We had our annual office retreat here on 12/12. It was absolutely amazing and so much fun! The staff was so helpful with everything from discussing booking to the actual escape rooms. The game masters were in character the whole time and the rooms were very detailed. Would definitely consider taking our team here again next year! More...

I freaking love this place. It's other worldly... The kind of thing one would expect to find lost in the depths of an eastern European city, a remnant of an ancient innocent world.

Best breakout room we've tried in Asheville. Think Murder Mystery Theater meets Puzzle Room, and you'll have the idea. The staff play multiple characters throughout the hour long adventure providing clues along the way. They also have a small bar for drinks before or after your breakout adventure. More...

Murder mystery room complete with actors? Check. Pitch black spirits tasting room where the servers have night vision goggles? you know it. I worked with jeff to have this be a stop for a fun immersive scavenger hunt for a birthday. He was fantastic. We did a wine tasting in the dark - at first we were hesitant to book because it was just the two of us. That ended up not being an issue at all. Yes, it really is "dark dark"....the host was very entertaining. If you are a wine snob, this won't be for you because the wines are every day wines you find at the store. But we thoroughly enjoyed the experience as something different to do. More...

We dropped by on a whim and were given a great little tour by the guy working there. We are escape room junkies and this one looked great although we weren’t able to fit it into our schedule. When we come back to the area this will be the first place we go. Such a fun kooky atmosphere perfect for tourists! Would definitely try this before any chain escape room More...

So escape rooms have become my new hobby when I'm not playing paintball. I have tried many different companies in our area. Some are better than others. This one is one of the best I've been to in Asheville. You go down the steps and knock on the door. You enter the speakeasy with a secret password. *I'm not gonna give the password*. Then you are greeted at the door by a very nice person who shows you to the bar area. Full bar here ladies and gentlemen. Very neat place. This is where I took away the 5th star. I totally get it, but I have to do it. It was Father's Day so they were slow so the bartender left early. Had I been able to try an adult beverage I probably would've given it a 5th star. Maybe next time. You're then led to a room to be given the safety instructions and to meet your host. Very interesting. Very fun experience. I won't give any clues. Just know that this place isn't for first timers unless you want to drink and do a room. These rooms are very challenging. Don't be shy though. Jump in. You won't regret it. In the end, we did not get out in time. However, we will be back. We will get out. We will drink your spirits. I definitely recommend this place! More...

We went for the beer tasting. It was a lot of fun. Highly recommended. Get there early and have an old school cocktail. They don't serve a lot of beer but I brought a PBR in with me to contrast it with the Sour, Porter and IPA we had. Sat with 2 other couples visiting. The time was fun, but if you don't go with your own group of 6 friends you're kind of unsure of what to expect from your tastemates. They were amusing, but if possible, better with your own group. Take a ride share, we came home and took a nap before Shakespeare in the park! More...

I've never done an escape room. Ever. Why? Mainly because I'm lazy. When visiting Asheville my girlfriend brought it up and it sounded fun. We arrived at Conundrum and provided a secret passcode to get in. No really. It was a great unique start ot the experience. We then we're brought into a speakeasy area to meet with our teammates before entering a briefing room. Here we went through a quick tutorial before meeting our guide. I won't spoil anything, but the actor(s) who are part of the experience are fantastic. Our team had fun going through the escape room but ultimately failed the challenge. With that said I absolutely do this again and the next time I come to Asheville it will be Conundrum! More...

This is hands-down my favorite escape room in Asheville. They have really awesome rooms, but they also have really great staff. They are the only room I've been to that the staff is in-character the whole time and interact/help in person while remaining in-character. It's a more in-depth experience compared to other escape rooms who just play a video and the staff interacts via only a speaker. Also they have the speak-easy and serve adult beverages which is nice! It's a nice atmosphere. More...

Such a cool bar!! The staff is super friendly!! We did a lockout room for our son’s 8th birthday. My 10 year old had been there for a 9 year old’s party and said that it was definitely geared towards kids and that their guide stayed with them the whole time and helped and she loved it. It’s the whole reason we planned our son’s birthday there. Our experience was completely different. It was extremely difficult for kids and was way over their heads so they lost interest a lot. The room wasn’t changed much to make it more kid-friendly and it was really hard to hear any of the clues over the walkie talkie. We were disappointed. Trying to get in contact with anyone there is really hard. We sent an email, tried to call and even texted like their voicemail said and never heard back when we had questions about the party so we weren’t able to book a room for cake like we had hoped. ☹️ We would love to go back with adults for drinks because it’s a cool atmosphere but we definitely won’t take kids again for the lockout room. Setting: an underground, cozy bar with couches, secret lounges, and live entertainment.Protagonists: six millennials looking to have a good time, the really creative and fun bartender, the actress in the escape roomAntagonists: crushing student debt, loneliness, the cold night air, being soberPlot line: the three couples came an hour early, where they were provided games, including a mini free escape room in the bar. There was live music, Ashley something? She was really good and took requests. The bartender surprised us with every drink, asking us questions to come up with things we would like. Her artistry with drinks and shots made you feel like being at an actual Speakeasy. We found the secret lounges and continued playing games for a while before the escape room. We chose the WunderBrugghen and it was SO much fun. We had never done one before, but all six of us were challenged and involved. We didn't make it out, but we still had a really fun time. The actor was dedicated and a lot of fun, so make sure you bring some cash to tip her. At $25 per ticket, I think it's totally worth your money at least once. More...

Everything was fantastic! The atmosphere was fantastic! The service was fantastic! The champagne margarita was beyond fantastic! I wasn't sure what to get as I'm usually just a red wine drinker but I wanted to be adventurous whilst on vacation. The bartender (pretty blonde, Jax, Jacks ) was very knowledagble & made the perfect suggestion. My boyfriend got a Manhattan & he said it was perfect. She also gave us other great recs for stuff to do while in town. We'll definitely be back when visiting this beautiful city again, and we'll be sure to tell all of our friends to do the same. More...
