2 people suggested I go to The Tap for dinner while in Indy for training.  I'm so glad I took their advice!  Fresh fried green beans were Excellent and a good amount to share.  I had the turkey cranberry club.  It was super yummy, it would have been even better with bacon. To finish, we shared the sweet potato cheese cake. It was the Best cheese cake I've ever had! And I don't like sweet potatoes. And the spicy sangria - Yum!!!  Definately going back!!! More...

Stopped here for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night (not sure if they take reservations, but it was packed! Made me wish we made one especially since it was so busy and we had a group of about 8! ). I am not from Indianapolis, but I assume every restaurant would be packed on a Saturday.We decided to sit outside since we were starving and did not want to wait (they had the fire going since it was early November and a bit chilly!). Our server came with drink and food menus for us to look at right after we sat down. They had a very extensive beer menu! It did not take long for us to order.I ordered the Haystack burger (a seasonal item for the month of November). The burger consists half a pound of beef, lettuce, tomato, bacon, gouda cheese, guac, onion, and chipotle ranch on a brioche bun. I cannot say enough great things about The Tap. My friend group has gone to Wednesday night trivia for around two years now and every week is different then the last. We love that the questions cover a multitude of categories instead of being themed or centered around one topic so it's great to bring a large group and try and win a giftcard. You can usually find me with the Tap Fries and the Taptoberfest in the fall season. The Tap always has at least 40 beers on tap ranging from around Indiana to other states, but they always have a selection of their own brews. They rotate their burgers every month so it's a great excuse to go back and try an interesting burger. The staff is always friendly and quick and we love our regular servers we have during trivia. A go-to for my wife and I, and with just one stop in you'll be able to discern why for yourself! Arguably the most expansive beer selection in Indianapolis, with several hard to find on draft options. The food menu is solid as well-- with several options from the thunder chicken tacos to the rotating burgers of the month, you're sure to find something that fits your cravings! THE BEST RESTAURANT IN INDY I am not kidding. The best restaurant with the best menu. My boyfriend literally told me we are only allowed to eat there once a week because I am so obsessed, lol. So my GO TO : the Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad. It's awesome. It's basically a grilled chicken breast with tomatoes and guacamole and lettuce and awesomeness. I always get tap fries as an appetizer with two parmesan sauces (you don't need the pesto one). HOWEVER, they also hold the title for best pretzel sticks with beer cheese in Indy Metro so if I'm feeling frisky I will go with the pretzels.Pizza is never a bad choice either. The Tap is an enjoyable restaurant in downtown Indy! Their menu is pretty large - beverages & food. The atmosphere is fun, too! They have nice outdoor seating, standard seating, bar seating, & a smaller room in the back. I would recommend visiting The Tap if you enjoy beer, ciders, sours, etc. The options are forever changing, so you can always try something new to drink. During my experience, the service was outstanding, however, they did forget to bring out our shareable. Once we mentioned the shareable hadn't been delivered, our waitress quickly fixed the problem & kept us in the loop on when to expect it. I would recommend The Tap to locals & out-of-town guests! The server that served us was very attentive. I like their menu I got the BBQ Mahi tacos and it comes in 2, with chips and salsa as your side, I feel like the they could have put more fish in the tacos but otherwise it was good, it was one of their favorites/specials. I also had the Indiana Long Island and it was good too. I'm not a beer person but if you are their tap beers are $7 for a flight and I think that's a great deal. First time at this Tap. I hate to make comparisons but it is soooo much better than the one in Bloomington. We just so happened to find ourselves here on the way to 16 Bit, saw they had food and we were hungry. The French fries. I can't even deal. Like at all. The dipping sauces that come with them are outstanding. Lots of seating options, outdoor seating looked really nice! It was pretty busy but no wait (on a Saturday evening) to sit and the drinks and food came out quick. The beer was pretty average but I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Tacos, it's a good price for what you are getting! Comes with chips and salsa and the salsa tasted fresh. I had dinner at The Tap with some colleagues last night and I will definitely be back. This bar/restaurant/brewery truly has it all - quality food, a tremendous beer selection, and a vibrant atmosphere. The beer selection at The Tap is hands down the best in Bloomington. They offer a wide array of beers brewed in house, as well as others from all across the globe. I had the Bionic Dragon, a smooth-drinking IPA with hints of fruit. It was easy to drink while still delivering a nice kick.The food at The Tap exceeded my expectations. We started with the Tap Fries, which were salty and delicious. The also came with a few tasty sauces. I also had shrimp tacos that were packed with flavor.The price point was a bit higher than your average college bar, but the quality matched the price. Stopped here yesterday cause I’ve heard great things and wanted outdoor seating. The place is open seating, so we sat ourselves outside and after 15 minutes, someone finally came to bring us water and give us menus. They came back after 5 minutes and we didn’t know what we wanted still. 30 minutes later, we hadn’t had any service and were starving so we walked in and sat at the bar and had GREAT service. The bartender answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations. Our food came out very fast. I recommend getting a flight of beers to try all they have! The Tap is a great place to enjoy drinks and food with your friends! With a large selection of beer and food that will cater to everyone, it is always a hit and everyone leaves satisfied. My personal favorites are the pretzels with beer cheese, mahi tacos, and (of course) Tap fries. I also love the beardliner beer and adding blueberry flavor makes it delicious. Food is always good, albeit the fries can be soggy/cold. Great environment with an awesome outdoor patio. They welcome dogs as well, and always bring out a water dish. They have trivia on Tuesdays and (Thursdays? I believe). They also do $8 growler refills on Thursdays; the live music is fun and sounds great. I had lunch here with two friends for a Sunday Funday on their patio. I had the "that's my jam" draft which has a mix of strawberry & raspberry! Soooo good! It's not sweet like a cider, moreso a fruity beer which is what I prefer. I can't wait to get it again! They also have a full bar if liquor is more your thing. I ordered the shrimp tacos. They were delicious but a little spicier than I like. I would say it was a 7/10. My friend ordered the beer cheese burger with fries and raved about it! Last week I saw a guy eating a salad and it looked delicious.  I had to ask, where he got it from.  He told me The Tap.  I wanted to get over there that same day, unfortunately time didn't permit.  So finally a week later I made it to the Tap and ordered the Ahi Tuna salad.  I am a lover of raw fish and ahi Tuna happens to be one of my favorites.  This salad was everything I had imagined it would be when I first laid eyes on it the week before.  Finally after days of waiting, I was able to taste the savory goodness.  The wasabi dressing had the right amount of spice to satisfy my hot spot!  The atmosphere was nice, and the staff was pleasant,  I would say we definitely made a love connection! A good ol' time!If you're coming to the tap for beers I recommend my personal favorite, nefarious nectar. It's strong, light and sweet. It gets the job done and at an unbeatable price.If you're at the tap and you don't get fries, who are you? They have THE BEST dipping sauces. I promise you, you'll become addicted to their fries. I like to dip my fries in all the sauces at the same time cause I'm weird but the pesto one is my fave. They should really consider selling that stuff cause I would buy it. Anyways, Tuesday's and Wednesday's are trivia nights. It's fun and I always have a good time.The tap has one of the best patios on mass ave, in my opinion. It's big, it's got couches, it's got a fireplace, and it's dog friendly. What more could you really ask for honestly?The food is always good. I always get either the margarita pizza or the club sandwich. The Caesar salad is also good and comes tossed with the dressing which is a blessing on its own.The service is always good and I've never had a bad experience. Went to The Tap this past week and enjoyed some good beer in the sunshine on their back patio! They offer a huge variety of beer to choose from, but also have a full bar so if your not a beer drinker you have options! Food is good, I usually get the southwest chicken salad and then eat all of my boyfriends fries (they're amazing). The Tap is a most beloved Indy brewery, and for good reason. Their on-tap beer selection is truly impressive, with flavor profiles across the board and enough to keep even a die-hard regular tasting something new each time. The servers know their beers really well and are so helpful in guiding you through the menu; they always take the time to learn your taste preferences and make their own recommendations. If you're on the fence, they're always quick to offer you the opportunity to taste test anything before officially making your selection. The service has also always been pretty fast.YES, THEY SERVE HARD LIQUOR!: So while there's no question The Tap was made for beer people... how 'bout those non-beer people? I'd always assumed that cocktails and hard liquor were pretty much off the table here. I've never seen anyone even ask for one. So I'm not sure if it's a recent thing or not, but I can now confirm that yes, The Tap most definitely serves liquor! (The fact that most people do not goes to speak for the quality of their brews.)NEED MORE GLUTEN-FREE BEERS/CIDERS!: Therein lies probably my only minor complaint: their pretty weak selection of gluten-free beers. They do have a few basic ciders and I think 1 or 2 pre-bottled (Omission) GF beers. Which is nice but for a brewery with such an impressive and expansive selection of beers on tap, I would've expected a littttle more. So my experience when I come to The Tap never really has anything to do with the beers themselves, ironically, and more to do with the experience alone. Because my beer options are pretty much the same here as they are anywhere else.AWESOME ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is definitely enough to rile anyone up, beers or not. It's fun, loud and energetic. There's always a crowd, but never to the point where I've had to actually wait for a table. It's also a really fun spot to watch big sports games.OUTDOOR SEATING AND DOG FRIENDLY!: There is outdoor seating in the summer, always a bonus! There are both tables and comfy couch areas out there, and it's dog-friendly. They also have this beautiful outdoor wall covered top to bottom with flower planters, creating a giant flower wall. Psst, Insta babes, it's a perfect backdrop for a cute outdoor lunch pic. ;) --YES, THEY SERVE DINNER, TOO!: I already went over my liquor revelaton, but did you know The Tap also offers a full menu of legit dinner options? I didn't!! Until last week, I thought they only had bar snacks and tap fries (which are fantastic, don't get me wrong.) But instead I discovered an entire menu of legit dinner options. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad. (I know I know, who goes to a brewery and orders a salad, but isn't the option nice?!) The salad consisted of seared black sesame tuna glazed in teriyaki sauce, on a romaine salad of onions, tomatoes, cheese, crunchy rice noodles, and a cucumber wasabi dressing on the side - which was so good and not spicy at all (trust me, I'd be the first to tell you). And the tuna, excellent.The service was again quite fast, but I will say that the server was a little pushy in getting us to either drink more or leave... which I totally get, but we were eating dinner... and not for an overly long time? I come to this bar regularly so I'm a bit biased. This is a great placed to relax especially if you're a beer lover like myself. The food is good and reasonably priced. They have a ton of beers on tap, plus bottles and cans. They also serve liquor and wine, and their custom cocktails are actually very good. The place is super casual which I personally like, I don't feel bad walking in casual dress. Serving staff is friendly and fast and can always recommend a good beer. I have been here a couple of times now, but this is the first time that I had come to eat and have a drink. I really like their outdoor seating, as they have an outdoor living wall, as well as a long fire pit. It's really nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a nice breeze as well as people watch. We went this weekend after the Indy pride festival, so it was pretty packed, but we were still fortunate to have pretty good service considering the volume of people in there.
