After 4 hours on feet in Manhattan, we were so hungry and craving for Indian food. Thanks to the internet, we were just a few blocks from this restaurant. As we entered, I was blown away by the inside decore and very chic interior. For the first time in my life, I was impressed by the look of an Indian restaurant. The choices of food items on the menu were even more impressive. Since we were so hungry I had to tell the waiter to hurry up and to my surprise, the waiter was so gracious; he promised to bring food in 20 minutes for all, five, us (the words "gracious" and "waiter" never go together to describe service in an Indian restaurant)!Wait, wait there is another surprise; as soon as we gave our orders to the waiter, a beautiful young woman came to our table who happened to be one of the owners of this restaurant. She thanked us for coming to her restaurant and told us to let her know if she could do anything to make our experience at this restaurant more pleasant. Again, the first time I had seen in an Indian restaurant to have an owner come and greet you. She took the time to come to our table even though the place was jampacked. To make a long story short, the food was amazingly tasty, the price was reasonable, and the service was excellent. I hardly give my review on the restaurant, however, it would grossly unjust, if I keep this view, about Zaika, to just myself. I wish there was a Zaika like this where I live (San Jose, CA). Keep up the good work, Zaika and will see you next time when I come to NY again. More...
lovely cheesecake, lovely dessert
Outstanding! By myself on a business trip but very glad to stumble across this place in midtown east. I had a lamb dish called Rogon Josh that was as good as anything I've ever had in London. Naan was also top notch. I got the garlic Naan. Will be back! More...
I want to give them 5, but it is not the most amazing Indian food. It is very good. A great neighborhood option with wonderfully kind and friendly service.
Super place, highly recommended for all corporate events, social parties and family functions
I had an amazing time at this restaurant in New York. We had exceptional service from the moment we walked through the door. I came with a part of five and were seated as soon as we got there. The restuarant is very spacious and you don't feel like you're up under other customers. It's not loud so you can carry on a good conversation. We ordered chicken and vegetables samosas to start and then followed with butter and garlic naan bread and had punjabi chicken curry, Jeera aloo and lamb Rogon Josh. The lamb was the stand out for me for the night! But everything tasted really good!!! Authentic indian food.I must say again the customer experience was amazing our waiter suggested our meal and it was a great choice. We felt that individual attention while dining. I will definitely recommend them!!! More...
Excellent food. Ordered takeout and it couldn't have gone any better. They actually called me and let me know the food was ready earlier than Yelp's estimate. Lamb vindaloo, saag paneer, butter chicken, chilli naan bread. All delicious, all fresh made, all had a depth of flavor indicative of great care, skill, and attention. Vindaloo was tender chunks of tasty lamb in a perfect spicy red sauce with hints of citrus zests. The Saag was fresh soft cubes of homemade cheese in an Indian spiced puree of spinach. Butter chicken was assorted pieces of boneless white meat in a perfectly cooked traditional butter sauce. Definitely my new favorite midtown Indian restaurant. More...
Zaika is an excellent Indian restaurant located at midtown East side. They have lunch buffet at around $20. Although it's more expensive than Darbar, which is a few blocks away, their food choices are good and the place is spacious and not crowded at all. I like that I don't feel cramped while eating and walking to the buffet area. Now for mealpal review, Zaika is one of my go-to places. They serve different menu per day, sometimes they have vegetarian menu and at times they have chicken masala or vindaloo. Now, I must say that of all restaurants in mealpal, Zaika is one of the ones that are true to their word about serving size. They don't make it a small portion just because you're a mealpal customer. I can assure you that when you order from here, you will definitely have your mealpal subscription's worth! More...
Nice Indian food in New York
Love it for:Spacious interiorsExtensive menuGenerous quantityAttentive service Rich North Indian flavorsLahsuni Gobhi was crisp, well done but I thought it had a little strong flavor of oil. The other starter we opted for was keema Samosa. Most restaurants will have lamb keema but I was pleasantly surprised to find chicken Samosa and it was very fresh and well made. The main course checked all boxes across the board for me. The price reasonable, quantity enough and flavors perfectly balanced. The dal zaika is your typical dal makhni slow cooked for hours. We recommend the chicken kali mirch from the extensive menu, though it could have been spicier. All in all worth coming back to! More...
By far the best Indian food in town. Every dish is delicious and the people that work there are humble and friendly. Highly recommend. P.S. this is from a person that never ate Indian food before. Oh almost forgot they have happy hour also. More...
. We went for a dinner recently. Service was very good, though a little slow.Food was pretty good (non veg as well as the vegetarian entrees). The dessert was satisfactory.Value very good. We definitely recommend this place for visitors as well as locals. More...
I got the vegetarian lunch special and samosa chaat for pick up. Looks like they participate with meal pal, because when I got there there were a bunch of orders ready! Mine was hot and packed up within the window they gave. The curries were great and the pakora were still crispy despite being in a steamy container with salad and rice. Really good variety in the lunch box. It came with two different curry dishes, pakora, salad, rice, and naan. I definitely did NOT need the samosas but they were also delicious. I prefer my curries on the spicier side, but I didn't specify in the order and they had a little kick! If you don't like spice, I would try to leave a note and if you want your face to melt you definitely need to specify. All in all, I'm definitely ordering from Zaika the next time I'm craving Indian at work. More...
We decided on this restaurant after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. The waitstaff was excellent, especially Rej, and his recommendations could not have been more on point. I will definitely come back next time I am in NY. More...
Tried their Khasta kachori and pudina paneer tikka for appetizers. The kachori was really flavorful, filled with stuffing and topped with a tangy chole gravy. The paneer tikka was minty although a little dry. For the main course tried their Paneer lababdar, kadhi pakora and roomali roti, all very good, but the kadhi pakora stood out especially. Thoughtful portion sizes, good food, ambience and service. More...
Amazing food at this restaurant. We ordered several items and Paneer Kadhahi is out of the world . The service is pretty fast and welcoming. The ambience is great and thanks to the manager to ensure to get our feedback on regular basis . I would say that this is the best India restaurent I have ever visited in the NCR area. More...

Where do I start Extensive menu; reasonable pricing. Large (wine) pours; and very attentive, courteous service ...And the free dessert of chocolate and mango ice cream was off the charts yummy! Highly recommend!
Amazing amazing food and fabulous staff. We regularly eat Indian food and this was among the beat I've ever had. Literally. Absolute must if you are in the area. More...
Well this was a nice last evening surprise. Walked here from our awful hotel! We were already disillusioned with our NYC visit. So we ambled down the road, having read the reviews. We were greeted politely and seated. Our server was so respectful, from Brighton :) via India, we shared a few stories. Being British I feel I know a bit about Indian food, my husband ordered a dish I hadn't heard of, our server came back to ask us where we OK with all current order he proceeded to tell us, don't worry I will make sure it is delicious and my goodness it was it was hands-down the best shrimp curry that we have ever had the pleasure of eating. Yum would love the recipe, could taste the cardamom, coriander, cumin it burst with flavor. Kadhai Shrimp More...
Wow! This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The food came out quick, the quantities were perfect, and the waiters were on top of their game. They were prompt to check on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal, and make sure any problems were soon to be solved. Shoutout to Raj!! Who did an amazing job as our waiter!! More...
Probably the best Indian food in NYC. Light and each dish uniquely flavored, with clear vegan options. Wonderful Lasuni Gobi and great selection of breads. The daal is a must.
If you're looking for good authentic Indian food in the area, look no further! I love Indian food and usually seek out a place wherever I travel. I've had the full spectrum of Indian food/ restaurants and this place is excellent.Got immediate seating, wide gamut of dress attire, full bar, pleasant atmosphere and most important, delicious food. Service was superb! Food came out super quick, staff arranged table, prompt on refills and was around for any questions. By the way, I got the Buttered Chicken, Sonoma, white rice and Nan. All very good!I would recommend and revisit Kaika! More...
Nice ambiance, service and of course good food.
Great food...awesome service totally enjoyed the meal. Highly recommend it.
Ordered the egg plant which was amazing. The paneer butter masala was fabulous. Garlic Nan and raita was awesome. This is my new go to Indian restaurant!!! Wow.
Just had a delicious meal at Zaika! Nice atmosphere, great service and super yummy food!
Nice tasty food, best staff
I had a great experience going to Zaika, ther service was great and food was very impressive.
Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in nyc! Service is phenomenal and the food will not disappoint at all!
Really high quality Indian food - even via delivery. Baingan bharta and paneer butter masala are awesome.
Recently had dinner here with my husband on a visit to NYC. The food was fantastic. We had the chicken 65 and the vegetable pakoras as starter...so delicious. For our entrees we shared a chicken tika masala a lamb biryani and a garlic naan....once again delicious. The finale was the dessert. I can't remember what it was called but it was roti fried with ghee and sugar and served with ice cream...so good. Not only was the food fantastic but so was the service! Zaika is our new favorite NYC restaurant. We will be back the next time we are in the city! More...
Great food. Definitely try the chicken Punjabi dishes. The gravy and chicken pairing is awesome. The apps are great also.
Best best best!Chicken Masala is great. Nice place. Great staff. Definitely recommend.
This review is only for the Butter Chicken! So good!!!! I have tried soooo many places and had a lot of BC that was not very good. Minus 1 star because Indian is expensive, but this is really on the expensive side for the portion size. Ordering butter chicken and plain naan comes out to nearly $30!!!! Worth it but only once a month or so. More...
Best Indian food I've ever had. Staff is very friendly. Great atmosphere. Top notch single malt whisky. I go there every time I'm in NYC!!
Great atmosphere, amazing martinis (and I don't even like fruity drinks), food was delicious and our waiter Anthony was the best!!!! Helped us order, took care of us! Definitely coming back!!! More...
Fantastic experience from top to bottom! Our server Anthony was helpful, unobtrusive, had great recommendations and anticipated our every need. And the food...!!!! Oh my goodness!!! I had the butter chicken and my husband had the lamb vindaloo - both were absolutely out of this world! Delicious - subtle flavors, just the right amount of spice and an incredible richness. Seriously recommend - no matter how high your expectations, you will not be disappointed! More...
One of the better Indian restaurants in Manhattan. Very modern and chic interior, with a lot of vibrant and mellow blue colors incorporated. Still casual but classy. Service was good and not too fast, but not slow either.I ordered a mango lassi and it was refreshing. Just the right amount of sweet. I ordered the butter chicken with rice and a side of garlic naan. They confused our orders a little when they first cams out, but everything was quickly resolved. They even brought out a chicken tandoori to our table by accident but let us keep it without charge :) the naan and rice were fresh. The butter chicken was flavorful and savory. A bit pricey but it's worth it! More...
Great Indian food in stylish setting with excellent service. The ingredients, spices and combination of flavors make this as good as it gets. Saag paneer, butter chicken, shrimp curry, marinated lamb chops, garlic naan and creamy raita -- all cooked to perfection in the tandoor. What more can you ask for? This place is going to be overcrowded some day, but for now it's a wonderful treasure in mid-town Manhattan with a comfortable setting which is worth experiencing. More...
Don't let this unassuming front fool you - this place easily has the best Indian food in NYC. It's right next to the Permanent Mission of India, so that's a tell right off the bat. I live next door and sometimes order for delivery, which is also great. We typically order the Tandoori Sea Bass (you should order this at least once), Sag Paneer, Butter Chicken, and either a Kesar Rasmalai and/or Gulab Jamun. There are also really good vegetarian options; maybe not if you're vegan though. Everything here makes your taste buds sing at best, and is "just" good at worst. Indian desserts aren't everyone's bag, but they do the best that I've had in this city. The service is pretty good too. More...
Food was super awesome. I had order the paneer Akbari and it was awesome with perfect blend of spices. Ambarasai chole was super awesome. It took me back to my childhood. Thank you guyz! More...
Really took to this place. Service was excellent and the food was spectacular. The turmeric soup was my favorite. It is a cure for a cold day, for sure! The Baigan Bartha was very good as well and the butter chicken was the perfect blend of curry and sweet. We also had a mango lassi which I thoroughly enjoyed and the rice pudding dessert which wasn't too sweet but had a bunch of interesting and yummy flavors. More...
Excellent Indian food. My hubby and I are both Indian (and I am also an avid cook) so we have a high bar for Indian food. The food from Zaika is remarkably delicious. Not too greasy or heavy. The food is very fresh and well seasoned. We ordered the Butter Chicken and the Lamb Saag and both were spectacular. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in town. It will be our new go to spot for delivery. More...
I would Highly recommend "Zaika" to have delicious food in the New York City. Beautiful ambience and courteous staff! I would definitely come back here Special thanks to Anthony for getting us yummylecious gulaab jamun

Great Indian...chicken vindaloo was awesome!
I had brunch at Zaika with three friends of mine when we visited NYC. The ambiance was pretty good. We ordered veg kurma, paneer butter masala, rice, naan and of course tea because everyone of us loved tea. We liked the food except for tea, I took off one star because of two reasons. First, the tea cups were dirty, later it was replaced when brought in notice. Second, the quantity of rice was very less. More...
Solid Indian option in Midtown. I had a late night in the office and after getting home, I didn't really want to go out. Luckily, Zaika delivers. I ordered the mushroom truffle naan and the butter chicken. It was delivered in about 30 minutes. Everything tasted really good, although the butter chicken was just a tad sweeter than I would prefer, and that's being overly critical. If I had time, I would visit in person but overall I would definitely suggest it as a good, solid option for Indian food. More...
We celebrated our daughter's Sweet 16 birthday here, as her favorite food is Indian and there were 7 of us visiting from Maine. Our Lyft driver dropped us off 2 blocks from there, after deciding he would not deliver us directly. So, short story, we got lost and the Manager, who I'd spoken with several times on the phone to re-do our reservation, actually walked to where we were and escorted us back to the restaurant and basically saved our evening. If that wasn't enough, they gave us a free appetizer and also sent our daughter a free birthday dessert as a surprise at the end. Every single dish was scrumptious, and my daughter, her friends, my husband and I ate every bite. Our waiter was exceptional, attentive without overbearing and we enjoyed our time there so much. We can't wait to visit there again next time we are in town. More...
We passed by Zaiya a number of times as it's close to home. We never gave it a try as it didn't have many reviews on yelp. But the food looked really good! Finally one fine day, we decided to come in here. We visited this place on a weekday and there wasn't any rush at all. Hardly one or two families. The restaurant has a really nice decor. On being seated, our server greeted us with a big smile. He was really friendly and explained all the exquisite dishes on the menu. The food here is contemporary indian, the dishes have a modern twist and are served with a variety of combinations not heard of before. We ordered the masala chai and salted lassi. The masala chai was really good! On our server's suggestion we got the Paneer Akbar-paneer kebabs with cheddar and spices and for mains we got the butter chicken and Dal Zaika! The portions were huge and the food presentation was beautiful. The appetizer was very flavorful and unique! We loved it. I loved my butter chicken and fiancé loved his dal zaika (thick black daal) They have a yelp offer of a free dessert if you check in. We redeemed our offer and ordered the rose almond kheer. Our server was very generous to give us some extra kheer to take home for free. I recommend this place as it's very underrated for the quality of food it serves!! Super friendly staff :) More...

We were craving some Indian food and decided to visit Zaika. Let me tell you, the food was amazing !! Every single thing we had was cooked to perfection and had a distinctive flavor. My boyfriend doesn't really like vegetarian food but we had a couple of vegetarian plates and he was IN LOVE. The drinks were executed well, very balanced ! The staff was very attentive and the ambience was quiet, relaxed... awesome for a date! very beautiful place ! Loved every second we spent there. FYI if you go there definitely treat yourself to some lamb !! It was delicious. More...

I travel to ny quite often and this place is so authentic and fresh in its delivery of fantastic Indian food. I have had many different dishes here and it never disappoints.
Had a great dinner @ Zaika. Fresh food, tasty and good service! Defiantly will come back here.
Fantastic all around. Shockingly amazing seafood dishes!
My sister and my niece and I were in nyc on June 30 after a broadway play. My niece is a vegan and my sister and i don't eat meat. We wanted Indian food and found this place , as it was by the subway station we needed. The place is beautiful!! Really upscale gorgeous decor. There is a rock water wall as you walk in , which is a soothing and calm sound. The young lady that is at the door and the gentleman who seated us were both polite and respectful and smiled. They gave us a beautiful table by a wall - and there was an electric plug in right there , for fones!!!! Our waiter was super nice and very informed on everything on their menu. He told us exactly what was purely vegan and described everything we asked him to. We all made choices and got appetizers too. Everything was beyond delicious. The portions were large. The sauces were perfect. The seasonings were amazing. Not too hot. Not too bland. We were all very satisfied. We all have had Indian cuisine before and I would recommended Zaika as one the prettiest and best I've been to. Also the waiters and servers and and receptionist are very nice and respectful people. The bathroom was also high end moderne and immaculate. This place is not only gorgeous to walk into , their food lives up to your first impression!! More...
I came with a group and was hopeful as I had read that vegan options were offered. It was pretty slim pickings though. There is an extensive vegetarian menu but most everything has butter or cream or cheese in it! Be careful. The waiter was extremely helpful and I was able to get one appetizer, bread and one main courseNice place but not really a good choice for vegans.Friendly service, nice decor nice bar More...
Came on a Saturday evening for an early dinner with my 13 year old son. We had had a recent experience in London at Dishoom and thought we would never be able to come close to our Bombay style Indian food experience, now it wasn't the same as far as the menu or ambience (it wasn't trying to be! And it was very lovely) but we had amazing Indian food here. We loved our food and the service was impeccable. Jonathan (we think is his name) was kind and gave excellent recommendations. We will be returning soon and often I'm sure. You must have the samosas and the blue cheese and truffle oil naan!!!! More...

We walked in as a group of 7 after a tiring day walking around New York City. The ambience of the restaurant is great, lit up really well (probably could avoid the blue lights a little)I shall give a review of the dishes we ordered. We ordered - Chicken Saag, Chicken Lababdar, and veg korma in main course dishes with the naan.Rice - ordered tomato and coconut rice Each dish was beautifully cooked. I have never tried chicken saag and I must say , this restaurant has set high standards already. This is going to be a regular now on. The chicken lababdar was creamy and the flavor was amazing, so was the veg korma(perfectly sweet) I loved the simplicity of the tomato and coconut rice, tasted perfect with the gravy options available. I'd say overall, the food and service, both were great. Most definitely would go there, again ! More...

The Montauk keg was close to being kicked so she comped me a glass and I picked a diff draft. Super spicy nuts were so good. The bathroom is clean and you get your own "room" which I always love. Stumbled upon this place. We tried the kofta duo and the chhole with rumali roti. The kofta was absolutely delicious, chhole were pretty good (very heavy on garlic which I personally love) but the rumali roti was disappointing. My meal was soooo amazing I pulled out my phone on my date and had to listen to her complain while I wrote this lol. But anyways I loved this place. I had a hotel nearby and stumbled across it. This place deserves 6 stars.Food:I got the Punjabi Mutton Curry and it was AMAZING!!! If you like goat meat then this meal is for you. I believe the waitress mentioned that all the dishes come out family style so they're basically in a bowl so you can serve yourself. They serve you the first spoonful which is cool. My friend had the Punjabi Kadhi Pakode-Wali and it was also amazing. They also served us a delicious complimentary fried cauliflower appetizer which tasted great.Service:Our waitress was really knowledgeable, patient and provided great customer service. They are definitely out to make a good impression. Atmosphere:The restaurants ambiance is really classy and intimate. Dark purple lights with soft music playing in the background. I love the vibe although I would lower the music a little and maybe get a longer playlist. All in all a fantastic experience! More...

It was quiet for a Saturday night, but we didn't mind one bit. The ambience was wonderful. Loved the artwork and colored lighting and accent walls. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Our server was able to help us pick out the perfect dishes. Everything was incredible! From the appetizer, to the Naan, the rice, our curry dishes and dessert! You definitely won't be disappointed More...
Went here for a dinner with some of my colleagues and thought the customer service was really great! Definitely recommend the vegetarian options (and the butter chicken was pretty good too), and order as much naan as possible!
One of the best high end Indian restaurants on the east coast! A good mix of classic Indian dishes and some wonderfully innovative twists on what I have grown up eating. The pre fixed menu is highly recommended. The ambiance is restrained with a smattering of inspired art work. The service on point and friendly genuine smiles from all. For those who want to come away with lasting culinary memories of Indian cuisine, Zaika is the place to be! More...

We were in NY to celebrate a friends birthday. The restaurant was busy but not full and we were seated fairly quickly. They said they could only do the tasting menu since it was was a new place and we told them that some of us only ate fish (no other kind of meat). The food arrived in multiple courses and it was probably the best indian food I had had for a long time anywhere. The had all of these interesting chutneys to go with the courses. The salmon appetizer was probably my favorite. Brilliant food More...
Wandered in because it was too cold to go further than across the street from our hotel. Lucky us!!! Food was really delicious - it gets the 5 stars. Best Indian food we've had. They've only been open two weeks so maybe still working out some kinks with wait staff but they couldn't have been nicer. Just a little work for service to get a 5. Chef came out of kitchen to explain dishes and check on things. Restaurant is lovely inside with room between tables. We had: tohfa e zameen (three little patties each with delicious sauce), two kinds of vegetarian Kofta and Shrimp Vagator. Delicious desserts. Will return next visit to NY! More...
I visited Zaika last week with a few friends and we enjoyed the food and hospitality. We ordered for appetizers Kadak reshmi, chili crab, scallops, Galouti kebab. They were all very tasty. For entree I had the Lamb Chop and Dal Zaika. The food is really good and i will visit again. More...

Amazing restaurant. Great ambiance, inviting and accommodating staff, delicious food. I came here with my family over Christmas and my expectations were exceeded by a wide margin. Works for a date night and group dinners. Highly recommend. We had saag paneer, chicken vindaloo, a shrimp dish and some other delicious ones I can't remember (we had some chicken kebab appetizer that was a great start). More...

Zaika is a must try restaurant in Midtown Manhattan! The tasting menu matches no other place in the city. Go try it for yourself!

Celebrated my birthday here with my family. The food was amazing as well as the service.
In a summary,Ambiance: 9/10Food: 10/10Service: 10/10 [It was prompt and no waiting time]Drinks: 10/10 [Try the Mango Lassi here]Crowd: ModerateLocation: Prime [Midtown, near grand central] Now for a more comprehensive review:Each item on the tasting menu had me going wow and wow and wow. I think by far, after trying so many Indian restaurants across the New York city and New Jersey state this is the first and perhaps the only restaurant offering something Unique towards Indian Cuisine. Like Honestly, being an Indian sometimes you don't even have to look at the menu at an Indian restaurant, it's usually the same everywhere. What Zaika has done is something extra ordinary with their tasting menu and entree's. Chef Raamanuj is one of the most humble and creative chef in the business and I saw people applauding several times to him.For the service, it was wow fast, I never expect it to be this fast and friendly but it was amazing. The Manager was really nice to me, and and even hooked up with an extra dessert they made when I mentioned I love ice cream. [I will so use this move every place I go.]It's a new place, and its so promising, can't wait to go again. More...

Visited the restaurant today and have never had a better experience. Looks like its my and my girls’ new favorite..beats Indian accent and Junoon by far. The food was beyond my expectations, from the appetizers to the entrees and the dessert. The kebabs are a must try. Everything was perfect in taste and visuals were spot on.
