Beyond the Dog Houston/ Beyond the Dog Kansas City

My husband and I adopted four year old Luna from a rescue at five months of age. She gradually started to show signs of aggression towards other dogs over the years, and it took a turn for the worse last summer. Since then, it has been difficult to take her around any unfamiliar animals or humans. We contacted Beyond the Dog out of desperation and the All-Inclusive Program was recommended for our case. After our first month of training, Luna has made tremendous progress. Our trainer, Megan, has been amazing and very patient throughout the process. My vet and several other trainers felt there was little hope for Luna but they’ve been proven wrong. Dr. Savage and the entire team have been fantastic to work with and the results are unbelievable. Oliver, our Sealyham Terrier, who was a “wild man” when he first met Megan, has become a much calmer and more polite boy since working with her. Megan, while firm, was always loving and positive but he knew she “meant business” and learned pretty quickly. The biting issue is pretty much taken care of, along with the chewing. He walks nicely on command and knows to go “to place”. Now it is up to us to continue to maintain & reinforce what Oliver (& we) have been taught. Their name says it all! Beyond the Dog was just who we needed to help us and our cats! We have two cats that were having a hard time getting along. They couldn’t be in the same room together and now they always are! Their training was constructive and they gave us the tools to continue reinforcing good behavior! When we had to put down our beloved 15 yr old Lab, our Lab/Great Dane rescue dog suddenly lost his companion and mentor. We knew we needed help to get Duke back on track and curb his obsessive barking and newly acquired aggression towards other dogs. We turned to Beyond the Dog to give him the guidance and attention he needed. Renee immediately but lovingly took command of Duke and controlled his 185 lbs with no problem. After each lesson, she gave us notes to follow what had been taught the previous week and made herself available for any questions at all times. Renee brought Duke to multiple venues, i.e., our vet's office, Petsmart, dog parks, etc., to test his behavior and worked with us to deal with every scenario we could possibly experience. Duke has made great progress and we feel confident that we can now enjoy our daily walks with him using the skills Renee taught us. We plan to do a few "follow-up" lessons to keep us on our toes... and to allow Duke to see his beloved instructor, Renee! More...

We just finished a Board and Train for our lab and Executive Program for our lab and chihuahua. Both dogs had issues with separation anxiety, fear, and general obedience. Alexandra worked tirelessly with them, and they are now completely different pups! They do well on walks and meeting new people, and we are able to go on vacations and not worry about how they’ll do with a petsitter. Alexandra worked with us as well to modify how we interact with them to eliminate issues that we had inadvertently been creating. She is patient and kind, and has a lot of experience working with many animals. More...
