I got a great deal off of Groupon. When I called to make an appointment the lady who answered the phone was extremely sweet and helped me right away. I went in for a haircut and deep conditioning. I was unsure exactly how I wanted my hair and asked for Haleys suggestions. When I showed her a picture she asked what I liked about that hair style. No stylist has done that before. It made me think that I didnt really like the hair cut just the style. She helped me pick a cut that would look better for my face shape and hair type.Everyone was extremely nice and super welcoming. I just moved to Denver from New Jersey and was nervous about the process of finding a new stylist near me, when I stumbled upon The Parlour. I figured I’d take a chance and just go for it. Within seconds of walking in I felt so at ease and surrounded by professionals (which is a great feeling when you walk into a new salon, lol). The trendy vibe of the space somehow maintains a cozy living room feel, and the indy/rock music playlist made it all the more perfect. My stylist was Lundi and she was fantastic. I have been seeing Laura at the Parlour for more than three years now. She is my girl and a total hair wizard- I would never go anywhere else! Though I was begrudged by the exploitative prices for a women's haircut at EVERY SALON I looked at (that is to say, an exploitation by the industry- not specifically by the Parlour), I ended up going to The Parlour in Boulder because I desperately needed a haircut, and I was not wiling to make the hour+ drive each way to the Lakewood Paul Mitchell Academy (even to save $60). Rachel Fox cut my hair. When I left, I couldn't even be mad about the price, because it was genuinely the BEST haircut I have ever gotten in my life by a LONG shot. I still think $80 (after 20% tip) is too much for a simple haircut, but I just try not to think about the price, since it was undeniably the best haircut I had ever gotten. I have gone back to Rachel Fox for every subsequent haircut I have gotten since. She is a legend, and I will follow her to any salon she may move to (within Colorado).Specific notes: -She is the only hair stylist to properly layer my hair. I can't explain it, but every time I have asked for layers, I barely get any, and they look weird (I can't articulate why, but I have never been satisfied). The layers Rachel did were perfect- they added so much volume to my thin hair and they were even (not choppy looking if I changed my part) and classy.-She taught me how to part my hair right for added volume- such a simple thing that I have never been told before that made such a huge difference.-For the first cut, I gave her very vague, minimal, confused instructions on what I wanted, and she nailed it. For every subsequent cut, I showed her pictures from after the first cut, and she nailed those too.-She is a professional and appropriate conversationalist (while still being fun)- I honestly can't believe some of the wildly inappropriate conversation topics other stylists have brought up during a cut.-She may be the first stylist ever to give me genuinely helpful advice on what kinds of products I should be using for my hair type (rather than just trying to up-sell me on whatever overpriced nonsense they sell at the salon).-She styles my hair after the cut for free (i.e. styling gel, blowdryer, and a fat, round brush).-She gives me sample products to try at home on the chance that I DO want to buy something they sell at the salon (and doesn't make me feel pressured to buy it on the spot), and she tells me what sort of equipment to use for the best results (i.e. what type of brush, any blowdryer attachments, etc.)-They do free "touch-ups" on your bangs between cuts.-Free wine- awww yeah (and water too).TLDR: Book with Rachel Fox at the Parlour in Boulder- you will not regret it. Loved everything about my experience at The Parlour RiNo. The space was beautiful - clean, modern, great music, friendly/inviting staff. Amanda was awesome - cut my hair exactly as I wanted it. The cut included a wash/head and neck massage which felt incredible after a long week and a blow dry to finish.  I typically don't like the way stylists dry my hair after a cut but I absolutely loved the way Amanda styled my hair. I could gush for hours about The Parlour! I personally see Libby and have to say I love her and how truly talented she is. Libby personally has a heart of gold, a kind presence and you instantly feel as if you've been friends forever. She is wicked skilled with getting my hair to "behave" or even some sense of a style (I have picky hair - curly in back, straight in front and a LOT of it). I'm very apprehensive about letting new people cut my hair because I'm afraid they'll take off way too much, but Miranda was fantastic. She did a great job of cutting all of the dry/dead ends off without making it drastic. She's very nice and easy to talk to! Bonus, the products that they use smell amazing!
