We can’t say enough good things about David and the whole Bureau of Small Projects team. From our preliminary calls to our finishing touches, they made sure every detail was exactly to our liking and did not rest until our site was absolutely perfect. They were incredibly enthusiastic throughout the entire process and incredibly patient with our busy schedules and worked with us to best suit our needs. Q&As

First and foremost, great imagery. People take milliseconds to decide if they want to stay on a site or leave. This is not enough time to read text or appreciate the nuances of the design. If the imagery doesn't grab them then they will be gone before you can tell them what you do.

What is your value proposition? In short: what do you do different and better than anyone else? If you can answer this then marketing is a piece of cake.

We build a LOT of websites, and this gives me a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a LOT of businesses. Being a serial entrepreneur, I LOVE to see how other businesses operate and I love to be able to se what works and what doesn't. And my biggest joy is when I see something that I never thought of before.

I used to be a partner in a firm that built massive e-commerce websites for Big Brands and Fortune 500 Companies. Then a few years back - as a side project - I directed a feature length documentary called Kindness Is Contagious, a film all about being nice and the benefits of being nice. It was around the time of the real estate bubble and I thought that people just needed to start being nicer to each other.


While filming, we interviewed the founders of a lot of non-profits and innovative start ups. People who were making a difference in the world as their JOB.


And I asked myself: "What could I do to make a difference in the world as my job?" And it came to me. I've spent my entire career making Big Brands and Fortune 500 Companies tons of money. What if I repurposed all the digital tools we've developed for these big companies and used them to help the people making a difference succeeded? So I created The Bureau Of Small Projects - the name was to differentiate us from the massive projects we were doing - as an incubator within my old firm.


Then, I enjoyed that work so much, 4 years ago I spun it off into it';s own company and never looked back.
