I always recommend the butcher shop! It’s the best selection and prices in East County. I love the Imperial Valley Carne Asada, Pollo Fajitas, Maui Ribs, Poki and the BBQ Ribs!

I have been looking for Rick and Deans Hams since the last place I was buying them at closed. I went online yesterday and found out that Valley Farm Market had just received their shipment the day before.
I called the meat department and talked with Mark. He was so helpful and answered all my questions and we talked about the store and some of the history. Turns out I had shopped there before about 40 years ago when I lived around the corner.
Finding an old fashioned butcher shop still in business is rare but finding a small market with so many friendly employees and great selection plus fantastic prices and unheard of!
I am found my new butcher shop and have already been telling my friends!
Two are stopping by today for their hams!

I was drawn to this place because of the BBQ shack put front but when you enter the doors it's truly a grillers/smokers dream. Such a gem: incredible meat, highest quality without the inflated pricing. Great produce and wonderful beer selection. I have been going there for sausage and steak religiously but recently tried a couple of the house made poke. DO IT. When we first moved into the neighborhood, we weren't too sure of this local market, as the little family owned one in our old neighborhood was, well, horrible. But this quickly became our go to for just about everything. They have an extensive selection of well priced alcohol (and always a great selection of holiday gift packs), and love, love, love all the prepared foods they offer. They have some amazing smoked meats, twice baked potatoes, delicious meatloaf, and the best cranberry chicken salad, plus, such a well priced butcher. They also carry Santa Fe tortillas, which we have never seen this far north, best tortillas!

I have fallen in love with your store and the shack.....I just have one problem. Ive been at least 30 times since you were featured on East County Eats. Ive introduced at least 3 new loyal fans The shack has always served up amazing smoked BBQ. BUT something has changed and ive noticed. Someone is doing something different with the Tri Tip and the Wagyu Brisket. Ive ordered it by the pound, the past two times ive gone ive lost my cravings for it. I want to love it so bad but last time i went the Wagyu was not cooked like normal and today i went, the wagyu was so dry and not tender like usual i almost shed a tear. The Tri Tip was also a tad try but the seasoning was not the same or not seasoned enough. I thought i was crazy but my recent bbq converts have came and they agree. I really really do not want to stop coming here but I cant keep justifying the price when ive been let down twice in a row....ill be back and i hope it isnt my last time....PLEASE go back to what you were doing if you did change anything.
