I've been going here for several months now and I absolutely love it! Coach Frank, Coach Richie and Professor Ian are some of the best instructors that I have had. They also make donations and contributions from their profits to local charities as well as military charities as well. If you are a veteran, like myself, I encourage you to come down and give Victorum a try. It reminds me of the brother/sisterhood that we had in the military. I truly love this place, and the staff. Victorum Athletics was referred to us from a close family friend. My husband and I were looking for an activity for our 5 year old son. An activity that would break him from his shell, while learning discipline and respect. The first time we walked into the gym, it just felt right! Coach Frank and his wife Linda were absolutely amazing and gave us that "family-like" feel. At first our son was very shy and didn't even want to tell Coach Frank his name. But by the end of the week, our son was begging to go back! Coach Frank is very patient with the children, always encouraging them, making class fun but still keeping it structured. We selected Victorum based on a recommendation from a highly respected Military Officer for a Family Friendly environment. Coach Frank and Rickie continue to impress us with their unique ability to grow our daughter in such a demanding martial art. I have had the pleasure of taking a couple of classes and really enjoy their instruction. I can't say enough about this place. My youngest son has been attending almost since the gym has  opened and it has been such a rewarding experience. More then just Jiu Jitsu they teach their  students discipline, hard work and unselfish team work. In an individual sport it's amazing the lessons in team work and leadership my son has learned from coaches Frank and Ritchie. Two great guys that really care for their students. I could never really express how special this place is in a couple words. My son is currently Homeschooled and has always been shy. I wanted to get him into Jiu Jitsu to help him break out if his shell and gain the confidence he needs to handle daily challenges. Since the start Coach Frank and Linda have been the most amazing people ever along with all of the rest of the staff. Coach Frank has impacted my child's life more than he even realizes because my son now is gaining that courage and confidence he needed. When my son first started he was so scared and now he looks forward to the classes! They are all so patient with the kids. Explain things so well to where the children are in full understanding of what's happening and why they are building these skills. The environment they have created here feels like family which is so heartwarming. It warms my heart to see people who genuinely love what they do and do it so well. You will not find a better option than this amazing place! I can honestly say that you truly will be missing out if you do not (at the VERY least) just go over and check it out! If you’re not local, it’s not only worth the drive because the prices are insanely affordable for such a beautiful center, and not to mention, the customer service is unbelievably outstanding, And truly go above and beyond for each and every client. I moved to Lancaster a few years ago and had no friends or family within a 300 mile radius. I never thought of Lancaster as "home" until this past year and Victorum Athletics is a part of that. Fast forward to today... my little girl left the gym happy and proud of a few skills she's been working on, a handful of valentine's day grams from friends, a Darth Vader sticker from coach Frank and a sad face all because her "me time" is over. As for me, I've finally made a few adult friends (SAHM problems) and am very happy that I finally found a sport my little girl actually loves! Did I mention they have coffee?From the well kept facility, the family-oriented vibes, to the coaches and professors...this place is absolutely amazing. The passion the coaches have for their craft shows. They truly take the time to get to know their students and tailor the program to each individual's skill level. As a USAF Veteran and a Wounded Warrior Project alumni, their active support for Mission 22 also resonates deeply for me.If for a minute you think this review is completely fabricated -- you're right. I struggled to find the right words to describe how awesome this place is without writing a novel and how humbling it is to have met such amazing owners/human beings (Frank and Lynda). They say the greatest compliment one can give is a referral and if I could refer Victorum to everyone, I would... and I do. Ever been to a party at an indoor playground party with your FAVORITE friends and relatives where you can just relax as an adult, converse with other adults sipping coffee while having that peace of mind that your child(ren) is/are in good hands? THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT VICTORUM IS TO OUR FAMILY.As a parent who has done extensive research and enrolled our children in some well known gyms, I can confidently claim that my husband and I have both agreed that Victorum is the absolute best and we are beyond ecstatic to have found our "home." They have set the bar so high that it would be impossible to find another gym that can bring what Victorum brings to the table.It was so important for me to find a place that was nothing but positive in every aspect and we have FINALLY found it.If you are searching for a gym you can call home or are unsure if Jiu Jitsu is for you, they offer an extremely generous TWO WEEKS for free. This is a gym that doesn't make you feel obligated in signing up. The owners (Frank and Lynda) are very personable, classy (not snobby), and respectful. There is absolutely no pressure in signing up and the best part is THERE ARE NO CONTRACTS, just month to month. When asked why they didn't do contracts, Frank told me that he "wants to feel like he has to earn our business each and every time so that we do not ever feel like we are just numbers." That statement alone speaks volumes of how they truly care about others and your growth despite whatever your fitness goals may be. You are NOT a number here. They are VERY reasonably priced and are a Mission 22 Ambassador which means part of your membership fees go towards helping veterans. Active duty and veterans train free.Here are just a few (out of millions) of my favorite things about Victorum:THE OWNERS ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE 24/7 and communicate with you. No need to call/email/text- you will always find one of them. They are always present and are the easiest people to talk to. "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way."- John C MaxwellThat quote describes Coach Frank perfectly! If you want a true leader to guide and teach your children, Coach Frank is THE MAN. He leads by example and speaks to your children as if they were his own. There is NO FAVORITISM here. While there are other equally qualified and respectable coaches that assist, Coach Frank works closely with each and every child (unlike some other gym owners we have encountered in the past). He is the epitome of a true and effective leader: encourages, communicates well, is graceful, respectful, honest, passionate, committed, accountable, and is a man of integrity. Most importantly, HE is patient and BELIEVES IN AND INSPIRES YOUR CHILD(REN).  He takes his time getting to know your child and relates to them in a way that works best for your child. He is a man who will invest in his students so that everyone (especially) your child can see, believe, and reach their full potential. Coach Frank also actively trains himself- you can tell he would never ask his students to do something he isn't willing to do himself. My kids have had the honor of training with Coach Frank for a while now and even just after a few classes, I can already see their confidence growing. They have shown and demonstrated that they have learned way more in a few classes here than they did at their previous gym.There are so many details that make this gym feel like home. For starters, it is extremely organized and well cared for. Amenities include: free WiFi, a microwave, free well stocked coffee bar and water dispenser that is always full (so you don't ever have to feel guilty if you forget to bring your water bottle), several tables and chairs for you to sit at (which comes in handy when my children have to do homework while their other sibling trains). There are 2 big screen TVs that display Jiu Jitsu videos which are great because while my son is waiting for his class to start, i have seen him watching these videos which I'm sure inspires him. They also play music but not loud enough to prevent you from enjoying conversations. The facility has 2 restrooms: men and women's. The women's restroom is always equipped with things you may need: new ponytails, spray deodorant, etc. This is truly a positive family environment. Everyone is so friendly and respectful that I always forget I've been here more than 2 hours a day and kind of get sad when it's time to go home. Lol. I moved to the Lancaster area not too long ago and was in need of a place to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu again.  I decided to give this place a try since it was the closest to where I lived.  I must say my first impression was that the gym was spacious, clean, and the mats looked big enough for a large class.  The coaches are friendly and approachable.  They are all about making you better but not pushing you to the point of injury.  The best thing is that it is veteran owned and operated so as active duty military, I felt at home interacting with like-minded people.  I definitely recommend this gym to anyone wanting to start martial arts or have already trained BJJ before. This gym is phenomenal. Instructors are thorough, very well trained and encouraging! We started with just our 9 year old daughter training and were so impressed with the program that we decided to join as well. I love the way that instructors present a technique by breaking it down and explaining not just what you're doing but how and why you're doing it. Also, when the technique is taught, instructors spend multiple days on it emphasizing the various ways to accomplish or defend it. Everyone is welcoming and they work as a team to support and encourage each other no matter what level you're on. Seeing the positive affect the gym has on our daughters confidence and determination in all areas of life is truly a blessing. We moved up from San Diego this year, and looked at every BJJ school in the Antelope Valley. Our former school, 4SBJJ, where my three kids, wife, and myself first started training two years ago, was one of the top schools in San Diego for training kids in a family friendly environment. Our philosophy is that martial arts is more than just developing physical skills. It is about developing character, integrity, perseverance, and self-control. What is also important to us are the family values of the coaches and staff, and maintaining a positive environment similar to what we strive to create in our own home. Of all the schools we visited, Victorum Athletics just felt like the right place with people who shared similar values. Having trained here for about nine months now, the school has proven to be a great match. We are happy with the quality of teaching, with emphasis on fundamentals and technique. All three of our kids have continued their training here, as well as myself and my wife. There are also many other great parents who train here with their kids. My 15 year old son wanted to try a new sport so I signed him up here. A few months later they offered a free women’s self defense clinic. I attended that and was instantly hooked. I am currently in the women’s self defense program along with my sister. We are learning great things to help us protect ourselves should the need ever arise. The facility is very welcoming, clean, and supports family inclusivity. The owners are loving and kind. They truly put their members at top priority.
