This is an amazing salon, and the owner, Sophia, does the best work in a fun, professional way. I've had her cut and color my hair, and I'm always so happy. This year she went above and beyond for my daughter's prom - look at this! It looks just like the pic my daughter showed Sophia. BRUCE HOOKED IT UP!Prior to coming in I had my hair done at a different salon. My hair was damaged, broken, dry, brittle, anything you can think of but not pretty! My friend recommended me to Bruce and I'm very happy with how my hair turned out. He educated me on how to take care of my hair and recommended products for me to use. Thought I would give another shout-out to Bruce le for always coming through in fixing my hair. (I know I suck! been cheating and hiding from him) Yes me and Bruce go wayyy back since his Salon Epiffany days. That's 10 plus years. Anyways I always find my way back to him because I know he ALWAYS makes my hair look like one of those Pantene commercials! lol Bruce always comes drippin in Finnese. Never a dull moment with him, he will have you quite entertained with his singing skills or his corny jokes. Sophia is literally a magician when it comes to hair. She can turn a frog into a princess without a kiss!! I have had short hair my whole life (in my 40s now) and decided I wanted to know what it feels like. After going to her for my hair for years, I wasn't going to let anyone else do extensions on me. Bruce and I have been friends for over 25 years... Some might find this review to be bias for that reason. However.. I do not trust my hair to anyone else. Ever. I cheated on him once when he was out of town and regretted it. Hardcore. Bruce knows exactly what looks best on me and is always honest with me if I request something he thinks might not look so great on me and for over 10 years he has never done me wrong.  With that said all the stylists at Unity are great. I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want people to steal Bruce from me and have him get so popular that he can't fit me in. .. BUT that would be wrong because the world (or at least the East Bay) deserves to know how awesome he is.  My last hairstylist moved to Shanghai and I almost cried but then a few friends referred me to Bruce and I haven't looked back since. Not only is he a great stylist and does a magical dry cut (!) on my hair, but he's fun to be around and I genuinely enjoy the time I spend there (which says a lot because I have 2 little kids so any time I have away from them is rather precious). I get highlights and he does a fantastic job on those too. He's also very reasonably priced and never rushes through an appointment. So make an appointment, you won't be disappointed! More...

I've followed Sophia since she was at the place I can't remember on Salvio and then to Salon Epiffani and now here! Bruce has been cutting my hair for over 15 years. My family from my sister to my cousin and even my BFF go to him . I have referred many of my friends over the years, they get their hair cut by him and then they get hooked. He has great energy! Our relationship now is, I sit in his chair, 30 minutes later, I look in the mirror and I'm done, love it every time! I had a Groupon deal for a shellac manicure & spa pedicure and it was a great deal!  The atmosphere of the spa is nice. I went on a Sunday, so it wasn't busy at all, so I don't know how it is on a weekday. Marina is very personable, professional & knowledgable about nail care!  I had come in with gelish nail polish on my nails & she took extra care on the removal to minimize damage to my nails. I heard about her nail designs, so I had her do two on my nails for starters.....and they are so cute, I've made another appointment for a full set!  Can't wait! More...

MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF IN EAST BAY!  I have very long thick wavy hair. Very few hair professionals can manage my locks. Sophia cut my hair but with confidence I could say anyone there would do an amazing job . She performed a dry cut, took the time to get to know my hair and the characteristics of it before she dove in with her scissors. Next off the staff is professional, knowledgeable and uncandidly friendly. The environment of the spa/saloon would require another review for itself. This is a gem. You won't regret your experience. One item though if you have a big vehicle parking is a little tight. SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT!Oh and I almost forgot! The best price I've ever paid! I discovered Marina on Groupon and I am SO happy I did as I am now a regular customer of hers and have appointments booked out until April! On our first appointment it was a challenge to get a quick date to come in and see her but once she got me in I was so happy with the results. I was running the Tinkerbell half marathon in Disneyland and she literally HAND PAINTED a different character or scene from Neverland on each nail. I got so many compliments and it looked like a sticker because the work was so precise. Each time I bring her a new picture and she makes my nails look perfect, sometimes adding her own twist to the design and I come out LOVING them. I have given out her card to tons of people because so many people notice my nails and ask who does them. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Marina is clean, efficient and fun to chat with about life, her kids, etc. It's pretty impressive that not only does she run her own business with a fully booked schedule of nail clients, but she also works another job AND has kids who are her main priority (as they should be). Get your nails done by Marina. She is awesome! Super hygienic! I've been going to her for almost 2 years and she is always up for a new challenge. Very talented and her nail art is unique and intricate. She will be able to create anything you ask her for. Some she's made for me and others: puzzle pieces for autism awareness, sport themed ( I'll post the SF giants she did for me during playoffs last year), the cutest nightmare before Christmas nails, and too much more to name. She does her nail art by hand (no airbrushing, decals, etc). She's the real deal! She uses shellac if requested which I recommend because you'll want her art to last as long as possible. The way she does shellac will not ruin your nails or make them peel like I've had happen elsewhere. And my pregnant legs love her leg and foot massages during a pedicure. Give her a try. I stumbled across this hidden gem on day while I was looking for a hair salon closest to my house just to get my hair washed. The decor is absolutely darling in this place and so are all of the staff. Sophia (the owner) not only is a complete sweetheart but also referred me to the lady who does her nails, Rona. She does my acrylic nails now and I couldn't be happier. She knows exactly how to shape them to look natural and doesn't make you feel rushed or demanding. I love this salon! I get my nails done by Marina and could not be more impressed. I get constant compliments on my nails and everyone wants to know where I get them done. She is the only person I've met in the bay area who does real nail art. No stencils or stickers here! U could bring in pictures of what you want or just tell her to go wild( my personal favorite)! She can do everything from seasonal and cartoon characters to water marbling! She offers shellac manicures and acrylics and her prices are totally reasonable especially considering what you get. She just rocked my world with American flags and fireworks for the 4th of July! Marina is "the" best manicurist I have ever had! OMG!  I go to Christina.  When I saw her today, I told her I wanted to change my haircolor.  Yes, I admit I had gotten so lazy that I was using color in a box.   I haven't had my hair done professionally in a while.  She consulted with me first and gave suggestions (I had also received directions from my daughter).  Bottom line, my hair looks so gorgeous I can't stop looking in the mirror.  She is the BEST colorist I have ever had.  This has given me such a "pick me up"!   The cut is adorable too.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU More...

I love this place. Not only is nick Sanchez a wonderful hair stylist but everyone at unity is amazing. This place is a god send. I have had my hair done there for years now and have always been very happy. Nick is very personable and helpful as is Sophia ( one of the owners)Bruce ( hair stylist ) and  kristy  ( hair stylist) .
