Nice pork shoulder, the spaetzle were not that great, the veggies were a bit overdone, but overall a pleasant experience. Will definitely be back!

We were seated right away. Our server Patty(?) was very friendly and attentive. The appetizer Shrimp cocktail was good , drinks were generous, and the baked chicken dinner was very generous and delicious. Had to bring the rest home. Atmosphere is very congenial and warm especially during the wintertime.Third trip here but this one was the most enjoyable. More...

Hi, went to The Stones Common House & Kitchen for the first time. My entree, sole, was very, very good. I started with a salad that was less than what I expected. The size was ample, but it was just a large pile of field greens with dressing, nothing else with it except a couple of slices of radishes, so much potential for a good, decent salad by just adding tomatoes, other vegetables, a little cheese, maybe some fruit, and nuts. We tried the special, the seasonal beef stew with bone marrow and puff pastry with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. It was tasty, flavorful and filling. It was the perfect dish for early winter. We both enjoyed and would order again. More...

We thought the food was outstanding. However, the noise from the bar was deafening. We will plan to return again for an early dinner and ask for the quietest table in the restaurant.

I grew up in Stoneham and still visit my family there regularly. There has long been a dearth of high quality/innovative food and cocktail options in my hometown, and I usually find myself missing the options available to me in NYC on day 2 of my visit. I was ecstatic this weekend when my boisterous family and I wandered our way into the Stones. I had the Hibiscus Manhattan, which was incredibly well made, balanced and delicious. I was impressed with the selection of local beers and the variety of wine available. We had the deviled eggs, fried pickles, french onion soup poutine, Mexican salad and tried 3 different flavors of small batch ice cream. Everyone was thoroughly pleased with their meals and it was clear that the chef and kitchen staff both pay attention to detail, and are committed to producing high quality and creative dishes. To top it all off, the service was spectacular and the prices were more than fair. Our server was attentive, personable and had a good working knowledge of the menu. The ambiance was chic but inviting and it encouraged us to spend 2. 5 hours there working our way through the menu. Way to go Stones!! I'll be a regular-at least every time I am in town! More...

Enjoyed our dinner here. Great mixed drinks. The Italian chopped salad was excellent as was the veggie burger and the Cincinnati Hand Cut Fries, but the chicken wings were bland. The tables are a bit too close together along the back wall but the ambiance and feel of the place are welcoming and fun. More...

Quick service and excellent fries. We arrived at the end of brunch, so we had our choice of the brunch or the mid day menu. I thought the mid-day menu was a little small, but we figured out our choices and enjoyed a variety of appetizers. More...

Food was excellent - roast chicken was elevated to sublime, and the popcorn with truffle and gruyere is totally addictive. Seriously. Definitely the place to go if you like bourbon, which I do. They had several really interesting looking cocktails on the drink menu. I very much regret being a lightweight and having to limit myself to 2 drinks! Service was very good. Noise level was pretty high, I was there with one other person, and we had to struggle a little to hear each other. It seemed like there might have been quieter spots in the restaurant. I had made a reservation, so I wish they had put us in one of the quieter spots, but we were about 10 minutes late, so maybe the quieter spots had all been taken. More...

We were feeling house bound so we decided to have an early dinner; my daughter was really looking forward to a Skinny Burger. We were greeted promptly and seated right away. Our server, Sandy, explained it was her first shift so she was still getting the hang of things. She was attentive, sweet and terrific. Brought us drinks right away, took our order promptly. The bread - as always - was scrumptious. Hubby and daughter ordered burgers - not the best rendition they’ve ever had. Sandy noted hubby wanted Cheddar and not American cheese and the kitchen mixed that up, but otherwise it was tasty. My tagliatelle with roasted chicken and mushrooms was piping hot, but had a bit much butter - looked oily even though it tasted great. Enough for 2 meals. We were so satisfied that we passed on dessert, but would definitely order on another visit. Overall a nice evening, even though we’ve had better presentation of burgers before. Note about the fries - they are fresh, and irresistible; a serving is enough to share and hard to pass up!!! More...

We enjoyed the food very much. The waitress Tiffany was so pleasant and attentive. We definitely will go back. The prices were a little high. Couldn't understand why they would charge $6.00 for peanuts and popcorn as a snack but otherwise we liked it very much. More...

The drinks and the cheese plate we had before dinner were great. My wife loved the Lavender martini. We split a salad and each had a pasta entree. I felt the fresh pasta was perhaps a bit overdone - but that is my only criticism. For dessert we had the baked cookie with vanilla ice cream. We will certainly be back to this restaurant. More...

The Stones is an impressive chef driven restaurant in the heart of Stoneham. The menu is varied and just about everything my wife and I have had over two visits has been very good. The design of the space is very nice with a little shaded patio door the warmer months. On our most recent visit we had an issue with service but the manager took care of us so I'm sure we'll be back. More...

Had a great Brunch at Stones this past Sunday. I got the Short Rib Hash which was outstanding. My wife had the crepes which she didnt like (i know nothing about crepes so I cant comment) and my daughter had the belgian waffles which she really enjoyed. We sat outside in a side knook they have and enjoyed the Jazz musician they now employ for Sunday brunches. Drinks were great, good vibe and I am certain I will be back with guests More...

The Stones is the closest new restaurant to the Greater Boston Stage Company. We wanted to have dinner before the show and chose The Stones. What a lovely dinner! The cocktails were delicious - I tried the Lavender Martini, nervous that it would be TOO lavender-ey, but it was perfect. We got a bunch of appetizers to share, some fresh cut fries, and a salad. SO GOOD! It's great to get a little bit of everything. We got the freshly baked cookie and added a side of the spiced nuts which we poured over the cookie and ice cream. YES! The coffee comes in individual French presses and was nice and strong. Our waiter was young, but very attentive. RECOMMEND! More...
