What do you love most about your job?
As long as I can remember, I have always had an empathic connection with animals.
It’s been my lifelong passion to relate with & understand why animals behave as they do.
The special bond between pets & their people warms & inspires my heart.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I began as a volunteer dog training course instructor for AKC dog clubs while studying at university.
My becoming a professional dog trainer naturally sprang from the referrals sent to me to assist frustrated dog owners for 1-on-1 training.
It's very satisfying to me to assist people in building a healthy, loving & humane dog-owner relationship with their dog.
Over the years, my dog training clients would ask me to also pet sit.

With over 30 years of experience, I am a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers & of Pet Sitters International.
I received my Certification as a Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, the only independent certifying organization for the dog training profession.
I completed Cornell University's Certification Program: Solving Canine Behavior Problems,
as well as all the advanced instructor certification courses at Jack & Wendy Volhard's Dog Training Instructor School & Training Camp.
Over the decades, I have taken numerous continuing eduction programs, workshops & seminars for:
- dog obedience, tracking, confirmation & agility training
- how to instruct & structure dog training classes
- to specialize in dog behavior modification & solving dog behavior issues.
(I also have undergraduate degrees in psychology, biology & the health sciences as well as a professional healthcare master's degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.)
