My company recently commissioned TNBD to rebuild our brand logos. Tor quickly identified everything that was wrong with the old logo (too much decoration, terrible fonts and sizing, and for some reason a screaming bald eagle as the company mascot even though we are a wine storage company) and suggested a much simpler design and more easy-to-digest fonts and iconography. The results have been better than I expected. Our new logo is easier to read, friendly on any viewing device and has really given us an edge against our competition because we look like a national brand. What makes a great website?
The qualities of a great website depend on the audience you are trying to reach and the goals you are trying to achieve. For an e-commerce site, sales are the ultimate goal, however telling your brand's story is important as well.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who are you? What is your business? What are your goals? What are your design needs?
Describe your creative process.
Listen. Research. Deliver. Ok, it's more complicated than that, but the core to understanding your customers needs is to listen to them. Understanding their business, competition and industry is also very important... so I do my research. Deliver the goods. It's that simple. I make sure m clients are happy with the results no matter what it takes.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Before starting each project I need to know the goals the client is hoping to achieve as well as the scope of the project. It is also helpful to understand what the client likes and dislikes from a design standpoint. Also some information from the client about what makes their business different from the competition. All of these things give me a good starting point.
What do you love most about your job?
I love what I do. I especially love helping companies succeed through good design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my own business to have the freedom to work with clients and projects that inspire me.
