Timber Pizza did an excellent job catering the wedding. They had no problem setting up bars in both the cocktail hour and reception areas. From what I could tell, no guest was waiting for food and Timber was kind enough to box up leftovers at the end of the night.

They did an excellent job catering to the dietary restrictions of our guests, and some of the vegetarians said, "I'm surprised they have multiple vegetarian options that not only taste great, but taste very different from each other".

We loved working with Timber and are so, so, so happy we hired them for our wedding. We had 160 guests in an August 2019 Washington DC wedding. Timber was a preferred vendor for the venue, but we had actually already decided we wanted to serve pizza at the wedding and that we would go with them regardless of venue. A couple things to highlight:
- We opted to provide our own ice and booze/drinks (beer, wine, spirits for two cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks). We used their bartenders and their liqueur license which was about $400 in DC.
- They brought the mixers for our cocktails (lemonade for the ceremony, and for mixers with gin; ginger beer for our whisky cocktail)
- We partnered with their preferred rentals partner DC Rentals which made it SO easy - if you are in doubt, don't be. DC rentals was amazing!

Back to timber - we worked with a few contacts in the early stages - I will say communication was a little intermittent in the begining - however that could be because we were many, many months out (9) and a lot of the actual work for catering needs to happen in the month or two before hand. I was just antsy and didn't know what to expect. We worked really closely with the owner Chris in the month prior to the wedding and it was super smooth - he answered ALL (what felt like 900) questions I had, and was great about meeting up with us for our tasting.
- Timeline: We contacted them in January or so, and then they sent us a proposal. You pick your options, sign and pay half. Then you get down to business about two months prior to your event. Their menu is seasonal so you want to do your tasting closer into the date so that you can get the same menu options!
- We had 160 guests, about 20 vegans or gluten free folks. They allowed those folks to ask for a vegan or GF pizza - the response was FAST, and the pizza (we were told) was the best they had ever had (especially the GF one!) We had one salad option, 4 pizza options, and three appetizers during a cocktail hour (the empanadas are unreal). We also opted to do the ice cream bar, customized it to have vanilla and chocolate. They box up pizza at the end for folks to take home!
- The staff were all SO nice - and we didn't have any issues with food, drink, etc.
If we could go back, we would potentially hire one additional bar tender to help keep lines down (but obviously this depends on the drink-habits of your guests!)
- Our venue did the initial set up, and timber did the switch - if there were any issues, i didn't hear about it - which is great!
All in all, we LOVED working with them, and the pizza was so, so delicious. It fit us, our venue, and our people - you will not be disappointed - folks were well fed and happy and filled to the brim with deliciousness!

We had plenty of stress around the wedding, but Timber was not one of them. Our friend and wedding planner identified them as heroes who were critical to the wedding going as well as it did. The food was great, and perfectly balanced our desire for having the least fancy wedding in a relatively fancy venue possible.

The weeks before the wedding were slightly more stressful, strictly because we didn't know we could count on (in particular) Chris to come through so strongly. We had to bump emails, for instance -- nothing major.

Oh, and of course, the food was delicious. And they handled a lot and helped us make a somewhat DIY wedding work in the absence of a lot of the other support structures they probably benefit from. And they sent all of the extra pizzas home with guests, which was exactly what we didn't know we wanted. Let me tell you: after spending more money than you can even conceive on one day, there is something supremely satisfying about watching your loved ones leave with every last carb.

Lastly, on the note of money, for a few minutes Timber sounded expensive to us. But it really wasn't, not even factoring in that the quality is a tier above their price point. I personally convinced myself of this after I generated a quote for a Chipotle-dinner wedding (which, needless to say, doesn't come with servers or appetizers).

In sum, it's difficult for us to imagine having gotten a better deal or a more satisfying experience from Timber. And that's pretty much the perfect combination after a wedding. More...

I cannot say enough good things about Timber. First of all, the food is incredible. All of our guests told us it's the best pizza they'd ever had and the appetizers and salads were also delicious. Second, the staff went above and beyond and helped with set-up and break down. They also made sure I and my husband were getting food and drinks and were great bartenders. We were having a smaller, more casual wedding and they worked with us to pull off our vision and were flexible with the types of drinks we wanted and us providing our own alcohol (they bartended as well). We had Timber Pizza as our caterer for our fall wedding at Studio 52 in DC, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! Not only is the food AMAZING, the whole crew is fun and great to work with. We had Timber Pizza cater our rehearsal dinner this past weekend and everything was perfect - from the coordination, to their flexibility with food allergies, to the best pizza I have ever had. Absolutely fantastically fresh pizza! With whole, fresh basil leaves and fresh mozzarella with thin crust, you cannot go wrong! Ordered the Shirley with cheese, pesto, tomato, peppers, chorizo and onions and requested to hold the provolone (too sharp!) but keep the mozzarella. We had such a great experience with Timber. Our reception was at Republic Restoratives, and the two work together seamlessly! Chris was a pleasure to deal with and wound up staffing our wedding (it was great to meet him in person!). Chris and his team were amazing! Leading up to the wedding, they answered all our logistical questions and helped us plan. The Timber team was excellent. Chris worked with us every step of the way to make sure our menu was exactly as we wanted and the food was amazing the day of. Had Timber for our September 2017 wedding of 125 guests in Washington DC. They were great. They provided bartenders, barware, serving staff, food, and all the plates and utensils and napkins etc that were needed. How do I love Timber Pizza Co? Let me count the ways...
1) Professional: Chris's organization and responsiveness will put even the most stressed brides at ease. With extensive catering experience, Timber is able to give recommendations if you need them or accomodate specific requests. Chris responded to my inquiry with a detailed proposal based on my budget and vision. He made planning a wedding from a different state all that much less stressful. I knew I made the right choice.
2) Flexibility: Because I was out of state, Chris worked to accomodate a tasting appointment for my sister and her husband to help us make our decision. They even had a high chair ready to go for my baby neice. They also didn't bat an eye when we requested our own tasting when we came to town for the holidays. Chris kindly sent me photos of all of the apps and previous wedding set ups to help me make up my mind on toppings and apps.
3) Determination: Timber's employees fought the odds to set up in the incredibly muddy feild where the wedding was held. Everyone worked together to free the truck when it got stuck in the mud without a single complaint. They helped make a stressful situation, that was honestly out of anyone's control, much better. They persevered, set up and got to cheerfully cranking out pizzas.
4) DID I MENTION THE FOOD IS BOMB This is honestly the best pizza my husband and I have ever had in our life. We have been to so many weddings with the usual overpriced chicken/steak catering offerings where we knew the couple paid a pretty penny for meh food. Our goal was to give our guests something delicious and memorable. We have recieved rave reviews from our friends and family. Timber even put the extra pizzas in to-go boxes for our guests to take with them when they left. Such an amazing idea!

We used Timber as our wedding caterer and we couldn't have had a better experience with Chris and all of the staff! From the drinks to the food to the exceptional service, Timber cannot be beat. Our guests are still raving about the pizza, and we've heard from multiple people that it was the best food they've had at a wedding! Plus, they kept the pizzas coming all night long, and also provided awesome bartenders and helped us come up with a signature cocktail (which was also delicious). Working with Timber Pizza Company was a beyond amazing experience!!! I found them online and fell in love with their blue old school pick up truck. From the very beginning they were super flexible and catered to our every need. The food was phenomenal and the staff was extremely professional. My guests are still raving about the food and the service even after my wedding. We went back a fourth several times changing the number or guests, location and the food. If you're looking for tasty food combined with laid-back but competent folks, this is your best bet. Our guests were so impressed with the delicious food, even the ones who were originally skeptical about having pizza at a wedding. The meatball apps and the green monster pizza were the most popular, but truly, it was all so good! Chris was really helpful, and was able to accommodate all the special things we wanted to add or change to the menu. Their food is phenomenal: it's the best pizza we've ever had and was well complemented by a seasonal salad and two appetizers that could have made a terrific meal on their own. Timber Pizza Catered our wedding and did an amazing job! Everyone was happy with the food and well fed. We did apps, salad and woodfired pizza. (The meatballs are where it's at! And the Green Monster pesto, my favorite!) Additionally, the guys were friendly and professional, day of and through out the planning process. Chris Brady was our primary contact. Such a cool dude and not pushy at all.

Other items of note: Since we DIYed our bar they were happy to coordinate a staff member to bar tend for us. Chris and his team were beyond perfect. They coordinated with us so efficiently even though we were planning our wedding from out of state. Our tastings were so laid back and delicious and Chris' professionalism allowed me to be completely stress-free about feeding our guests. When you're planning a wedding, that's a pretty impossible feat, but I was able to be 100% confident.

Their setup is so clean and crisp, it complimented our simple, modern outdoor wedding on the Bay. Almost two years later, our guests still rave about how we had the best wedding food ever - especially the crab pizza. They thought of everything, including providing our guests with mini to-go boxes of leftovers and making sure my husband and I had a stash of pizzas in our room. It was a dream that exceeded our expectations.

And on top of it all, on the morning of our wedding before driving out to the venue, they made a stop in DC to pick up our donuts for us. So amazing, still thankful for that generous errand!
