It was such a joy having Will & Whitney take the photos for our wedding. I could not recommend them more highly. They were very professional & organized while also being flexible & easy going. Will's experience & knowledge of the area are invaluable. Lastly & most importantly, the photos are beautiful. Will Kerner Photography was absolutely fantastic for our wedding experience. Will was very flexible and customer-service oriented, from start to finish.
He met us in Washington, D.C. for our engagement photos and turned a rainy, cloudy, spring day into gorgeous pictures. The weather didn't stop us! The pictures were very natural and captured our D.C. experience and personalities. The colors and clarity were perfect, and we continue to receive many compliments on all of our pictures we used for Save the Dates, Thank You cards, etc.
On the wedding day, Will and his team produced again. It barely felt like we were taking "formal" pictures, in the midst of a crazy day, and the photos that came out of it were incredible and looked planned (which they weren't!). Will and his team were very creative, but also let us be ourselves and captured us living the day with our closest friends and family. We feel the pictures are very true to the day, but also magazine-worthy! We have had a very difficult time deciding which ones to print for family members, and they get compliments from everyone who sees them.
Will worked with us on pricing, and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer, especially for our budgeted amount (not nearly what some other comparable photographers were charging). We highly recommend him!

For our son and daughter-in-law's wedding, Will was the easiest photographer to work with that we have ever run into. He was great at organizing groups and posing individual shots, with clear instructions, and without being overbearing or intrusive. He was very creative in capturing all the special moments of the day. There was no waiting around for the photographer to finish. Instead, the photo times were just another fun part of the day. Trying to plan a wedding from out of town is difficult. Interviewing the vendors over the phone - and booking them without ever meeting them is even harder!
We booked Will after looking at his photos online, and were so glad we did! When we met him about 3 months before the wedding, he set aside some time for us to ask any questions, look over some more of his beautiful work, and tell him what we wanted. He was very easy to work with and responsive to questions via email. On the wedding day, he showed up on time, and was very professional.
My photos are stunning. I couldn't have asked for more beautiful images. Will sent us a sneak peak of 20 or so photos on our honeymoon - and if that was all we had I would have been happy. But there were hundreds of gorgeous images perfectly capturing the day. We even enlarged one of his black and white photos of the barn/mountains to put above our fireplace. Again, he did a fantastic job and I highly recommend him!

Will did an amazing job capturing our wedding. My husband hates being photographed and actually felt very comfortable with Will.
We did engagement photos which were phenomenal and our wedding album is amazing! He was flexible and able to meet with us when we were in town (we live in NYC and got married in Charlottesville). He also photographed our rehearsal dinner!

Wow, our photos from Will are amazing. Will communicated with us really well, as we were living in NYC while planning for our wedding at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville. Our engagement photos were incredible and used for our family's Christmas Cards. We were able to use one for our Save the Dates as well. Will took wonderful photos at our wedding and we barely noticed him being there. He made us feel at ease and comfortable. Will is best in class!
If you want a photographer who has many years of experience, is flexible and open to ideas, and has a great personality, then Will is your man.
Prior to making the decision to hire Will, we met with various photographers and were overwhelmed with the number of packages and options as it was not easy to truly compare packages from one photographer to the next.
Upon our first meeting with Will, all of our concerns about value and quality quickly faded. Will's personality, portfolio of work, and his genuine passion for what he does impressed us enough that we didn't even think twice about hiring him.
(*Will's pricing is competitive with the market and we would classify him as one of the best)
Will's second shooter, Brianna, is also really great and made for a more comfortable photo session since Brianna took all the photos of me and my Bridesmaids getting ready and Will shot all the photos of the guys prepping.
Will also agreed to do a beta video for us as we did not want the typical music video for our wedding memories! We wanted a fun unedited video capturing our family and friends with their voices (and not one song) similar to the videos both of our families captured during beach vacations over the years.
Will and Brianna were also very accommodating and we never felt rushed. Will seemed to keep me calm and relaxed when our planner seemed to be off point and this was extremely helpful.
Will & Brianna were both truly a pleasure to work with and we had so much fun working with them on our wedding day.
When you look to hire a photographer, personality and fit are probably the most important qualities! The energy comes through in all of your photos so a photographer who makes the day fun is essential! Will captured our day and the result is a portfolio of beautiful, natural and radiant photos that will provide us with wonderful memories for many years to come!

Will did an excellent job at our wedding! We gave him a shot list and he covered every one of the shots we asked for and then some.
His ideas for fun shots are just wonderful and our pictures turned out amazingly well.
He brought along an assistant as well, which allowed us to capture both formal and candid shots. The two of them worked extremely well together and gave us a variety of styles of images.
With Christmas quickly approaching, we asked for a few images and a quick turn around so that we could create a Christmas card - so as soon as we arrived back from our honeymoon, we had a series of preliminary images to use for a Christmas Card, our Thank You Notes, and photos for Christmas gifts.
Less than a month later, we have all of our images available on SmugMug for download or purchase and we have a CD on its way of the images to print at our own leisure.
When interviewing photographers, so many had restrictions on how you could print images and what files you would have access to, but Will has given us nearly 500 images, all fully retouched and beautiful, so that we can print and create albums from the vendor of our choosing.
Will has a great amount of experience outside of wedding photography, which gives him a broader style. We witnessed two other photoshoots in progress on our wedding day, but our shots were so much more lively and fun thanks to Will!
We planned our entire wedding within 2 months and Will did not shy away from our rapid deadline. He worked in our budget, and was even able to stay a little longer than we initially planned.
We would HIGHLY recommend Will to anyone looking to capture fun shots in the Charlottesville area. His knowledge of the area is extensive and he knows JUST the right spots around UVA for perfect photos.

Will Kerner is very open to what you want for your wedding pictures. We wanted pictures of the boys and girls getting ready, so he brought an assistant to be with the boys, so he wouldn't have to rush through either group. The pictures were great!

I waited until the last minute and was lucky enough to find Will Kerner still available the day of my wedding. I loved the pictures on his website and wanted candid photos of my day, rather than the stilted photos with fake smiles you see so often. My photos were amazing! He not only took the candid shots I wanted, but also great set shots that are always nice to have. The one problem I had - trying to decide which photos were the "best" to have framed!
