What kind of accounting services do you provide?
We are bookkeeping specialists, not CPAs. That’s important, because we want to help you better tackle things like:
* QuickBooks setup to track your business activity. This could be as simple as tracking receipts and miles, or maybe it’s how you categorize a new business loan or grant.
* Report required activities like state and federal filings/taxes. Filing and paying quarterly sales tax on-time can be simple (or costly) if done ”by the book.”
* Payroll Services: Sometimes it makes sense to just have a service that we can help you find, or sometimes it makes sense for us to handle this for your small number of employees.
* Produce financial statements to understand business health. Equally important is how much cash-flow is available to pay employees or bills, and how do you know if you are making progress or profit?
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
We are bookkeeping specialists, not Accountants/CPAs. We work closely with many of our customers' CPAs. Think of it this way, the Accountant sets the strategy of how the business should operate year over year (Cash vs. Accrual based business, preparing important end of year tax returns and other annual filings). The bookkeeper handles the tactical execution of how the business should operate weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities. These can range from properly categorizing receipts into QuickBooks, to reconciling end of month bank statements, and quarterly submittal of state sales tax required reporting along with employee federal tax withholdings.
What do you love most about your job?
Our team of bookkeepers are moms and wives first and foremost, that have a background and passion for bookkeeping. We look to help a variety of for profits and not for profits get a handle on some of the things that help them accomplish their goals with their customers and mission. Our successes go hand-in-hand with our customers.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We started our team of bookkeepers as we kept hearing of the needs from friends and colleagues for businesses of all sizes that needed help handling the important daily activities of running their business. These can be more stressful than they need to be for business owners. For our customers it's comforting to know that someone understands they got into business to pursue a passion, not to worry about the paperwork. They understand though it's an important part of their long term success as a business. We have also enjoyed helping non profits by being an independent 3rd party that can help collaborate and further the mission between the non profit leadership and board.
