It was cool. No spooky things happened though, but I don't think it's them. I think I repel spirits. Lol

A beautiful and historic location just off the main road. It would be a great field trip for anyone. Ask about the ghost in the house! Nice gift shop with plenty of local handmade gifts including rings made from Tennessee quarters! ✌ More...

The place is gorgeous. We had a guided visit which taught us all about the history of tge family which owned it and is a pilar family inthe history of Knoxville. It felt like going back in time. We enjoyed the park very much, our knowledgeable and kind guides as well as the little shop which offers a variety of books, locally made items, postcards and rareties such as sugar cones and tea bars to grate. A perfect moment out of time. More...

I've been through the house twice...but my grandfather lived here back in the 1930"s when it was a rental house,, he also told me about things he saw . .. one of the things was a man wearing a cowboy hat in front yard looking in a window... when he pulled his old car in front yard the cowboy just faded away... this is just one event... and there was a rumour that some people were killed and thrown down in a well that used to be on the property...I loved the old kitchen with the dirt floor... and the old fire place they cooked in,, when I went through it on the tour I was told all the furniture was original as when Alexander Ramsey lived here. Wonderful little gem. One of the first houses built in what is now Tennessee. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the property and its history. Tours take roughly 45 minutes to an hour, and the staff are always more than happy to find an answer to any question you have if they don't know already. Vintage baseball games played with rules from the 1860s are played on the grounds most weekends as well, which are always interesting to see. Highly recommend! More...

We stumbled upon this historic site by random search on our iphone while passing through TN. This was an amazing place to visit and our delightful tour guide was very informative sharing many stories from the Ramsey family. It is most likely that the Ramsey family and our Bryan Family were friends with the same gentleman, Rev. James McGready during the turn of 1800. Just imagine discovering that over 215 years later! Ramsey House was absolutely perfect! The location is so beautiful and with everything that is included in the package, it's a great deal! The wedding coordinator, Abby, is wonderful and so helpful. She made sure that all of our vendors were there when they were supposed to be and did so much work to make our wedding beautiful and perfect. As a bride, it was so amazing to know that I didn't need to worry about anything on my wedding day. All I had to do was get married and enjoy the day. Everything else was taken care of and we had the flexibility to have the wedding that we wanted. More...

The outdoor area is great for a large tent/reception of any size! There is plenty if room for parking and the event space is more private since it sits behind the house and off the road.

We loved this venue! We had our wedding in the front of the house, and the reception inside. The leaves were in peak color, and it was a beautiful fall wedding! The price was excellent, and they didn't charge us extra for setup or the actual rehearsal (although the hall for the rehearsal dinner was extra). We had all day before the wedding to setup, and were able to finish cleaning up and taking down everything the next morning. More...
