About

I provide psychotherapy to individual adults and couples. Research has continuously shown that fulfilling relationships are the cornerstone to a happy life; in fact, they are more important than any other determining factor. When we have fulfilling relationships in our lives, our moods tend to be more buoyant and calm.

Q&As

I’m deeply gratified by my work, and find great fulfillment in helping my clients become stronger and wiser beings! I'm wholeheartedly committed to tailoring therapy to the unique backgrounds and needs of each of my clients. I stay up-to-date on the latest research in psychology and neuroscience, so that I support clients with the most effective healing techniques available.

I’ve worked as a therapist for eight years, which includes private practice and a variety of Bay Area agency positions. For my master's degree, I earned a M.S. in Counseling Psychology at SFSU in 2013. In 2016, I trained as a couples therapist, and subsequently completed a beginner-level certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). In May 2018, I earned a certification for basic training in EMDR Therapy for Trauma. From February 2018 to present, I’ve engaged in weekly clinical supervision focused on Hakomi Mindfulness-Centered Therapy. My experience includes a dedicated study and practice of meditation and mindfulness since 2004. I maintain an eclectic practice that integrates western research, and is heavily influenced by Theravada Buddhism which I’ve studied through several Bay Area meditation groups and retreat centers.

Services

Are you dissatisfied with the amount of quality relationships in your life? Or, maybe your current relationship with an intimate partner, close friend, or family member feels difficult, leading to disappointment more often than excitement? Fulfilling relationships are essential to your well-being, and you deserve people close to you that inspire and encourage. Our work together is to help you better understand habitual relationship challenges, and to gain the skills and emotional intelligence you need to become your "best self” in relationships.

We all yearn for a significant other to understand us, keep us close in mind, and hold us tenderly when we are hurt. This longing for intimacy and security is perhaps the most deep-seated, biological instinct we all seek to fulfill. And it is most certainly a longing that you deserve to have met in your intimate relationship.

In my work with couples, I use a highly effective technique supported by 30 years of research called Emotionally Focused Therapy. With this approach, I help your relationship reestablish the close emotional and physical bond that first ignited your cherished union together. And I help you develop the emotional intelligence and effective communication skills needed to navigate through future challenges on your own, as a loving, united team.

I specialize in helping individual adults overcome psychological conditions that result, in part, from past trauma and difficult family environments. Painful memories and incidents of trauma are often the cause for symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance abuse, low self-esteem, insomnia, and/or sexual dysfunction. Through the use of a highly researched technique known as EMDR Therapy, I can help you resolve or reduce the emotional, psychological, and physical health symptoms associated with trauma. As you work through painful memories and emotions, you will gain the personal mastery and emotional freedom needed to revive your life.
