Interesting and important local historical site. Beautiful and well groomed grounds. Excellent and friendly staff.
The vintage base ball was awesome
One of the best historical homes I've ever visited. Sue Jones was a wonderful guide.
They play vintage baseball it's different from the way they play today
Great car show and live music
My kids thanked me for taking them. :) My own expectations were a bit high, hence 4 stars and not 5
Lovely historic home in the Knoxville area and super nice ladies who run the tours.
Had a good time at the car show
Beautiful home. Very nice people work there. Did their antique show over the weekend, horrible will never do it again.
Must have guide to understand the history.
If you love baseball... You must go and watch. The people are so nice and the food is good.
I've been through the house twice...but my grandfather lived here back in the 1930"s when it was a rental house,, he also told me about things he saw ... one of the things was a man wearing a cowboy hat in front yard looking in a window... when he pulled his old car in front yard the cowboy just faded away... this is just one event... and there was a rumour that some people were killed and thrown down in a well that used to be on the property...I loved the old kitchen with the dirt floor... and the old fire place they cooked in,, when I went through it on the tour I was told all the furniture was original as when Alexander Ramsey lived here. Beautiful house. The tour and tour guide was wonderful.
Not an over-commercialized great piece of history.

Great place to learn about Tennessee history. Watch for exciting events that take place throughout the year. This is a great place, something for the whole family!
Went for the season end Christmas Candle Light tour. House is well and authentically maintained, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This event has a large number of visitors, and the staff coordinated that well. More...
Wonderful little gem. One of the first houses built in what is now Tennessee. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the property and its history. Tours take roughly 45 minutes to an hour, and the staff are always more than happy to find an answer to any question you have if they don't know already. Vintage baseball games played with rules from the 1860s are played on the grounds most weekends as well, which are always interesting to see. Highly recommend! More...
Awesome tour, off the beaten path but worth the drive.
So perfect for when you have a large groip5
We stumbled upon this historic site by random search on our iphone while passing through TN. This was an amazing place to visit and our delightful tour guide was very informative sharing many stories from the Ramsey family. It is most likely that the Ramsey family and our Bryan Family were friends with the same gentleman, Rev. James McGready during the turn of 1800. Just imagine discovering that over 215 years later! Ramsey House was absolutely perfect! The location is so beautiful and with everything that is included in the package, it's a great deal! The wedding coordinator, Abby, is wonderful and so helpful. She made sure that all of our vendors were there when they were supposed to be and did so much work to make our wedding beautiful and perfect. As a bride, it was so amazing to know that I didn't need to worry about anything on my wedding day. All I had to do was get married and enjoy the day. Everything else was taken care of and we had the flexibility to have the wedding that we wanted. More...
I thoroughly enjoyed this venue! It was spacious yet private to our event. The grounds were beautiful and provided more than adequate parking. The venue was a perfect blank canvas to plan with as I was able to bring together all my selected vendors and customize the wedding. More...
The outdoor area is great for a large tent/reception of any size! There is plenty if room for parking and the event space is more private since it sits behind the house and off the road.
Very nice staff. Lots of history and a good place to spend a saturday. They occasionally have special events too. :)
We loved this venue! We had our wedding in the front of the house, and the reception inside. The leaves were in peak color, and it was a beautiful fall wedding! The price was excellent, and they didn't charge us extra for setup or the actual rehearsal (although the hall for the rehearsal dinner was extra). We had all day before the wedding to setup, and were able to finish cleaning up and taking down everything the next morning. More...
