In my opinion, the Fit Lab is a comm(unity) where the trainers and clients consistently work together to develop keystone habits and share a lifestyle. The trainers are subject matter experts in Strength Training, Aerobic Exercises, Stretching, Breathing, Meditation, Nutrition and the development of strong intrinsic muscles. Whether you are an avid gym goer, athlete, or novice, there is always room for improvement in your fitness and health goals. I joined the Fit Lab after facing several injuries related to a motor vehicle accident and never expected to make the progress I’ve made in these past 4 months. I was taught, “Pain is a request for change” - the Fit Lab is the best place to change the way your body moves, breathes and reacts to adversity. The Fit Lab trainers have a deep knowledge of the human anatomy and are extremely resourceful, articulate and accessible day in and day out. Their ability to measure and assess client needs is exceptional - the workouts are designed specifically for the clients in the small group and one-on-one training suggesting variations when appropriate. The Fit Lab gym itself is maintained and cleaned on a regular basis with top notch, meticulously thought out equipment. Everything has a purpose. I repeat. Everything has a purpose. The Fit Lab community exemplifies a great camaraderie filled with trust, respect, compassion and a positive attitude. The trainers embody professionalism in their mentorship and are both attentive and patient. Individually and as a whole, there is a great dynamic amongst the trainers and clients where you leave feeling less intimated but more motivated after each session. What I value the most is their passion for continuous learning, embracing efficiency and maximizing their resources. As a client, you have access to their Community Slack App where the trainers provide resources such as videos, pictures, articles and other recommendations that supplement the conversations and workouts that take place at the gym. At the end of the day, the Fit Lab trainers are kind, genuine and relatable – life is complicated and they get it. I started here a month ago to help with my commitments of getting in shape and healthier. I love how individualized the personal training program is at The Fit Lab. I had a one on one consultation to evaluate my current fitness level and to come up with a feasible fitness plan for my training program. They have been so accommodating to my schedule and have motivated me to become a better version of myself every day. I'm so grateful for The Fit Lab and how much they have helped me just in 1 month. Living in the Jersey City/Hoboken area, there is a wide selection of gyms to choose from. This can make looking for the right place to suit your needs quite daunting. It was by word of mouth from a close family friend that my sister & I (along with our boyfriends) decided to give the FIT lab a try … we couldn’t be happier that we did!

Having been with the FIT lab for a little over a year now, there are several things this little Hoboken gym offers that sets it apart from the rest:

For group classes at most gyms, there are usually at least 15+ people participating with only one person facilitating. It’s physically impossible for a trainer to focus on every individual’s needs even if they want to! At the FIT lab, I signed up for the small group training sessions. The group size has never been more than 6 people &, if there were 4-6 people per session, 2 trainers were usually present so everyone gets just the right amount of attention. In my opinion, it feels just as effective as “one on one” training sessions.

Quality is more important than quantity – I remember going in for a free consultation & Greg (owner of the FIT lab) emphasizing the importance of perfecting techniques before increasing the intensity of workout routines. Wrong form puts you at risk of injury & safety is their number one priority. At every session, they break down each movement within the circuits. Once you have the form down, they progress the movements so that you’re continually challenging yourself to become better & stronger.

Flexibility - as a working individual, it’s tough finding the time to focus on your well-being & you’ll often find a million reasons to push off going to the gym. The FIT lab caters to this flexibility we all need in our lives. Greg is extremely proactive in managing the schedules of his clients on a weekly basis so you can always plan in advance & hold yourself accountable against your fitness goals.

Customizable to your needs – the FIT lab takes the time to build unique workout routines based on your specific goals to achieve the results you want. You’ll never get bored with circuits because you’re often learning new movements/techniques & they’re rotated so it doesn’t lose effectiveness. There were instances where I needed to shift my schedule to do sessions on back-to-back days – Greg always made sure that the circuits were designed so that I wasn’t doing the same routine two days in a row. Another time, my sister was experiencing discomfort in her back from sleeping the wrong way -- they carefully modified the workout accordingly & monitored her closely to ensure she wasn’t exacerbating that pain. There is always a lot of thought in everything they do for their clients which you can’t easily find in other places.

Impressive range of expertise across highly qualified trainers – the sessions I’ve been in are usually led by either Greg or Jason or both. Greg goes above & beyond for his clients. He lives & breathes his business. For most gyms/personal trainers, your interaction stops after the session is over – this couldn’t be further from the case with Greg. He interacts as much as possible whether it’s via emails on helpful health articles/books he’s read or analyzing a client’s food log & sharing insights on what to tweak in their diet (i.e. if they’re trying to lose weight, improve energy levels, etc.). Bottom line, he truly CARES about his clients & it shows. Jason is an amazing & fun trainer. In group sessions, he’s incredibly engaging & explains each circuit in great detail. He’s attentive to form & lets you know exactly what muscles you should be feeling with each movement. I’m never struggling to understand what I should be doing at my workout sessions which is something I really appreciate!

You’re not joining a gym, you’re joining a family – in the past, I always preferred working out on my own. Group sessions just weren’t my thing & I really took a chance trying this out at the FIT lab. There are certain peak hours for group sessions so you really get to know the people who show up at the same set time as you. There’s an opportunity to connect with people who all have the same goal of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, encourage one another during the routines, & share laughs about work/personal life all at the same time. As someone who didn’t always love the idea of working out, I can honestly say that heading to the FIT lab after work is something I look forward to. I’m energized by the comradery of my FIT “family” & I’m beyond inspired by Greg’s passion as well as commitment to do whatever it takes to see his clients reach their fitness goals (whatever they may be). If you’re looking to improve your lifestyle & build new friendships in the process, this is definitely the right “FIT” for you!

I've been working out at the Fit Lab since September 2015 and started as someone, like many others, who dreaded the thought of working out in any form. I began doing the one on one sessions and then moved onto group sessions w/in 6 months. Greg and the team at Fit Lab helped me meet some of my early weight loss goals (and do so properly), learn to train properly with a focus on technique, improve some of my decisions outside of the gym, but most importantly, made working out something I look forward to(which I thought would never be possible).

Not only do Greg and the team provided great in class training during each session, but they also clearly spend a lot of time prepping their workouts to be catered to each individual and group each week, as each session clearly has plenty of thought put into it.

I highly recommend the Fit Lab to anyone looking for an effective, safe and dedicated workout plan

The FIT Lab is truly one of a kind. I came in with limitations due to prior injuries and have been very impressed with how the training plans have been tailored to my specific needs. The team is top notch and the place definitely has a community feel. The value is unbeatable! I paid more for personal training at a big box gym and got nowhere near the level of service or attention. I don't typically leave reviews, but I recommended the Fit Lab to a friend and couldn't find any reviews for my man Steve.  I came to the Fit Lab a few months back as I have had issues with an old shoulder injury.  Working out on my own wasn't getting the job done and any time I would try a group type exercise (ie Crossfit) I would hurt myself.  I did not want to go to PT but was looking for a trainer who would help me get back in shape while also showing my proper form and alternatives to exercises I could not perform.  Steve, having a PT background, has helped strengthen my shoulder and improve overall fitness.  As mentioned, I have been coming twice a week for several months and have not once had any issues with my shoulder.  Overall Fit Lab is a little expensive, but after trying several gyms in the area this is easily the one that is worth the investment.  Highly recommend Steve especially if you have any preexisting injuries that are hurting your typical workout routine. The FIT Lab is something special. It's a small gym run with passion and a clear commitment to the health of their clients. Greg, Jason, and the rest of the team are knowledgeable, competent, and motivating. They specialize in personal training and small group classes where each person is given individualized attention and instruction. The workouts themselves are challenging and intense, but also fun and varied at the same time. There is a strong sense of community and camaraderie at the gym as well as a culture of acceptance and inclusion. I have nothing but praise for this gym and the people that run it. After exercising on my own and working with other personal trainers, I came across The Fit Lab and started exercising with Jason a little over a year ago. It was immediately clear to me the knowledge and expertise of the owner and coaches was a notch above the rest. Each session is well thought out based on my individual goals and needs, while still being challenging. I appreciate that Jason spends a good amount of time focusing on proper form and technique, something previous trainers had not done.As someone that suffers from chronic back and neck pain, it is nice that the coaches always make sure to check in and see if I am in any pain before or during a workout. They will also go out of their way to follow up sessions with helpful resources via e-mail. Jason and the team are compassionate and truly care about helping their clients achieve their fitness and health goals. I have been working out with Jason from The Fit Lab for almost a year and it was probably one of the best decisions i have ever made for my self-development.  I now do 2 - 3 sessions a week with him and every time i am done w/ them, the feeling is awesome and I can't wait to go back.  He is knowledgeable, cares about the people he trains, has a custom program developed specifically me and has made me stronger and fitter.  He constantly goes to fitness seminars, educates himself about the latest trends and uses them on me to improve my workouts.  He is flexible in his hours and offers great tips on proper eating habits (sad to admit that i don't always follow them).  I hope to train with Jason for a long time to come as he is an amazing individual who is truly passionate about the work he does. The FIT Lab is a small personal training gym towards the back of town. If you live in Hoboken, you already know that this gym, like everything in town, is easy to get to. If you don't, it's only a 10 minute walk from Hoboken Terminal and that's a good way to start warming up before your session. The gym is very clean and Greg is always quick to wipe down equipment after each use. Sessions started off one on one and moved into small group (usually just 2 people) after a month or so. He takes care to ensure you can keep up with the group before throwing you into something new. The atmosphere is friendly and Greg is easy to get along with. Definitely a more effective environment than the big gyms in town.I've been working twice per week with Greg since November of 2014 and couldn't be happier. He began with a one on one consultation and created a workout that was tailored towards my individual needs. If you're a total amateur (like I was), don't hesitate or feel like this is over your head. It's the most effective way to get a jumpstart on your health. The workouts are designed around personal goals as well as overall strength and core training. Greg also gives special attention to any injuries you may have, designing a workout that will not exacerbate the problem, but instead work to strengthen and avoid future injury. Throughout the hour-long session he will demonstrate the proper way to execute each move, describe which muscles are being used, and why. If you're doing something wrong, he will stop you and take the time to ensure you're doing it properly. He values his clients' time and wants to get to the most out of each individual. Always encouraging, never demoralizing.In addition to the workouts, Greg offers valuable advice on diet and nutrition and will happily lead you down the proper path for clean eating. He has also taken the time to help build effective workouts outside of his gym. Scheduling is easy and he is quick to respond to emails.Whether you're looking to finally start getting healthy, or you need a supplement to your normal training routines, you will definitely not be disappointed with The FIT Lab and Greg. While, I have always enjoyed fitness and training, I have never really come close to achieving the results that I wanted.  This all changed when I walked into the Fit Lab in August of this past year and met with the head trainer and owner, Greg Morrone.  From very early on, it became very clear that training with Greg would be different than other training experiences that I have had.  Greg is just so passionate about his business and comprehensive with his training approach.  The passion you will hear in the first five minutes you speak with him.  It is his business and he cares so much about his clients and making sure they achieve the results they want.  Greg's comprehensive training approach included designing a work out plan that was custom to my physical limitations and  designed to achieve my goals.  He also provides guidance for nutrition and my diet, as well as, instruction on work outs that I should do alone.  The training sessions with Greg are intense but they are also fun.  Very early on you will realize that most, if not all, of Greg's clients also consider him a friend.  The results from working with Greg have been off the charts.  In just 3 months, Greg has completely changed my life.  I have lost 23 pounds, cut my body fat by 4% and dropped over 2 pant sizes.  In addition, by advising me on nutrition, I now sleep better than I ever have and have a lot more energy.  As a whole, I just feel so much better about myself and my new frame!  I can't believe I was able to make so much progress and it happened so soon. What makes this even more impressive is I have a stressful job and the hours I can dedicate to my fitness are limited.Shortly after I began seeing progress with Greg, I referred my sister to him.  I was a little nervous as my sister is a fitness buff who has worked with many trainers in the past.  Despite this, Greg has really stood out to her and anyone who sees her notices the progress.  She now is also referring people to him.  My father in seeing the progress both of us have made refers to Greg as the magic man.  We both couldn't be happier working with Greg and it really is great watching the Fit Lab grow as it couldn't happen to a better person. I started working with Greg at The Fit Lab  four months ago to help me get ready for the NYC Marathon.  This  was the single best fitness decision I've ever made.  While Greg did not act as my running coach, he made sure that training was focused on my goal and went above and beyond to give focused nutritional and conditioning advice.  Not only are the workouts challenging but the environment is great and I look forward to every session.  When I started, I looked at it as a way to get the cross training I would need to get through the race.  Now that I accomplished the marathon, I've decided to increase my weekly workouts with Greg and work on new strength goals.If you're looking for a personal trainer who is going to truly care about your goals and health in an awesome environment, this is the place. I have lived in Hoboken for over 5 years and have been a member of all the large gyms - NYSC (Uptown & Downtown), Planet Fitness, Club H, Crunch - however, I was tired of these crowded gyms with pushy salespeople.  I realized I needed private sessions with a Personal Trainer to motivate me and help me achieve my fitness goals.  I recently started training with Cody at the FIT Lab and I absolutely love it here.  Being able to train in a private setting at a reasonable price was something I didn't even know existed in Hoboken before I found the FIT Lab.  This place may be small, but has all the equipment you need in an extremely clean and inviting atmosphere.  I highly recommend Cody and the FIT Lab to anyone who is tired of making excuses and ready to commit to a healthy lifestyle! I started going to The Fit Lab 10 months ago. As an out of shape former D1 athlete I hated going to the gym. Greg changed that. I needed someone to help me reach my goals. I look forward to each training session now. Every session is different and can be geared towards any sports or activities you are doing at the time. I have seen a big difference in the way I feel as well as the way I look. Friends and family have been asking me about my workouts. Greg has been very flexible and accommodating when it comes to training sessions. He has made it easy for me to set up sessions even with changing jobs and having a different schedule. I started using FIT Lab about six months ago because I wanted to use personal trainer without the high costs that other gyms charge.  After training with Greg after a month I knew I made the right decision.  Greg is very detailed trainer that focuses on technique and makes sure I am getting the most out of my workout.  He draws up detailed workout circuit for every session and in the past six months since I started working out at FIT Lab every workout has been different.  I've noticed a significant gain in muscle mass while losing some weight.  Greg is also flexible on working with my busy schedule.   The FIT Lab gym has top of the line equipment and is kept so clean which was a nice surprise.   I highly recommend  FIT Lab if you are looking for small group (1-3 people)  workouts with committed and talented trainers. I have been working out with Greg for almost 2 years now and the reason that I keep coming back is because he understands what is required to motivate people to do their best and get results.  I used him in the past to train for "Rugged Maniac" and was way ahead of the pack on the day that I raced.  He is a good about trying to work within your budget/schedule and will hold you accountable for the goals that you set.  I recommend Greg to anyone that is looking to stay true on a committment to getting their body to where they want it! Greg is my first personal trainer ever and I am so glad that I met a great one right off the bat. Not only is he really knowledgable but he's patient, thorough and really takes your personal goals seriously. He doesn't have a cookie cutter approach for all his clients, but instead actually caters to each individual. I can attest to this because I've seen him working with other clients. I can definitely see my body changing in ways I've never expected. I came across Greg and The FIT Lab when I was searching for a Personal Trainer in Hoboken.It really was the best decision I made when I e-mailed him and decided to start training with him. It was my first experience with working one on one with a personal trainer so of course I was a little nervous, but Greg made me feel so at ease that first night. I never thought I would enjoy working out as much as I do now. I now really look forward to my sessions.A great thing about Greg is that he is very flexible and is always willing to work around your schedule!  He really is very knowledgeable when it comes to both exercise and nutrition. Experience and education.

There are a lot of gray areas when it comes to the science of exercise and nutrition, which makes our combined 30 years of coaching clients invaluable.
Nothing can replace real life trial and error and seeing first hand what works and what doesn't.

Beyond personal training certifications, our coaches either have degrees in exercise science, or at least 3 high-level continuing ed certifications.

When someone becomes a part of our fitness community they have the best people looking out for them in the gym, and helping them navigate what to do in terms of diet and exercise outside of the gym.

Have a gameplan,

Be consistent.

Be accountable and honest with yourself.

Understand that you can't out - train a poor diet and lifestyle choices.

Never stop thinking about how you can improve.

Everyone we work with is so different. From their metabolism to their personality. So no two days will ever be the same.

That combined with the fact that health is essentially life-long, high-stakes problem solving - I get to constantly learn, be inspired and improve.
It's really pretty fascinating!

I worked in high-end, very expensive studios in NYC for over a decade.

I wanted to offer a similar experience at a more affordable price point for the people I relate to more.

Plus, New Jersey is my home and I love it.
