The setting is ideal. The food is inventive and masterfully prepared, but the service has been somewhat lacking since it opened. That being said...The Roundhouse restaurant appears to have improved its service recently and they are making headway to provide a heightened experience for people wanting a special evening or brunch. I've been a few times and a recent positive experience I had with a large party for brunch makes me want to return. More...

The place really is lovely. You get wonderful views of the waterfall and eating outside is also great. The food is also delicious but it is a tad expensive and the portions aren’t the biggest. Regardless is a great place to go for a special treat and you won’t be disappointed by the food or the service. More...

Service was good, except we couldn't get through on the phone to see if there were any tables free, rang but went through to voicemail. Ryan was our server and he was really nice. Water was always filled and never was empty. We came in on memorial day weekend on a Sunday for brunch and it was pretty empty, so we were able to snag a window table. Even with the dreary weather it was picturesque, with the falls in the background. I had the fried chicken sandwich and enjoyed it as well as the tater tots it came with. My dining companion had eggs and it looked like it was cooked to the temperature they asked for. The home fries were also really tasty. Cocktails we had were also good, but disappointed my mule did not come in a copper mug, but instead a highball glass. More...

A lovely hotel, beautifully positioned in Beacon with views of the mill falls. Rooms are country-urban and quite spacious. Only criticism is the service in the restaurant. Took 60 mins to get all the breakfast items out, and a simple dinner took 2.5hrs to complete. More...

Monday night special is stupendous. Start with a salad. Then a choice of pasta, fish or chicken with potatoes and two vegetables. And then dessert. Everything was prepared excellently and served piping hot. All the servers were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Cost? 22 smackeroos. That's it. Of course tax, tip and alcohol are additional. Even the alcohol prices were extremely reasonable. Great beer selection. Try the Smart beer. More...

The Roundhouse was fantastic in our first visit. The food and service was really good, prices were basically what you come to expect from any upscale restaurant. For the two of us it came to $100, that included 2 meals, 2 drinks and 1 dessert. The best part of this restaurant and most likely the reason you will go, is the location. It sits literally downstream of a waterfall and right on top of the rapids below. The entire restaurants one side is floor to ceiling windows so you can enjoy this view. That is worth admission alone. More...

Tator tots with some fried chicken...can't go wrong. Choose a seat near the window and you get a fantastic view of the stream moving. The decor of the place is also pretty nice. I noticed photos hanging of the what the place was like before. Only suggestions would be to work some more on the Mac and Cheese, it has potential but it's still missing something, maybe add a little Beacon twist to it. More...

We stayed at the hotel over Thanksgiving weekend and had a great time. The restaurant is stylish, the waterfall view is perfect, and every meal we had was very good. The best part of Main Street is only a few steps away. If you stay at the hotel, there are a few things to be aware of: 1. No room service. There is a mini fridge with drinks, but if you want food, you need to pick it up from the restaurant. 2. The water pressure is not great. The bathrooms are nice, but don't expect a luxurious morning shower. 3. The hotel does not provide any transportation, so you'll need to take a taxi or Uber from the train station. However, these are all minor details that did not detract from our experience. The service at both the hotel and restaurant was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back! More...

I love the trend of finding good food in the Hudson Valley as NYC chefs open more places out of the city. This is a beautiful spot overlooking the man made waterfall of the mill that was here before The Roundhouse. We used to visit Beacon and drive past the mill years ago wondering what would become of it. They've done a beautiful job developing the space. We were here in the summer so we got to sit outside for brunch. The interior space of the restaurant is modern, but warm with lots of windows. The service was attentive and efficient. We especially liked the lobster mac and cheese. More...

We had a great meal here - the duck was excellent. It's a cool converted industrial space with huge glass windows that look out on what used to be a mill pond. They backlit the waterfall that provided power to the mill, which adds a nice effect. They also had a really nice outdoor space. More...

The interior was really nice. The staff did a nice job. The meal portions were fair. The dessert was tasty
I had a chocolate ganache/mousse not sure with granola and lemon.
I tried the Skate/fish, it had a strong after taste I didn't expect. Would not have that again.

Outstanding property walking distance from a row of retail businesses. Best complimentary breakfast. Lit waterfalls on the grounds with overlook seating perfect for a moment of peace. Staff is personable and relaxed. Far from the cold feel of chain hotels but not artificially friendly. More...
