Hands down the best catering company we have ever used. We have an annual figure skating competition where we have used many different catering companies in the past, we had the best feedback this year from all the delicious food. *REVIEW FOR CATERING* I enjoyed answering back to coworkers when they asked me, "What's for lunch?" "What's For Lunch". But, I enjoyed it even more when my coworkers said, "What's for Lunch is my new favorite pick"! We had the Beef Tips, Grilled Mango Chicken, Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Stuffed Portobello. The Grilled Chicken was HUUGGEEE and unfortunately, not as moist or marinated or as juicy as what I hoped it would be. The Beef Tips, however, WERE THE TALK OF THE TOWN. The Beef Tips were perfectly cooked, it tasted like mini roast beef chunks and was perfectly seasoned all the way through. Along with the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, these two combos saved the day! As for the Stuffed Portobello for our vegetarians and vegans, they stated they expected the portobello mushrooms to be grilled. After having What's For Lunch at a work function 5 years ago, I hired them to do the catering for 40 people for a thank you luncheon for the staff at my mom's memory care facility this August. They called me back promptly, spent plenty of time talking to me about my options and their recommendations, and everything was a smooth experience from start to finish.They showed up on time, set up quickly, and the food was excellent and very well-received. Their Chicken Parmesan is delicious and we got another grilled chicken dish as well. The staff manager at the facility asked me about the company because he used to be in catering for 5 years and said that was one of the best catered lunches he's seen. Really happy with the customer service, fair prices, and delicious food. Thank you so much What's For Lunch for helping me make their staff feel special and appreciated with a wonderful lunch! We just had a school party catered by Kevin and couldn't be happier with the results. First of all we had a very tight budget and a specific food theme- camping! Kevin worked with us to have the most fun and adorable menu and stayed within our budget. We had the most incredible brisket Frito pie, mini hot dogs, Mac n cheese, salad and all the fixings. Guests raved about the food and there were no left overs, people went back for many servings which is rare at parties with so much going on. I am a customer, as well as a vendor. This puts me in a unique position in that not only do I know their service, but I can attest to their quality as I have been in their kitchen and know the conditions in which client foods are prepared. Kevin Wright and his team of chefs, cooks, and servers have elevated the bar of personal pride in what they do and how they do it. Their facilities, equipment, and hygiene are maintained and kept in an orderly, sanitary fashion towards turning out a product that is delicious, as well as "cooked-to-temp" safe for consumption without the worry of food-borne bacteria. As a kitchen equipment contractor, I can assure you their are few restaurants in Austin I will actually order food in, having seen quite a few of the kitchens. I love What's For Lunch! The food is always fresh, delicious, and their drivers are always on time. I host lunches at physicians offices, so I want my choices to be healthy and freshly made. Based on the compliments I receive from our guests, they also appreciate having a good meal rather than one loaded with fat, salt, etc. I have used many restaurants in the past for catering, but now I use What's For Lunch exclusively. Our high school choir was in town for a state competition this past weekend. I contacted What's For Lunch to see if they could provide our 75 students, and 10 adults with a healthy dinner option for our Friday night dinner. Kevin, Jessica, and Alexis were so accommodating to all of our budget, menu, dietary, and delivery requests. The food was absolutely amazing, delivered hot and ready to serve, and I LOVED that the delivery of the meal was 100% turn key, from the drinks, the generous food portions, the food preparation, the food freshness, plasticware, plates, cups, drinks, even desert! I highly recommend What's For Lunch? to anyone in Austin with lunchtime group catering needs. I recently helped organize a week-long conference with 60 attendees, and asked What's for Lunch? to cater lunches daily. The noontime meal was eagerly anticipated by our participants and faculty every day, and highly praised for quality and flavor. I was grateful that the service was also excellent, from planning and ordering meals, to timely delivery, which allowed our schedule to run on time. Kevin and Amber were very friendly and helpful.
