Definitely the way to go if you live in NYC area and are looking to buy a drone. We were about to buy from Amazon but we were hesitant so we went to visit Brooklyn Drones. Roger let us use the simulator and spent all the time we needed to make our own decision to purchase a drone - -and decide which one. As a beginner drone flyer, you need this kind of direction and "induction" to the drone world. Roger took us to the park and taught us what we needed to know to be able to fly the drone over my sisters wedding the next weekend and throughout Italy the weekend after that.A few months later, we call Roger back and he takes the time to answer questions and educate us on the new drone policy.These things are not just another go pro or camera - they are an aircraft - -and Rogers services allow you to pursue a hobby with the right guidance.Highly recommended! Crashed my DJI Phantom 4 and didn't know what to do. Went to google to see what my options were and found them. Now most people know that with an item of this price tag you cant just trust anyone. I called and spoke to Roger. Was a pleasure to talk to. I decided to ship them my drone being I live a ways away. Their service was quick and Roger got back to me with any questions via email in a timely manor. Went to the store to pick up after repair was complete. Store was extremely clean and the members of the staff were very knowledgeable and even spent the time going through some items with me. I would highly recommend this place. I went into BK Drones before I purchased a drone and the guys working there were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Fast forward a few months and I needed my drone repaired and their price quote was way less than I thought it would be. They told me it would be a one week turn around for the repair then they called the very next day to tell me that it was done and ready for pick up. I came here after the camera on my DJI Phantom 3 4K stopped working to see if the guys could give me some insight as to what the cause of the problem may be. Not only were they completely thorough in their explanations about how the drone works and how to properly use and store it, but they actually noticed the problem and addressed it right there before my eyes! Can't recommend Brooklyn Drones enough. After a very close encounter with a flock of birds that took out my DJI with a crash I thought it was finished. In the short time we spoke about my mid air collision I learned more about the nuances of operating and flying a drone than I did in the last few months. In the end he got me back in the air for the price quoted and I couldn't be happier! I look forward to going back to the shop and getting involved with the activities he is organizing in the future. Integrity. Passion. Excellent customer service. I can't say enough great things about Brooklyn Drones. I walked in having done my own research on the drones, was buying a gift for my son. After talking to Roger, he taught me more, info I didn't get off the internet. He could have sold me any of them and I would have bought it, but he spent a lot of time asking me about my son, his interests in order to recommend the right drone for him. I ended up buying a less expensive model than the one I had come in for and Roger was right, the one he recommended was the best choice. Additionally, everyone in the store is passionate about drones, great energy. Such a positive place to visit. My experience at Brooklyn Drones NYC, was similar to me as a child going to Disney World for the first time. The sight of the awesome line up of drones are awesome, and the staff there are friendly. When I purchased the Mavic Pro they offered to Update the Firmware for me. We took it out the box, charged the controller, battery, powered up the drone, and everything was updated. Then we registered my drone to the FAA ($5 bucks).After that we took the drone out back, and they (not you due to legal reasons) flew it up a few feet to show me how it works. They taught me what to do and what not to do when flying, and how to properly calibrate the drone and gimbal. I got there at 2pm and didn't leave till an hour or so later, because I was caught up in the moment. If you want to buy a drone and leave the store you can, but if you them to explain how to use it and update everything, make sure you give yourself at least an hour.There was another guy who brought the Mavic Pro, and we both learned how to use it together (he also chose to update the firmware as well). Later we laughed because he was late for work but still chose to stay haha! They also do drone repairs which is comforting. One employee in the shop was fixing a drone, and they were kind enough to explain what had happened when I asked.To wrap everything up, Brooklyn Drones NYC is a fantastic place for beginners, hobbyist, and experts. My husband and I stopped in Brooklyn Drones yesterday. The two employees that we met each had experience building, flying, and racing their own drones. In buying a drone, I’m not going to buy from a hobbyist. I’m going to buy from the guys that eat, breathe, and sleep drones. They answered all my questions including the changing drone certification laws, the average flight time of the drones, the average battery life, where it’s legal to fly drones in the area, etc…. They had experience flying the various drones and knew the pros and cons of each. I appreciated their experience with which models were better entry levels, which had the best cameras, etc….When a customer walked in with a drone he had purchased and had some questions about how to improve his control during flights, they spent time with him talking about the ins and outs.
