Interesting joint with a quirky menu. We have tried the Calimari which was very different spin on the Mediterranean delicacy. I love the Hukilau burger a delicious, juicy burger with a bit of shaved steak and cheese with some hit, crispy house made french fries! The Katsu and Waffles was a delight the syrup for the waffle was sneaky spicy and oh so good. The Special was a Mahi Mahi in a red curry beurre blanc sauce. Delicious island flavors combined with locally sourced foods makes this a gem in the middle of Maryland. The decor is not overwhelming but keeps your attention. Tables spaced far enough apart to maximize their occupancy but not crowd dining patrons. Super friendly staff- our waiter, Ray, was very personable and prompt to provide an awesome experience. The man himself, Uncle aka Chef Kaimana Chee, came to many tables personalizing the experience and enjoy feedback on his delectable creations. Absolutely delicious!! I am so happy to discover this gem of a restaurant. From the poke appetizer and pineapple mojito, to the mussels and Auntie’s Mix Plate (salmon, chicken, veggies, sticky rice, etc. ), it was one of the best meals ever. Great atmosphere! I'm not going to be able to lie to you, yes the food is a bit exspensive. u get what you pay for. The question is , is the meal great I must say . ...it is so delicious... but with that being said I want you to know that it's also in a convenient place, you have a market and go see a movie at the theater. Wheel chair ramp up etc.As well as cooked, fresh, I love the staff there, so friendly and helpful, not to mention that I have been able to meet a young man who has been there ,his name is nnamdi co-worker Wendy they were so helpful with my kids and helping us get to the car and holding the door.I can't leave this out I was able to watch the game, they have a few t.v. there and very clean Bathrooms.I hope you enjoy More...

I'd like to give 5 stars because the food here is excellent as is the atmosphere. The missing star is 100% the bar area service. Victoria is wonderful, it was a pleasure having her after 3 times with Vernon who apparently hates his name and loves himself so much he refers to himself as "Champ" on the bar tab. He disappears from the bar for 20 minute clips at a time. Last visit he wasn't there when we arrived. A waitress served us drinks 20 minutes after we arrived since she couldn't locate him. He made an appearance an hour after we got there, and immediately started hitting on his female coworkers. I felt like I was in a high school cafeteria not a restaurant.Best part was when I caught him looking at his biceps as he flexed them LOL they aren't even that big and he has an awful haircut to match. I didn't pick up on the fact that he rolled his eyes when I was talking to Victoria...husband filled me in on that after we left.On the positive side, every time we have eaten here the food has been amazing. The calamari is the best I've ever had. The poke bowls are wonderful. The queens mix has a little bit of everything and all delicious. The teriyaki beef tastes as if it was cooked on an outside charcoal grill. I have never tasted authentic Hawaiian food so I can't compare this to anything but this isn't too off-the-wall for someone who likes traditional steak and potatoes to try a different ethnic flavor. Delicious. Great food, great service! Hawaiian food is a mix of all the cultures that came to the island in it's history. Lots of Japanese influence, some amazing food . I had the Aunty platter, with teriyaki beef, ginger stirfry, chicken tonkatsu and pulled pork. Capped off the meal with an AMAZING Passion Fruit Creme Brulee! The only downside and a minor one at best, the booths are a bit tight between seat and table, not a deal breaker by far though. This is a must eat place, whether a local or a visitor. More...

Was visiting my brother with my mom and he took us to this Hawaiian place.  There is no Hawaiian places around where I live so I figured why not try. The restaurant was so clean and organized.  I got the Mr. Goo's Mango & Pork.  It was good.  I like the mango and cucumber salad with the shredded pork.  I just wish the sandwich came out a hot so that the cheese is hot.  My brother got the Pork Chop Katsu. His meal looked amazing with the egg on top and it came with sticky rice and Mac salad.  I love the Mac salad and would have gotten more if I could. LoL. He said he likes it.  And my mom got the Hawaii Five-O Burger.  Which she actually finished (she never finishes a burger) which says a lot.  She likes how the burger was cooked and the fact that they had sriracha for her to add on some spice.  The fries were good too. Recently moved to Bel Air and finding all these amazing restaurants- Uncle's being one of them. Everyone there was so nice. We had their very delicious spam rice seaweed roll appetizer- spam musubi. For entree, I had Uncle's Mix Plate- the Beef teriyaki and the bbq shoyu chicken were amazing along with the fried rice. My husband had the Duke burger with an extra patty and fried egg. I also had a cucumber martini which was so delicious. I wish we had room for dessert. Thanks to our server, Mason, and everyone else who were very welcoming. Can't wait to come back! More...

You have to like a certain type of food to enjoy this place. Pork, tuna, some steak, and lots of Hawaiian flavors. Drinks are always good and the bartenders/servers in the bar area have always been friendly.

I got the Uncle's mix plate with the pulled pork subbed in for the teriyaki beef. Overall the flavors were very good. The stir fry went really well with the smoky flavor of the meat. The service was also great. A point off just because the pork was fatty (shouldn't really be large chunks of inedible fat in pulled pork) and I only got half the shrimp that they pictured on the menu (I got 2 while there were 4 pictured). This place is AWESOME!! Went here for a date night last night and it was incredible. The Uncle's Mix plate was delicious and HUGE! It may have been one of the pretty plates I had ever seen and then I saw my boyfriend's surf and turf, it looked like it should have been in a magazine. And it was so tasty!
