, we can start digging into the sitemap, defining how the content and features we defined in scope definition will interrelate.
4. Content creation: Now that we have a bigger picture of the site in mind, we can start creating content for the individual pages, always keeping search engine optimization in mind to help keep pages focused on a single topic. It's vital that you have real content to work with for our next stage.
5. Visual elements: With the site architecture and some content in place, we can start working on the visual brand. Depending on the client, this may already be well-defined, but you might also be defining the visual style from the ground up. Tools like style tiles, moodboards, and element collages can help with this process.
6. Testing: By now, you've got all your pages and defined how they display to the site visitor, so it's time to make sure it all works. Combine manual browsing of the site on a variety of devices with automated site crawlers to identify everything from user experience issues to simple broken links.
7. Launch! Once everything's working beautifully, it's time to plan and execute your site launch! This should include planning both launch timing and communication strategies — i.e., when will you launch and how will you let the world know? After that, it's time to break out the bubbly.
