How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
If your garage has frost-protected footings, then your project is half way there!
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The floor joists are the key to determining whether your loft is suitable for a conversion. Residential floor loads are required to hold 40 lbs/sf in Wisconsin and 60 to 100 lbs/sf in Illinois. Also, ceiling height is critical if you do not want to remove the roof.
What’s your interior design process?
We approach the Interior Design process simultaneously with the Exterior Design process as it is critical that these two components work together. I personally have professional degrees in both Interior Design and Architecture and have used this integrated process for over 30 years. It brings a uniqueness to our firm that has served us well over the years.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
We don't consider the "style" of the building as the most important factor when initially designing a building. Function, use, flexibility and budget are the key components when starting out. Once Design Development begins, the "style" becomes more important and develops inherently from the programming.
What do you love most about your job?
We love to collaborate with our clients! The more ideas and feedback we get from our clients, the better the project and the more fun!
