Matt and Kari have created something special at Widespread, and the ‘community’ extends well beyond the gym. There is no better place if you are looking for a safe, clean, supportive environment to get fit, have fun, and be part of something great.

For years I longed to get into shape, and feel comfortable in my skin. Kids and work took everything out of me and excuses of NO time also took over. Eight months ago, I finally got the courage to walk into Widespread CrossFit and haven't looked back. The two-week on-ramp program helped me gain confidence before joining group classes. My goal was to do group classes three times a week, and as of today I enjoy doing them five to six times a week. The variety in the workouts and the community of people get me excited to jump out of bed to start my day. Many people have the wrong impression of CrossFit. Matt and Kari have built a gym for those that workout daily to those like myself looking to get back into shape after doing nothing for almost 10-years. They also have an incredible kids program that our 8-year twins LOVE. I love seeing how their classes have helped them improve in both physical strength, but also mental strength by believing in themselves.Encourage you to take 15 minutes out of your day to meet with Matt and Kari to see if it's a fit. I promise you that you won't have any regrets. More...

If you are reading these reviews then go ahead and contact Matt & Kari... Widespread CrossFit is good for kids, teens, adults young & older. I was kinda nervous to contact them but sick of my normal gym routine and over fighting for space, I’m so glad I did! I’ve never been more excited to get to the gym and am excited to see where I will go with my fitness goals! I joined mostly in part because it’s good for my mental health but this gym will help me be my best at my physically demanding job and help me continue to do the things I love in the outdoors hopefully into my old age! The owners and coaches are amazing and the “family” here is supportive. They can meet you where u are and I love how they keep me safe with proper form & technique and it is something I actually enjoy doing! It’s an investment worth doing! More...

There is no judgement and everyone is very willing to help from whatever place you need to start. I am not athletic by nature and was in very poor shape. As a kid it is good to have the commitment of classes twice a week where as if you went to the gym it is at your own disgression and you could easily blow it off . My journey with Widespread CrossFit...Last October, after six months of chemotherapy, my oncologist said most recent PET scan showed no evidence of disease. The cancer was gone. I’d never felt relief like that before. However, looking back at that time, I’m not sure I realized how much I’d lost in order to win the battle against cancer. With atrophied muscles, walking up a single flight of stairs required a rest halfway through. I once had to take a couple of rest breaks when I changed out a lightbulb in our foyer. The process of beating cancer had taken its toll. The real question for me was, now that I didn’t have cancer, what kind of life would I live? My oncologist, a huge fan of CrossFit, suggested I give it a try. I heard the horror stories of injuries and the cult-like following, so there was some hesitancy. But, on doctor’s orders, I did it. After nine months at Widespread, here are the things I’ve noticed. My wife says she has me back in that I no longer get lost in my head for hours at a time. My young daughter has a father who’s a healthy role model. The desire to watch her grow up is still my biggest motivator during the toughest of workouts. There’s still a long way to go, but I’ve improved by every possible physical measure. What this all adds up to is that not only am I still alive, but I feel like I’m living. If you’re not sure about checking out Widespread CrossFit, I get it. I wasn’t sure either. All I can say is, give it a try. If you’re like me, it may be one of the best choices you’ve ever made. Matt and Kari, the two main coaches, will set you up for success. They will modify exercises to your skill level and encourage you constantly. It will be tough, but it will also be a blast. More...

They are incredibly supportive and deeply care about helping all of their athletes continue to work toward their fitness goals. Vastly different from other gyms where owners and managers rarely participate. They've also assembled a team of like minded coaches, and have built such a supportive culture within the gym. I've been going here for a couple of months now so feel it's time to write a review. I was hesitant in trying Crossfit, and very intimidated. I have no background in exercise whatsoever, am overweight, and have a separated shoulder on top of that, so obviously I was a little worried about getting hurt. Have no fear! Matt is such an amazing coach! While I'm still working on improving my strength and fitness with one-on-one sessions, I know that I could join a class and be totally fine. Matt, Kari, and everyone I've encountered have been so supportive, encouraging, and just awesome all around. I don't worry about getting hurt any more. Matt seems to read my body better than I do sometimes and knows how to push me farther than I ever thought possible, while somehow stopping just short of hurting myself. He customizes each workout in a way that strengthens my shoulder without having it pop out on me, and tailors everything to what and how much I can do. He's always super careful about form, correcting me if I am not doing something right, and even cutting reps short if I am too worn out to do them properly. In a couple short months my fitness has improved dramatically, I've lost 15lbs and lowered my hypertension medication significantly. I will definitely continue going and can't wait to see what I can do in 6 months or a year from now. Thank you, Matt and Kari, for having a wonderful box and truly caring about your athletes! Widespread Crossfit is amazing because Matt and Kari are amazing. They can scale a workout to anybody's unique needs! I am 57 and have been working out since the 70's. I have always been comfortable in a gym and consider myself a 'gym rat', but demands of work/family/school had gotten the best of me, and I found myself in an unacceptable physical condition. I got my diet under control but really needed a new plan for my workouts. I was in a serious rut, very weak, and was searching for workouts that were efficient and motivating. I've experienced personal trainers over the years, but I have never had coaches that could balance form/safety and pushing my limits like Matt and Kari. They really know me and I feel so supported. Every day the workouts are different and I discover muscles I didn't know I had and push my cardio capacity to the limit. The community is inviting and everyone cheers one another on which I find very motivating. Regardless of your age, Matt and Kari will bring out the best in you and they will work (or help you eliminate!) your limitations and weaknesses. I joined WSCF 9 months ago because I like exercising but couldn't find something that would keep me engaged. Every other place I had tried, I got bored quickly. Crossfit excited me due to the community environment, built in strength training (would force me to do something I wasn't comfortable with), and the results I had seen from other women who had tried it. Widespread was my number one choice because of Matt. There are a number of "boxes" close to me, but Matt stood out as someone that truly cared about form (I really didn't want to get hurt like the rumors stated), he keeps his class sizes small (no more than 8), and he teaches all of the classes (no better way for a coach to get to know someone's weaknesses and strengths and therefore be able to push you to your fullest). Looking back, I am convinced I am at the right place for me based on my goals and I have truly loved the community (small and close knit) that I am now a part of. My personal progress has been great. I am significantly stronger, my outlook on fitness has changed, my diet is considerably better, and my body shape is much leaner.
