Not to go with the crowd but yeah, YaYa knocks it out of the park. We bought the lemon curd cake and the bahklavah cheesecake. Both were incredible but if you want to purchase something you know will be amazing, try the lemon curd. It truly is so scrumptious. The owners are an interesting married couple who enjoy each other and love baking. Stop in a buy something yummy! More...

After reading the negative comment on Yaya Sweets's page, I was dumbfounded. I go to this bakery at least once an week and I have NEVER had anything but excellent service and amazing desserts. I must have tried everything in the store by now and nothing has ever been underdone/dense/over baked/stale/etc. Just last week I had a slice of lemon coconut cake and baklava and they were delicious! Maybe some people aren't used to homemade cakes with quality ingredients versus bakery products from chain stores. More...

My family has thoroughly enjoyed many of the desserts at Ya Ya Sweets. By far the chocolate baklava is my personal favorite as well as the spinach pie.
The shop is nice and cozy and the staff are very sweet and take their time with you. The owner sits and listens to what you want your custom cakes to be like and she knocks it out the ball park with awesome results.
After coming here time and again I don't think I can get a grocery store cake again and I haven't found anyone else in Jax making decadent baklava like this!

The Baklava is amazing, we tried both the chocolate raspberry and the honey. I prefer the honey but my husband is a chocolate lover and his favorite is the chocolate. We picked up a key lime pie and it was balanced with just enough sweet and tangy. The graham cracker crust is substantial and holds firm, again not too sweet. The topping, a meringue, was light and not "weepy" - Overall, a fabulous pie! I'm heading back for a custom cake in the future and will report back on the results. More...

About once a week when I have been driving home from work, I have seen the signs for Ya Ya's Sweets Greek Bakery. Â This past Friday I decided I wanted something sweet so I swung a U-turn and pulled in. Â When I entered, I was immediately greeted warmly by the owner. Â Another lady came in just a few seconds after me and she gave us a breakdown of all of the items available and what each item was if we didn't know. Â She was so sweet and welcoming, it made me feel like I was walking into a real family owned business where they truly care about their customers. Â The owner helped the other woman since I wanted to look around for a few minutes and decide what I wanted. Â She then talked to me about finding a sweet treat for my mom and we started talking about work and family and had a great chat. Â I decided to get a chocolate macaroon for my mom, as well as an apricot and peach cookie. I also got a slice of the baklava cheesecake and chocolate raspberry baklava. Â The baklava cheesecake was like no other cheesecake I have had and it was absolutely wonderful, definitely a must try! Â The chocolate raspberry baklava was definitely one of a kind and the flavor was so pronounced. Â It tasted very fresh and decadent. Â My mom said the chocolate macaroon was the best she has had. Â I will definitely be back again, there are so many more items to try and the hospitality of the owner really makes you want to go back learn more about her creations and about her. Â The bakery is located on San Jose, just a block or two north of University on the east side of the street. Â They have a private lot so it is easy to get in and out of. Â Give Ya Ya's a try and you will not be disappointed! More...

The baklava is the best in town, but it was the search for my husband's 50th birthday cake that made Ya Ya's my favorite bakery. My advice to everyone...come here first and you won't go to another bakery for a cake. Other bakeries have a limited selection ("We only do princess castles") or they don't have time for consultations unless you are ordering a wedding cake. Jackie's creativity allows her to make virtually anything. I told her a little about my husband, described the cake I wanted, and I was speechless when I saw the finished product. A tall, castle with dragons and towers...it was the perfect show-stopping centerpiece for my husband, the big Dungeons and Dragons fan. The taste was fabulous. The chocolate cake was moist and rich-the frosting was amazing. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. You have to give this place a try! More...

Finding Greek food in Jacksonville usually requires cooking it in your own kitchen. So I was excited to see this little place open and have been meaning to get down this way to try it. Today I did. First off, the people are as kind as can be. Second, you can tell they use quality ingredients in their items. Third, the prices are very reasonable for what you get. I tried the baklava (very tasty), and my son got a cupcake and loved it. I also got some kourabiedes, which were made very well and had a perfect texture. I happen to dislike almond extract in mine, so these won't be something I'll get again, but that's my own hangup and I won't ding them for that! Also got a piece of spanakopita for lunch tomorrow (if it lasts that long). There were other things I wanted to try - a coconut lemon curd cake and a carrot cake that both looked great - the owner said they use organic ingredients in their cakes which is a plus in my book. The owners were just really lovely people to me and my son, giving him a little gift after talking to him for several minutes. Support this local business! Your YaYa would want you to! More...

We needed a cake for a baby shower today and a well known but unnamed grocery store wouldn't even budge to help us, so I Googled Jacksonville Best Bakery and Ya Ya Sweets Bakery came up. I called them and they were so helpful! They let us text the photo of the cake design we wanted and went to pick it up two hours later. Their cake was even prettier than the photo. Now that's service! But it gets better - the cake was truly homemade and tasted even more yummy than it looked (and it was so pretty we didn't want to cut it). We love supporting small businesses and they will have more business from us. Thank you, Ya Ya! You helped make our day! More...
