I want to say that Anita and her team at the Cabinetworks are the best! I recommend in the highest possible terms for your kitchen design and reno. We had her help us design and plan an appropriate layout for our space and needs. Anita had ideas about cabinet combinations that we couldn't even dream of to use our space to the max. She also helped us understand where the lighting should be, and coordinated with arranging our countertops. We already had in place a contractor that did our install, but in retrospect, wished we had used their team. Our contractor made some mistakes that her experienced team would not have. That's all they do- kitchens! (And bathrooms). They were so professional and detail oriented throughout the whole process, easy to reach, and communicate with. My husband and I hired Anita Colby at the CabinetWorks in Stratham to remodel our kitchen. We are absolutely thrilled with the result! We found Anita (The Cabinetworks) on Houzz and we are very glad we made that call to have Anita evaluate our kitchen renovation! When Anita arrived we told her that we needed someone to hold our hands and walk us through this project. Anita is the wedding planner for kitchen renovations! We had no idea what we wanted. We had a small kitchen and a small den and we told her to design a new kitchen and a much needed mudroom using these two areas. We now have a beautiful kitchen and a spacious mudroom! We wanted her to provide us with only a few options for each of the decisions we were faced with, from picking the cabinets and countertops, the placement of the appliances, picking out fixtures, and even dealing with the contractors. When we decided to renovate our master bedroom suite and guest half bath, I met with several designers because I wanted someone to "think outside the box" and help create spaces that were unexpected in our Cape house and reflected more of a European flavor. I knew right away when I met Anita Colby at The Cabinet Works that she was the one that could do it. She immediately impressed me with her astonishing ability to walk through a space and make recommendations for layout and design which demonstrated both her incredible visual and construction skills and her dedication to really listen to her clients! She was able to design the rooms by moving a wall, changing the heights of ceilings, relocating windows and making all the spaces much more functional and exceptionally beautiful! She was delightful to work with and readily available whenever I had questions or wanted to get her thoughts on pillows, lighting fixtures etc. I would without reservation highly recommend Anita - she can complete the whole project with very little work on your part or she'll work with you making suggestions and recommendations - either way, the results will be amazing. We hired The Cabinetworks for a complete kitchen remodel (down to the studs--new custom cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting, windows, appliances, etc. ) Anita provided a brilliant design for our space, and served as the general contractor for the project. She hired a top-notch team of professionals--carpenter, plumber, electrician, and flooring contractor to do the job. Anita recently helped us with the long and arduous task of renovating our 200 year old cape cod styled home. She helped us with cabinetry for the kitchen and dining room as well as two bathrooms. We had lived in this home for over a decade and had some very specific ideas about what we wanted but no idea how to do it. We really wanted to keep the historic nature of the house intact but being an avid cook, I of course wanted a fabulously functioning workspace. Upon our first meeting I had every confidence Anita would produce something spectacular, but she truly went above and beyond. Her design opened the dining room to the kitchen and made the whole space seem 10 times bigger and brighter. We broke the galley-like kitchen into two areas with mixed finishes and she made them flow together perfectly, retaining the warm feel of the older space while making it much more storage friendly. Anita meet ever one of our requests and delivered on them in a way that brought them all cohesively together. Anita did a fabulous job with the redesign and implementation projects we had!
She seamlessly integrated a cabinetry addition to the kitchen, not an easy task!
rebuilt an modernized our main floor half bath and rebuilt our master bedroom bathroom into a true "master bath". On the latter she used the space very effectively, had great options to save us money and the end product was spectacular.

I have known Anita for many years. I am a builder/ income property owner. I have referred numerous people to her and all who have dealt with her have been very pleased. We recently bought cabinets and countertop through her for our own residence. Anita Colby owner of The Cabinetworks is a genius. She can walk into a room and see what no one else can. She walked into a house that I had just bought in a short sale. It had been abandoned by the previous owners and had a kitchen stripped of appliances and fixtures and a jagged corian countertop island. I asked Anita for renovation suggestions. She asked me a lot of questions to get an understanding of how I cooked, what was important to me in a kitchen and what my taste was like. She went home and at 3 am I received an email from her telling me she had designed a new kitchen and the drawings were attached. It was absolutely incredible I was dumbfounded! She totally listened to me and made my dream kitchen a reality and at a cost that was within my budget. We ended up gutting the original structure and building a designer show house kitchen like none other. My kitchen has been invited to be on numerous kitchen tours although I have only accepted one and the feedback has been amazing. My kitchen is not only beautiful and unique but totally efficient and user friendly. Anita thought of everything to enable me to cook and entertain like Martha Stewart or Mario Battali! Anita has a gift that you will never find anywhere else. She can look at a space in any condition and visualize the finished product which she professional draws herself to scale. Anita has the amazing ability to look at a space and know exactly how the kitchen should be designed and she usually has finished plans in your hands the next day. She has designed three kitchens for me - I would never work with anyone else. She is a woman - she knows exactly how a kitchen is supposed to function. Everything is always in the right place. Anita was tasked with the assignment of designing a new kitchen within the great room in our lakeside log cabin. We threw our wish list at her: Rustic, beautiful and functional for a reasonable price, minimal timeline while also coordinating the tear out and installation schedule with the flooring company we'd hired to remove old flooring and install new! Pretty tall order! Anita pulled it off and we couldn't be more pleased! She thinks outside the box and we ended up with a totally new footprint in the kitchen area of our great room! We found The Cabinet Works through our general contractor. We had already had one estimate from another local kitchen center, but their pricing was much higher than we anticipated. When we explained to Anita that we were not looking to put a BMW engine into a VW (our house is a modest Cape), she helped us find the perfect balance between quality and price. She also made some really sound recommendations in terms of the kitchen layout, which is now in its final phases of completion. The cabinets and countertops (quartz) arrived on time, and Anita personally took inventory to ensure that nothing was missing or damaged. The company that she contracted with to do the countertops was top notch -- everyone we dealt with was professional and prompt and it was obvious that they took great pride in their work. We have a 100+ yr old farm house that we tore the kitchen out down to the studs.

The Cabinetworks remodeled the whole Kitchen with beautiful Plain N Fancy Cabinets and a center Island of Cherry with beautiful granite countertops.

The attention to detail was awesome and everything fit perfectly down to the corner stove, industrial range hood and pull out cabinet for canned goods.

Our house was also on the Kitchen tour for Exeter that year and we still receive glowing complements any time anyone enters our home.

Anita is talented and the cabinets/counters are absolutely beautiful. And for that reason I would recommend her.
However, I felt there were some areas that need improvement. I would have liked input when the cabinets were being ordered regarding the size and placement of drawers verses cabinets and what is inside said drawers and cabinets. Also regarding glass doors. I guess I didn't understand exactly what was being ordered and therefor I am not completely happy with that particular design feature. Additionally, understanding that these projects often experience delays, it's important for professionals to communicate these delays to the customer.

For anyone about to begin a kitchen renovation, keep in mind, this is your money and your kitchen, so don't be afraid or hesitate to get involved. That was my mistake not The Cabinetworks.

Anita gave us our dream kitchen! When we decided to remodel our 15 year old colonial with builder grade golden oak cabinets, we approached 3 different designers giving each the same list of wants. The other two designers provided basic designs that a big box store could have done as well. Anita went way outside the box and provided us with a magazine-ready, yet totally functional kitchen. All her subs were first class and our entire project was finished on time.
