So we tried this spot for a Sunday brunch..BEFORE the rush. Got there around 9:30 and there wasn't a big wait. They have a variety of mimosas if y'all are into that. A buddy of ours got the French press coffee and it was neat having a French press at French press haha. Okay to the food- truffle fries were A1. Frog legs taste like mini chicken. And the Cajun Benedict. Straight . Super powerful taste. But overall amazing. My homegirl got the chicken and waffles and that also looked really good. Try it out y'all. More...
My friend and I had a nice lunch here on a Friday. It was not crowded; I guess weekdays are the time to come. Our waitress was very efficient and quick which I appreciated. I had the praline bacon pancake and a side of gumbo, a strange combination but I wanted to try both. I really enjoyed my pancake - it was one of the best I've had in a while. The gumbo was just ok - it could have used a little more spice. The ambiance is really nice here. I will definitely check it out again. More...
Everything we ate was incredible. Our server was also, phenomenal. We will be back!
Enjoyed a delicious brunch with great service from Mallory.
First stop when entering Louisiana and always a pleasure. Great food and wonderful staff!
The food is always amazing. Trying to make my way through the menu. And the MIMOSAS.....
Stopped in on a recommendation from my friend who used to live in Lafayette. It was about 10:00 on Wednesday morning and they had quite a rush. I sat at the bar and was promptly greeted by Kristine. Although they were uncharacteristically busy, she was very attentive. The Cajun Benedict was full of flavor and served piping hot. The eggs were poached perfectly which really made the dish. Their drip coffee is excellent and they brew it fresh as needed so you don't get that burnt taste you get with a lot of drip coffees. This place has some serious charm and all of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend stopping in if you have the time. More...
Gumbo that taste like gumbo! ...Oh, you need me to tell you more? Sure the site sits at an old printing press and firehouse and the architecture seems uniquely restored and the servers are extremely friendly. I think Lafayette translates into Go Eat At The French Press? Have a burger War with your mouth against a 1/2 pounder? Try some Hot Cakes with Honey? ...Like I said before, GUMBO! More...

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING...the kitchen was slow and service was nearly nonexistent....BUT THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!
Great atmosphere. Service was really good we ask for recomendaciones and she described the menu so well you can tell she love everything they serve. We had the parline Baco, breesus and Cajun Benedict. You can go wrong with any of this. Even the French press Coffee have amazing. Definitely a most go. More...
This place is incredible. The food was so surprising and absolutely delicious. We both ordered the Cajun Benedict. What arrived was very different from what I expected, but I was so glad because it wowed me! The wait to get a table at 10:30 o a Thursday morning was not bad at all. Interestingly, the day we were there a lot of teens from the local private Catholic school showed up, but there was no interruption to our service and the food was so good I'm not sure we would have noticed an interruption anyway! Absolutely worth the stop on the trip from NOLA back to Austin! More...

Wow d’lish lotta peeps, a bit loud, wait for your food = all worth it - excellent.
Absolutely love this place!! Cajun Benedict is the best!
Great food. If I could spell what I ate I would specify.
Quaint little place, the decor was such a nice touch. Food was plentiful and full of flavor. Would definitely come again.
OMG...where to begin?!?! This place is a great hidden gem. My friend have been talking about going here for weeks and we finally made that happen. I looked at the menu a few days before going but that didn't prepare me for what the food looked like up close and personal (mouth is watering as I type). This place is a perfect place for catching a quick brunch or just casually hanging out. We walked in and grabbed a table. I was looking around while the waiters were delivering food to patrons. I didn't know what to order. I saw this homemade fries cover with an egg over easy. My eyes had seen glory! I tried to refocus my eyes back to the menu so I could find something. The waitress walked up and asked what we wanted to eat. My friend asked if I wanted a mimosa and I was like SURE! Didn't realize there was different kinds, this girl was hooked! So, I went ahead and ordered the breakfast sandwich with goat cheese and my friend ordered the chicken and waffles. That darn sandwich with that goat cheese was EVERYTHING!!! I started taking small bites to savor every bit of that sandwich. His chicken and waffles was out of this world. I don't like Steens Syrup, but gosh darn it, I loved it that day. I will be back to bring my family because, they have to try this wonderful gem I was introduced to. More...
The food is creative and absolutely delicious! The staff is super friendly!
Everyone loved the food, and the trivia was super hard.
Unfortunately, they do not take reservations-no big deal as the hostess on the phone advised to get here directly when they open and there'd be no wait. Advice taken, however as some other reviews pointed out the food does take some time to come out. A friend & I tried a few things; cocktails are a little over priced but I'm not an expert in that area so. I tried the praline bacon and he had the truffle fries. Both were really good however for the portion on bacon (2 slices), $5.50 is a bit much. Again, because the main dishes take some time to come out get yourself an app to enjoy. For our main dishes he had an omelette on special - again for the portion $16 seems high. I had the Cajun Benedict. Really good - reasonably priced maybe if they'd throw it over grits instead of bread it'd be even better? I'd probably come back to try some other things. Also, the service was great! Plenty of staff to keep your coffee flowing. More...
The grits!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ So good!
The french toast was sweet, but not too sweet. Filling but not too heavy. My friends got the eggs benedict and, wow, it was the heaviest dish ever. All around great place--the coffee/cocktails weren't the highlight but they were solid enough to get us back in the door when we visit again. More...
Found this, like all other restaurants we go to, on Yelp. Mixed reviews did not stop us from exploring and we were not disappointed. Waitress was attentive and friendly. She also worked well with us for a few menu subs. Older building inside and out but warm and inviting coffee shop once inside. Ordered the French toast and granola. Granola was yummy and is house-made. Swapped out yogurt for milk on the granola and added a fruit cup. Delic! French toast was amazing, especially with the addition of toasted pecans (see photo). Great way to start a day of sightseeing in Lafayette. Highly recommended and will return here again. More...
Quaint and unique. The menu is unique and the food was amazing! As each order came to its table I felt order regret “oh, I should’ve ordered that!” In true French style, be prepared for a long dining experience. Not sure if that’s by design or accident, just something to consider if you’re in a time crunch or impatient. It’s a dining experience not a Waffle House! Enjoy! More...

The best food and cocktails! Service is awesome!
Never disappointed. Awesome ❤️❤️
This is an unusual place with a very different menu with lots of twists on local foods. We love to take out of town guest here because if the uniqueness. Everything we have tried has been good and friends rave. Particular favorites were the cheese grits, to die for, and the Sweet Baby Breezes. But those who had the gumbo biscuit and the chicken and waffles thought that was the best. The French toast was more like a decadent dessert. Service is slow even from the bar. Most times excruciatingly slow. Crowds are big and the place is small. Plus they often do not utilize all the tables or seat 2 people at a table for 8. The wait times of 15 maybe minutes shown in this website are not even close. Go early and plan to wait. It's worth it but be forewarned. When it says average time here 2 hours that's after seating. More...
This place has amazing and unique food! It’s a must stop when I’m anywhere around Lafayette! Please open one in Lake Charles ASAP!
Lovely, antique decor. The gumbo was delicious but not too hot. The "small" was just enough.
Food was to die for!! Enjoyed every bit
Awesome place, location, very busy, great food. Chicken and waffles were too sweet. Perfect table cloth for kids coloring

Went for brunch, left highly impressed and full as a pig. I should start by saying, the only breakfast item I order from any restaurant is eggs Benedict- every single time. So, needless to say- that's what I got from French press- Cajun Benedict. The description was crazy and I was nervous to get it, but boy, all fears I had were gone after first bite. To this day, I still dream about it. Can't get anything like that around here and it was just delicious. Highly recommend. The cheeseburger and the pancakes were very good too! I mean; hard to top the Benedict because if it's uniqueness and flavor. More...
Great atmosphere and great service!
Food is good but be prepared to eat 1.5 to 2 hours after you place your order. Seated at 12:20 food made it to the table at 1:45. Also the hostess was too worried about texting on her phone so seat us at a table that had been available for 20 minutes. That seemed to be the norm with her as she did the same to the people that were waiting next to us. More...

This place was recommended to me by a friend, I had some time today and wanted to eat breakfast in style, I ordered the Cajun Benedict with breakfast potatoes, I was impressed with how great everything was cooked especially with the seasoning, my server was Kasey who was amazing, definitely will be coming here again!!!!!!
A family member is way more of a foodie than I am practically forced me to try this. Being downtown, I was sketched out because I hate struggling to park. But thankfully the park is directly across with a small lot. Once in the restaurant, it's clearly got a hip and southern vibe. The menu took me aback because I am not the most adventurous and this place is definitely for someone who loves to try new things. We settled on the breezes, the bacon, the breakfast sandwich, and the potatoes. It was all a delightful tastebud adventure! This is definitely the place to go to if you're looking to impress city people! It was pricey, but that's expected of trendy places More...

The food is delicious. However do not be in a rush. The food took over an hour to reach our table. The only thing that bothered me that I watched at least five Waitr orders being delivered as we waited for our food.

Excellent food and service! Great little hole in the wall. Will definitely be back for the Cajun Benedict!
We loved The French Press! They have everything: unique decor, attentive staff and creative tasty food. You definitely get to try something new!My mom noticed how the tables are not all cramped up together.Do get there early to get a table. We were lucky enough to wait only 10 minutes. Yes, once the tables are filled it will take time, but just remind yourself that good quality food takes time.My dad found that their Cajun Benedict was too spicy for him, but my husband loved it. I am very sensitive to spicy food and I found it just a little spicy.I had the French Toast filled with banana with a berry-champagne compote and it was already alluring just reading the description but the sight of it made me dream! And it tasted even better! What amazes me is that it so creative yet the prices are very reasonable. I love how they made their own "Maple syrup" type of liquid: fruits compote and champagne: natural, delicious and healthy. I know that maple syrup is very expensive, and I love LOVE how they just made their own spin of tasty liquid accompanying French Toast/waffles/pancakes.As for my mom, who is Celiac (gluten free), the staff was very attentive to her needs. We had a very bad experience in New Orleans, so my mom decided to eat her own bread for the next restaurants. We asked the waitress to have the sandwich filling only, without any bread. I specified that the filling (eggs, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce) mustn't touch any bread at all, meaning if they put it on a bread by mistake: they have to change the whole thing; otherwise my mom will react strongly: vomiting and fainting. There was no error, her plate arrived without bread. Our waitress was taking this seriously and I thanked her very much. It's a relaxed atmosphere and you eat very well: I would definitely come back! Food was delicious ,Mimosas were great , wait was short , food took over an hour to get to us , only thing negative, loved the old look of the restaurant,
I visited the French Presa for the first time to celebrate Mother’s Day. We arrived early to beat the imminent rush of humanity , and were promptly seated with a party of 4. The atmosphere is eclectic yet unpretentious. It’s easy to imagine a setting from the 1920’s or 30’s, men in their suits and fedoras and ladies in their Sunday best , filling the space exactly as it it now. I ordered the Cajun Egga Benedict , which was nothing like what you might imagine when thinking of the traditional dish. It was absolutely amazing , and in that moment I committed to the idea of returning until I had tried all the other delicious sounding items on the menu. I’ve already been back twice since . I can attest that the Chicken & Waddles Are also very good , but I must admit that I have already circled back to my first choice. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or you’ve been a lifelong resident of the area. The French Press is a wonderful experience that you must have at least once . More...

This place was awesome! Great dinner spot. We had meatballs, cheese plate and brussel sprouts! The food was good and the drinks were too. Great place to relax.
The French Press is hipsterdom in Lafayette -- which means the vibe is cool and the food is tasty. Four stars instead of five, though, because the service was painfully slow -- so much so that we almost left. I'm glad we stayed because the food was good (and at this point it felt like we had committed too much time not to see this through), but I'm not sure I'd do it again. So, if you know you can get a table in a reasonable period of time, you're in for a treat. But if you're on an hour-long wait list, hunker down because you're in for the long haul. More...

This place is AMAZING!!! Do not miss!!! Breakfast fare all day long and lunch/dinner fare as well. We had to do the block a couple of times as sign is not outstanding, so look for fire station. It's next to it, across street from SANS SOUCI. I had meatloaf sandwich and my husband had the grits and grillades. Both were perfect. Meatloaf tender, flavorful and the whole rounding out of the plate was creatively imagined and every little item delicious. Grillades had a tomato based gravy with lots of succulent meat over heavenly cheddar grits. Can't wait to return to Lafayette just to eat here again!! Ironically, the only item subpar was the coffee. Not a good flavor of roast and was old tasting. Wish they offered cappuccinos or small French Press pots. Everything else, including atmosphere of loft/warehouse and especially the friendly and attentive service was so very pleasing!! More...

It would receive 5 stars if diners could have a cracker or piece of bread or a crumb or SOMETHING while waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for food. The shrimp melt and the wrap were very good. Delicious. And I like the fact that the owner is smart. One might say he’s a very stable genius. He probably wouldn’t say that about himself though. Went for mimosas! Stayed for the delicious breakfast food, atmosphere and attentive staff!! Will return!
Aimee Boyd Robinson
Service could occasionally be better but the food is amazing. Great cocktails and a wonderful place for breakfast.
The wait is always a little extra, but its a popular place, so weekend brunching will take some time, especially in a larger group. I just pass the time with the mimosa menu! I haven’t had a bad meal here. I try to branch out and try new things, but the Cajun Benedict always wins (though I’ve had the breakfast sandwich, stuffed French toast and Sweet Baby Breesus sliders). More...
One of the most humblest, kindest and respectable man/business owners.

The best fried chicken dishes and the perfect downtown spot. It’s a must-visit every time I’m in town.
Listen I’m a YUUUGE Trump Guy. YUUUUGE. And is this Justin fellow gonna vote for Oprah Freaking Winfrey in 2020? Seems likely. But I’d sooner kiss Hillary Clinton full on the lips (gross) than never savor a sweet baby breesus again. And have you tried the Cajun Eggs Benedict? Freaking DELICIOUS! I guess the rest of my butt-hurt compatriots want to eat stale apple fritters at the Cracker Barrel for the rest of their lives? Sad! But I, for one, will continue to frequent this establishment. FIVE STARS! WHO DAT! #MAGA More...
Great atmosphere, great food and beautiful people! It’s nestled into an old print shop with a view of parc sans souci.
Props to one of the few quality restaurants in Lafayette. Haven't been in a while but will surely stop by next time I am back in town. Quality of food & service is all that matters when I choose where I spend my money. More...
People are so hyper sensitive nowadays. Just relax
I've been eating here since they opened and the food just keeps getting better. The FP elevated the food scene in Lafayette to New Orleans level deliciousness. I love this place and will always eat here when I'm in Laffy. More...

Y'all....that roasted turkey croissant is amazing.
Best restaurant in Lafayette! Highly recommend brunch, lunch, or dinner! Never disappoints!
Literally have dreams about the Cajun Benedict. This place is super special and some of the best brunch in Louisiana, hands down.
There's usually a little wait, but it's just because it's that amazing! You can't go wrong with anything, but my favorites are the Grits and Grillades and the Cajun Benedict. And do not forgot the Praline Bacon! If you're ever in Lafayette or even just driving through, it is worth it to experience this place! More...
Andrea Olivier LeDee
Delicious and imaginative twist on classic food. Great service.
I love the food here! I’ve never been disappointed with anything I ordered. My only complaint is the wait. It is virtually impossible to have lunch on a weekday here within a normal lunch hour, something that should be a priority given their proximity to a thriving downtown business community. Wait times for brunch on the weekends can be even longer, but at least go in with that expectation and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. More...
LOVE! Great food! Great service! I'm a fan of the restaurant, its food and staff. I especially enjoy brunch with friends there. Their French 75 is a thing of beauty! More...
Justin is a genius in the kitchen. The service is always wonderful. This is a Louisiana gem not to be missed.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. And great owners!!
My favorite place in Lafayette, amazing food and atmosphere!
Best brunch I’ve ever had. Everything on the menu is imaginative and consistently delicious. Hands down, my favorite restaurant in Lafayette.
Kelli Broussard Kaufman
The line of patrons waiting on the doors to open for Brunch every weekend is a testament to the consistency of the entire French Press experience- Louisiana style brunch done right! The Cajun Benedict, Sweet Baby Breesus, Grits and Grillades, Bloody Marys and Mimosas are standouts on the menu! More...
The food here (specifically the sweet baby breezus) is absolutely amazing. Love the cocktails as well. Can’t wait to come back!
Elizabeth Sullivan Faul
Great food and fun atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!
The Cajun Benedict and the praline bacon are to die for! The line to get in should tell you how good the food is.
Was on my way through laffayette on some business. Stopped in at this spot after a recommendation from some colleagues. Man- I loved it!!! Got the sweet baby breesus which was amazing. Friendly staff, cool southern vibe. Would def recommend and plan to go back More...
My favorite place to eat breakfast in Lafayette. No other restaurant comes close. We will be back soon!
Consistently amazing food and staff. Lafayette is lucky Chef Girouard brought his talents back home!
Incredible eats! If you’re in Lafayette, definitely check this place out!
One of my favorite places in Lafayette! Best mimosas too! Love you guys!
Excellent food, Cajun dishes elevated to another culinary level. Keep up the good work.
Since it looks like all of the Trumpsters will be boycotting this place, it will be even more enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit.
Best restaurant I’ve experienced in a long time! The staff is wonderful and gracious, and the food is “Oh my goodness” GREAT!!!
Stephanie Wilson Shindler
I don't even drink, but I'd come on over for a mimosa if I were in Lafayette! Go you.
The service and food are consistently delightful. Cozy spot for any season! Highly recommend and can't wait for my next visit!
Everything I've had there has been delicious. Great atmosphere too.
The praline bacon is the best. I have had several lovely private dinners here. Their filet mignon is delectable! It’s a great place to go for a long brunch or a quiet date at night.
It's always hard to pick just one item on the menu, because everything I had was fantastic
This is one of the restaurants in Lafayette I actually find good, and not over-hyped. I am very glad we have it.
I don't live in Lafayette anymore, but when I'm in town I always try and make it for breakfast. The cajun benedict is a must try
One of my favorite places to eat! The praline bacon is amazing!

I absolutely love The French Press. The best French Toast around... most definitely will frequent this restaurant.
Allison Smith Breaux
Excellent food and service. Loved by locals and visitors!
A wonderful local eatery with great staff that are like, really smart and stable geniuses. The quality of the Sweet Baby Breesus alone is enough to convince me that they would make a better administration than what we currently have. 5*.
Michele Darcé Lyman
I love the French Press and it has been a favorite place to eat when I visit from New Orleans. About to move to Lafayette and can’t wait to be able to get there more often.
The French Press is awesome. Great food, an always-packed room, hipster servers, and a trendy atmosphere make it a magical place. Even if you don’t like most of those, the food is phenomenal — and you don’t have to be a very stable genius to appreciate it! Seriously, go there and begin your journey to gastronirvana with one bite of their Sweet Baby Breesus; you’ll thank me later. More...
The food is amazing. You have to try the shrimp melt and the pancakes. The vibe is very aesthetic if you’re looking for something with an urban Louisiana feel. Can’t wait for my next visit

Food is great! Atmosphere is just what Lafayette was lacking. Glad Chef Justin decided to come home.

I 've been here many times over the years, yet I've never written a review. In short, I've never had a bad meal here. Definitely a place in downtown i come back to from time to time. My personal favorites? Cajun Benedict and the Croque Madame. Such great food with such a great atmosphere in downtown Lafayette. More...
I’ve been there since they opened and I’ve never been disappointed: the place / the service / the food are all excellent
I have been there many times, I bring out of town guest to sample the food, ambiance and congeniality of the wonderful lafayette population.
My wife, my son, & I love this place. It's our occasional Sunday treat for lunch. The food is great. The service is decent. And the location in an old print shop downtown, across from Parc San Souci, makes it even more special to us. The atmosphere is pleasing; personally, I like getting the light from the front windows & door and the view of the park. It's our special spot for a good meal and conversation on Sundays. More...
Food is awesome ..it’s hard to choose what to eat because everything on the menu is excellent ..

Such a plus for the community! Thank you for everything!
BEST EATERY ! LOVED IT EVERYONE SHOULD DINE HERE PERFECT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Great food quantity, service, atmosphere!! I'm bringing more people with me next time.
The only place for breakfast, hands down. Try everything on the menu
Loved this place! A local friend recommended it and we were pleasantly surprised. We are not accustomed to Cajun but wanted to try it and had the Cajun Benedict and Surf and Turf and both dishes were outstanding. The service was nice and it's a cozy spot to visit when you stop by Lafayette. More...
Excellent excellent food and unique flavors. Service is very good and attentive. Sign of the restaurant is kind of hidden or hard to see, I am glad we didn't give up on trying to find it. Benedict eggs with gumbo and surf and turf sandwich were beyond !!! Prices are affordable, they do have full bar also. I would come back again in a heart beat. More...
Good food, friendly and fast service. The space was well decorated and simple, but very spacious. There's small fans spinning on the ceiling and twinkling lights decorating the doorway that makes a very nice atmosphere. There is also a bar in the back, too, and the selection for brunch is quite nice and unique to Louisiana! The only downside is that I saw a small bug in the women's restroom, but I just used a separate stall. Loved everything about this place. I came to visit from Dallas, TX and I must say I'm impressed. Service was excellent and everyone is so nice. The decor of the restaurant is very trendy! Now to the food. I tried the chicken and waffles. They were different but in a good way. The sweetness goes together very well. I would definitely recommend this place. Very excellent service and the food is great!! More...
4 stars worthy. The praline bacon was the bomb. 1st time being here and prolly won't be the last. The only negative was the long long wait for our food. Not really because they was busy i think. But hey . Definitely was good food. More...
I went here last Sunday, and have been thinking about it all week. I was in town for a conference, and had Sunday lunch before heading home. I ate by myself, at the bar.I had the croque madame with truffle oil fries and a small French press coffee. I got the truffle fries on an impulse because I had just heard an NPR interview with the guy who wrote "Truffle Boy" and also thanks to the recommendation of one of the waitstaff. Great move! After tax, before tip the total was $22.The croque madame was fantastic. It was even better than I had expected. The gruyere came melted in to some kind of a bechamel sauce that bathed the whole thing. The egg on top was perfectly jiggly. The fries were amazing, and they came with a wonderful mayonnaise. The coffee was truly excellent, nice and strong and flavourful. The portion size was very generous. I ate everything because I am a glutton, but I shouldn't have. I ended up eating some fruit and yogurt for dinner because I was still full from lunch. The staff was fantastic. I was seated at the bar, and received plenty of helpful attention from at least three of the waitstaff (perhaps one was the bartender? I'm not sure). I got great advice -- my waitress recommended the croque madame when I asked her to help choose between some options, and some of the other staff gave me recommendations on coffee, hot pepper (I think it was piment d'espelette they gave me, but I didn't ask), and on the getting the truffle fries. I also arrived less than an hour before they closed for the day. Despite that, no one rushed me. I only realized they were closing because I noticed they were starting to clean up the alcohol bottles behind the bar. TL;DR: great food, great service, nice place to eat solo. More...
So I am not used to Cajun food at all from being from out wet but I tried the waffles with chicken and it was delicious ! A little too much cheese but so good ! I was not a fan of the Cajun Benedict , something put me off about it but it could be an acquired taste thing . Also ! They make a great eggs Benedict. The servers are very nice here and the coffee is brewed juuuuuussst right . Also the interior is definitely something to appreciate while you're here . Walk around the town a little too . More...

We had a wonderful meal here. We went Sunday morning, and while it was busy the staff was able to keep up with it without unusual long waits. Everything was good. The praline bacon was a treat - IMO only 1 or 2 other places in Louisiana are able to do praline bacon with similar excellence. The grits & grillades were THE BEST I've ever had, exquisite! More...
Not sure why I haven't reviewed before - - I've enjoyed this place a dozen times. Sweet Baby Breesus this time - - so, so yummy. Plus a side of praline bacon, because you have to! My friend was thrilled with his Cajun Benedict. In the past, we've all enjoyed the granola and yogurt, American breakfast options, and many others.Disappointments: My friend's French press was way too hot. There's a reason it's made the way it is, and their too-hot water defeated the purpose of a press. Also, grits and grillades are often too salty to enjoy. But still, a must-visit place. More...
My mom and I were visiting from California and stopped in for Breakfast. Not once, but twice! My mom fell in love with the pancakes. She had them add pecans and blueberries. I fell just as hard for the Sweet Baby Breesus. When we return to Lafayette, we'll definitely be back, More...
Hannah was amazing. She joked around with us the whole time ! I loved the atmosphere and the food was to die for. I wish there was an option for ten stars ! Bravo !
In town for a minute place came recommended by a customer I was educating. Well worth your time to check it out. Neat, eclectic French atmosphere. Service bar none....cheerful and ready to help! Ask for Hannah she'll treat you like loyalty. But as I end all my reviews don't take my word for it geaux and find out for yourself. More...
We had both our marriage ceremony and reception at French press last night. The staff did a great job. Good and service was amazing. Atmosphere was exactly what we asked for. More...
This is my third time here and I brought mommy dearest, who's visiting from New Orleans. I ordered the usual mimosa and Sweet Baby Breesus to start and for the main course I got the Acadian Bacon, Egg & Cheese. Mom ordered the French Toast which is stuffed with cream cheese and bananas. Omg, need I say more?!! The Breesus is a must at The French Press. It's a buttermilk biscuit with bacon, boudin and cane syrup. It's the perfect sweet/savory combo. The Acadian BEC is a great twist to a regular breakfast sandwich, it's hearty and savory. Definitely recommend!! Next time, I think I'll try out the Cane Jelly Fried Shrimp for an appetizer! The service is always stellar. This was my first time dining on the weekend and it was slammed, so the service was a bit slower understandably. However, our waiter PJ, was great with an amazing personality. But get here when they open, at 9, if dining on the weekend. More...
This is my second time eating at this establishment and once again it was amazing. The Mimosa was awesome also I would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast or lunch.

Love the food and atmosphere. I always take visiting guest here for brunch and they rave about it. It’s definitely one of my go to places. I love the Cajun Eggs Benedict.
It was very busy, food was taking a while so they gave use some Praline Bacon to hold us over. It was excellent ! Then our food came. Cajun Benedict and Chicken & Waffels. It was so awesome! Don't be in a hurry, go sip on a few Mimosa's relax and enjoy the experience. I can't wait to go back! The best food experience I have had in a while! More...
The food, service and servers were excellent! I didn't care for my tyme infused vodka/lemonade but that's how it was listed so that's on me. We also had a crab cake but no picture had time to be snapped. More...
Such good food and waitstaff. And i loved the French toast!
My family and I found the food to be outstanding. We are native Louisianans who now live in Mobile AL. You don't realize how good our food is till you live elsewhere. The service was very good, and if you judge a restaurant by how fast your food comes out, then I'm sorry, you just don't get it. Enjoy a beverage and good company while you wait, and then enjoy the delightfully different but delicious food here. We loved it! More...
It's delicious. I had the Cajun Benedict and the French Press, both were amazing. Came on a Monday morning and the service was excellent. 10/10 would recommend
Awesome experience as always!! Just wish Dorion was still waiting tables but I am super pumped about her promotion. She is hands down the best waitress in town!!
It was my first time and I loved it. The service and food were awesome!!
Excellent service. Amazing food. Layers of flavors. My go to place any time I get to Lafayette!
Great food service and price ! Breakfast sandwich with avocado and goat cheese and French Fried Potatoes with truffle oil and herbed Aioli was delish! The Saint Mimosa was perfect.

This place was fantastic! The wait was a little on the long side but I had great company so I didn't mind. The food was delicious and our waitress (whose name eludes me) was spectacular!
My wife and I like to try different restaurants religiously but this one will stand out forever the food was amazing our service was great the bloody Mary's were awesome just an all-around wow factor I would recommend this place to anyone!!!
The food was absolutely superb. Best regional flavor. Inventive. Beautifully prepared and at a very affordable price. A great value. French press coffee was sub par. My big complaint: two and a half hours to be seated, then served. Hostess bussing tables. Too little space for people waiting. This place appears to be a wild success on many levels. Too successful to be so lean on staff. More...
Wonderful, quaint little place. Food is delicious & the staff is so warm & welcoming. I had the breakfast sandwich with goat cheese and cheese grits.
I was born and raised in Lafayette, I left in the mid 80's and travel back to see family often. After spending time with my daughter and parents this weekend we were looking for a local place for brunch prior me to leaving town.My daughter found this place on line and we figured we would try it. I had the Cajun Benedict and was very surprised how good it was. Everything ordered by everyone at the table looked amazing. Mom had the Shrimp Melt which also looked amazing.Speaking with my daughter, she said she would defiantly go again, she lives there. I also said we will go there again when we are in town looking for a place for brunch. One down fall I saw, was the sign outside, if my daughter did not tell me it was next to the fire station, I would have not found it. I originally drove past it and had to call my daughter and ask where it was located.Outside that, this is defiantly a good find and we will defiantly eat there again.Steve More...
All I can says is OMG! Don't pass this place. If I could give a 10 star rating I would. The Cajun egg Benedict was unbelievable. The gumbo is divine. The Croque Madame is superb. I can't say enough about the quality of the food. Wait staff was excellent. Like most restaurants these days, it can get noisy but the atmosphere is great. More...

Amazing breakfast! We had the Cajun Benedict. French bread, boudin, American cheese, 2 soft boiled eggs... topped with andouille sausage gumbo. Decadent! Great friendly service.
A place I frequently go to. Never had a meal I didn't love or a drink I didn't enjoy. The only downside to this place is the wait. But you can't rush quality and it's the type of place you can have a drink and talk while you wait. More...

Yummy! Loved the coffee press! Crab cakes with Corn Maque Choux was delicious. Not to mention the French toast with blueberries
Delicious food, good service. Ummm Cajun Benedict.
My favorite brunch spot, for sure! I love their Eggs Benedict. Hits the spot every time! I've always had great service. The wait is well worth it!
The food and waitress were AWESOME. But the wait was sooooooo long. We were there for over 2hrs, the kids were restless, it's just took so long. That being said, the food was still perfect and hot when it came out I just wish I didn't have to wait so long for it. More...
I had read about the Cajun Benedict and it wasn't at all what I expected (more soupy) but definitely delicious. Other customers mention the service not being on point - it wasn't terrible but a little lax. We came pretty late which I thought would be more like an incentive for the servers to be speedy. Nice and friendly but just not real crisp. I also like when the severs take pride in where they work and talk up the specials. That could have been better too. Atmosphere and comfort and beautiful interior was however top notch! I would have given 4.5 if possible just as an incentive to improve the service. More...
Love this place!!! Alexyses was an amazing server!!

The Cajun Benedict is what I eat every time I visit. Delicious! My only complaint is that the service is slow-probably because they're very busy.
Yelp does not lie!!! First time having breakfast and I had the Cajun Benedict (two eggs poached medium on crispy french bread...in a bowl of gumbo!!!) Awesome as was the Praline Bacon appetizer. The chef here is a genius and every dish is an attempt at culinary excellence. Will definitely be back. More...
I drove from Houston to try this amazing food after reading the review in Southern Living magazine and got there just in time before they closed lunch service. I'm not a big Pork eater it had a heavy Pork taste. I am definitely coming back ASAP! More...
We went on a Saturday morning and there was a wait, as to be expected, but it took about a hour to sit 2 of us. Although I'd have to say the food was definitely worth the wait. We got the Cajun Benedict and French toast. Both were delicious and enjoyed every bite! I ordered a french press before the meal and it was just okay, I think the product could be improved there. Especially with that being the name of the restaurant. The service was just okay as well. Our waiter was polite but i'm assuming the kitchen is small because it took 45 minutes to get 2 entrees out to us. All-in-all, I would go back here for sure. Most likely on a less busy day. More...
Amazing food! I had the Cajun Benedict with a side of cheese grits. Eggs, friend bread, gumbo, etc. it was so good and the grits were covered in cheese!
The wait was long but honestly it was worth the wait. We traveled from Baton Rouge to get there. The service was interesting, the staff seems friendly but also so busy, almost like they needed more employees to help out with the craziness. Plus the location was too small for the massive amount of people that come every day. But overall the food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. More...
Great brunch. I ordered the eggs Benedict, which isn't on the menu anymore but still available. It was fabulous. Service was efficient and friendly. Coffee was good and plentiful. Would go again. More...
charming venue, brilliant menu. i'm truly thankful we looked for something OFF the interstate to have lunch when passing through ☺
So pleased we found this quaint restaurant. Popped in for lunch while driving from Houston to New Orleans. Saw the great reviews on Yelp and thought the menu looked delicious. We weren't disappointed. We ordered croque madam, the gumbo and the boudin ball poboy. The gumbo is hand on heart one of the best I've ever eaten. The roux was dark and very rich. The sausage and flavor in the poboy was incredibly tasty as well. My mother-in-law had the croque madam and loved every bite. Service was good: friendly staff and reasonable wait time considering how busy they were. Great atmosphere (a bit loud) but very buzzy and welcoming. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we're planning on stopping again on or way back. More...
-- best food in Lafayette for sure! Haven't had a bad experience. Yes, sometimes the wait is long however they make up for that with awesome bar tenders, amazing food, and a homey relaxed atmosphere! Delicious, creatively prepared food, great menu - lovely restaurant.
Croque Madame was excellent. I was so happy that I found French Press. From the first time I walked in I was in love. It reminds me of an East Village Café in NYC (identical walls and mirrors as some of our locations). It wasn't pretentious as many of the local fare tries to be. Brought several visitors with me, and they too enjoyed the "Cajun Flair" of some of the dishes. If this place was closer to work, I would order from here at least 4 days a week. :) More...

We stopped for a breakfast and coffee before continuing our journey west, and were delighted with the breakfast menu at this gorgeous, interesting restaurant - the play on the words "French Press" is evident in the printing artwork and antique machinery placed thoughtfully here and there. So much to look at while waiting for breakfast (yes, it did take a little longer than we'd hoped....) From the Grits & Grillades, to the Cajun Benedict to the "Sweet Baby Breesus" - yep, you read that right - the food was so worth the wait - delicious! Breakfast prices ranged from $9 -12.00 for healthy portions of nicely prepared (poached eggs were perfect) ingredients. It was very quiet on an early December morning - and we'll look forward to a lunch when we return. Note - not open for dinner... More...
