My team and I went to the @thehollowalbany for dinner on December 11th and they were out of mussels...it was the only thing I really wanted and the reason I went. Who I thought was the host/waiter said they were out and that they'd get more the next night. He suggested another spot down the block Ama Cocina (where we are going the next night) he said I'll bring them to you tomorrow. I shook it off because people say a lot of things for customer service and not always follow through...While I was at dinner he (Mike) walks in with my mussels, hot and fresh and packaged togo...he was the owner of The Hollow and kept his word. That is what I call top notch customer service. It's the small things that mean the most. He didn't have to do that but he did. He went above and beyond to make sure my customer services needs were met. They were the be mussels I've had in a long time! Vegetarian options were phenomenal! Everything was super tasty. My girlfriend had a Cosmo and she said it was perfect! Very nice atmosphere and a place to be on a Saturday evening. Food was very delicious and the service was top notch. We were leaving when the live band was setting up and we could tell it will be an incredible night just by the few songs they practiced with.

Have been here a few times, including once for a concert. It is popular and gets crowded on the weekends. Â They have a good beer selection. Was the first place we found Bloodville beer and have been a fan of that ever since. Â They have a great Vegan Philly Cheese Steak. Â Although they offer Beyond Burger as an vegan option, I really wish they would offer a creative impossible burger. Â When they do that, I will likely bump to 5 stars. The waitstaff are great. The menu is detailed and there's a great variety of items. Some of the food can be pricey, but this is a place that lives up to the quality it sets forth for its customers. I have no complaints.

Super impressed!!!!! We were in town from DC for a conference and walked into The Hollow on a Tuesday night. We did not have a reservation and they were very busy but the owner (Mike) told us to grab a drink at the bar and he'd figure something out for us. Â 5 minutes later he had a table for us and the service was fantastic! We had 2 vegans in our group and they had lots of options for us and the meat eaters. Â The most impressive point of our Hollow experience was that one of my friends wanted the mussels but they did not have them that particular night. Â He asked where we'd be the following evening and said he'd bring her an order of mussels, we laughed and said there was no way he'd actually do it...but he did!! We told him we had reservations at a restaurant across the street and sure enough he showed up with the container of mussels, dropped them at our table and left...just like a mussel super hero! Stopped in The Hollow today to grab a bite before hitting the road. It was packed, which wasn't unexpected given it was lunchtime on a Friday, but what was unexpected was the attentiveness of the staff. I was greeted quickly and offered the option to sit wherever I liked. I was able to squeeze in at the bar and was prepared for a wait, but the bartender, Jill, stopped over right away to drop off a menu and ask if I'd like anything to drink. She mixed up my cocktail amid the other madness and hussle and bussle going on and the drink was good, not weak and not heavy handed (which, contrary to popular belief by some bartenders and lushes, does not make a good drink). After perusing the menu I settled on the Hollow Burger. Service was quick, the food was good - the habenero catsup, pickled onions, and seasoned burger made for a unique touch on the typical burger with fried egg plate - and best of all I was in and out in under an hour at a packed bar with one bartender. Always enjoy going to The Hollow before Capital Rep performances. All the employees there are very competent and friendly, but Phil has become a very special friend over the years. He's warm and cordial and always greets us by name. He knows our favorite foods and practically has our order in before we even state our preferences!
