Two Beards Deli was a pleasant surprise- one of the best lunches we had in Grand Rapids. Here's why we love it:1) Location: It's in a large space in downtown Grand Rapids, easily in walking distance to hotels and the GRAM. You seat yourself and order at the register when you're ready.2) Food: With 100 sandwiches to choose from, the menu can be overwhelming. If that's the case, ask the staff what they recommend. I ordered the Zappa (BBQ pulled pork) and it was delicious. This is seriously the best sandwich place in GR. I could eat here for every meal. My only suggestion would be to add au jus to the menu to compliment some of the hearty sandwiches they have. Pretty cool place with an unbelievable selection of sandwiches and salads. Â Incredible vegan options as well as vegetarian options, my wife and I split two vegan sandwiches that were both very good and my two kids sandwiches looked awesome as well and they loved them! Great sandwiches. Fair prices. Immense selection, almost too many to choose from. There was so much pressure to choose wisely lol. We will definitely be back to try some more of the menu items. My husband and I ventured to two beards on Saturday afternoon in December so it wasn't very busy. There is seating but not a lot. It was basically clean. I got the Van Dyke and my husband got the Ulysses S Grant. We each got a whole so we could share and try both. The portions were pretty large. Delicious sandwiches, terrible soups, decent service, fair prices. Love the sandwiches here, huge menu and amazing flavors. The soups are always not good though. Mostly lacking the right textures and little to no seasoning to add any flavor. Incredible selection of sandwiches. I was shocked and pleased by the vegetarian and vegan menu options. Usually sandwich and burger places only have caprese/black bean patty/or mushroom sandwich options for vegetarians. But Two Beards has an amazing mouth watering variety to choose from including sandwiches with marinated tofu/blackened tofu/jackfruit "pulled pork" etc. I tried the the Andre 3000 and the Bob Ross. Both were so flavorful! I appreciated the use of vegannaise, various spices, and banana peppers. Very casual place, order first and then seat yourself. This is my third visit to Two Beards and this visit didn’t disappoint. I had the Jack Black, a grilled vegan sandwich. It had jackfruit, tangy slaw, pickles, avocado and veganaise on a grilled tomato bollo. I had a half sandwich and was told that a whole sandwich would include more jackfruit. I’m glad I only ordered a half. The sandwich was good sized and feel it is good value $9 with tax. All of the flavors and textures worked. Pretty tasty hot sandwiches! Just quite a small sandwich for the price.Unfortunately they were out of corned beef when I was there at 6pm on a Saturday. I got the King Leonidas but ended up having to replace the sold out corned beef with pastrami. I decided to also switch out the mortadella and capicola (different kinds of meats) with polish sausage. It ended up being a pretty good combo!!As mentioned, the price is pretty expensive for the amount of meat and sandwich you actually get. I love their sandwiches, especially the Rick Rubin, though they can get super busy at lunch so plan ahead time-wise. Normally, I'd give them five stars but last time I was there I ordered the Rick Rubin and when it came there was no Thousand Island dressing on the side like usual. I looked in the sandwich to see if it was there, no dice. I went to the counter and told the person that had delivered my sandwich it was missing the dressing and they responded, "Yeah, we're out." The absolute best place to eat, at the very least in Michigan, if not the world. Huge selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads, and often times different little stuff like pasta salads and whatnot. Plus a large selection of vegetarian and vegan options. I'm proud to admit, after 6 years of it being my favorite restaurant, I have tried every sandwich on the menu and I can't say a single bad thing about any of them. This place has so many vegan and vegetarian options that are SO filling and delicious. I absolutely love the consistent theme of naming the sandwiches and salads after well-known beards. So far my favorite salad is The Bearded Lady and my favorite sandwich is The Jack Black. Really nice use of jackfruit. I'll just be straight forward, the place is pretty dope. There is tons of comfortable seating and a real sandwich shop atmosphere. A multitude of vegetarian and vegan options, and very speedy service. I personally like that they wrap their sandwiches in paper, it just feels right. The menu is enormous, but not in a bad way, they have 90 sandwiches, but the menu doesn't come across as repetitive.
