I came to The Hideaway for a charity event that they hosted! The bartenders made room behind the bar and allowed representatives from The Make a Wish Foundation and Operation Freedom Ride to bartender with them to raise money for their organizations. Each group had members around the bar talking about their work and what they do for the community. The bar itself is very cozy and welcoming. The bartenders, that actually work there, are polite and friendly. The drinks were all delicious and well made. There is also a section for sitting at a table setting. Max Gordon from Hideway catered our daughter's wedding. The dinner was exceptional. Does not matter if the order was steak, chicken, salmon or vegetarian. Each meal was prepared to a perfection, with right flavor and presentation. It was very satisfying to see Max around making sure our guests were happy with the food of their choice. Max and his team contributed to a perfect dinner for our daughter's wedding. It will be memorable to all of us. Max is a young professional, with a lot of potential for a successful future in this field. He is very welcoming, listens to the customer's needs and delivers his promise. Now just called The Hideaway, this restaurant and bar has a great location on Park avenue. I've been going here under whatever name it went by for a quarter of a century, and I've always enjoyed it. Last night was no exception. We sat at the bar, and had excellent service from our bartender Megan. Enjoyed happy hour prices on wine and beer, and also an expertly made martini. Wow! This was an unplanned visit which only occurred so we could get out of the rain while waiting for the annual bicycle Glow Ride to roll. I'm so glad we did! We hadn't had dinner, and were wet and cold and in need of sustenance and warming up. It was nearing on 9pm on a Saturday, so the kitchen was still open but only a few regulars were still hanging out. The staff was more than happy to help us, and treated us like we were very welcome, despite the fact we said we were only getting some coffee to warm up. They put on a pot of decaf for us to make it fresh, and were so friendly, we decided to order a couple appetizers. Wow! We shared the ahi tuna, which was cooked to perfection! Which is to say, it had a very brief acquaintance with the flame, and that's it. The sauce drizzled over it and the small slaw on the plate was so delicious we were tussling over who got to get the leftovers to add to our friend green tomatoesAnd the friend green tomatoes?! Wow! I've never had any like these before. Turns out the chef had an overabundance of tomatoes and brought these in to use them up-- so this was a very limited special. I'm so glad we tried it. They were coated in a spicy breadcrumb and cornmeal crust, and deep fried to perfection! The inside was tart and tender, and it was served with a spicy, red remoulade style sauce. They were tasty enough on their own and didn't need it, but the sauce did kick it up a notch. Very friendly, accommodating staff, and really good food. We can't wait to go back and try the fish fry-- which we were warned often sells out early; that's easy to believe if it's half as good as the appetizers! More...

My husband and I stopped into what use to be "Hogan's Hideway". We haven't been here in years and now under new management. Our food was absolutely delicious! I had the farmer's garden salad with grilled chicken and I can say it was the best salad I have ever had! The veggies were so fresh, like they went outback and picked them. The chicken was juicy and tasty. The homemade dressing was alive with herbs and spices. My husband had the chicken salad on a pesto wrap and French onion soup, both were delicious. I ordered to go, and everything was delicious. The Seared Tuna wrap was Devine. The fries were good also. Greedy as I am, I wanted more, but they gave the perfect amount complete with ketchup. It was a great meal well worth the price. There were no issues with pick up nor in using gift certificates. Looking forward to eating inside next time. Excellent. The former owners had dragged the quality of the food into the depths. The new owners have raised it back up to excellent. Kate, our talented and very attentive server is wonderful meeting my special vegetarian and allergy requirements with a smile and charm.
