I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company! Amy Collins helped us tremendously from day one and was professional and timely in getting back to us with our endless questions. She helped make a stressful planning process so much easier and smoother. The day of the event, another Shannon was in charge and did a sensational job, covering all of the bases from set up to the food to the bars and to the dessert stations. Our venue actually had three separate buildings that we used for cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception, which made it extra challenging. Everything went so smoothly, it was truly incredible! We did a family style meal which everyone loved! The food was absolutely delicious with gorgeous presentation. They were accommodating to our guests that were vegetarian. The selection of food makes it easy to come up with a full menu and stay within your budget. My husband and I are so pleased that we chose Black Tie. From our first meeting on, I never worried about the food, which is in my opinion such an important piece of the wedding day. I had the best food I have ever had at a wedding that The Black Tie Company catered on August 20th. It was in a beautiful Maine barn, with happy, excited, loquacious friends and family who held up dinner for way over an hour and it was perfect and delicious. My husband and I worked with Heather Dusty and the Black Tie Company to plan our wedding at the Harbor View at Jones Landing. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Heather and Black Tie. I was planning this wedding from California, and Heather made the whole process easy and painless. It was such a cool moment seeing my entire vision come together - it was the wedding that I have been dreaming about since I was little! Heather was also great about giving recommendations when I was at a loss or didn't know where to start - just the right balance of helpful without ever being pushy.

Heather also really helped working with other vendors. She always had a contact ready for whatever new detail I found out I needed (menus, programs, linens, etc.) and offered to coordinate. She helped coordinate communication even with vendors/partners that were particularly uncommunicative, which saved a lot of headaches.

The food was incredible, and the staff awesome. We worked with a phenomenal dessert chef who made my hydrangea, blueberry cake vision come to life - complete with ski cake topper.

I worked closely with Amy Collins planning my wedding on August 12th, 2017 at Josias River Farm. Amy was AMAZING to work with! She is knowledgable, organized, and just an all around sweet person! I felt totally confident in The Black Tie Co. and that security allowed me to truly enjoy my wedding. The food was as delicious as it was beautiful and we heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests. Many people have told us that it was the best meal they've ever had at a wedding - and we agree!

I absolutely love this company!!! I have so many great things to say so I apologize in advance for this long review...

My husband and I got married this past May in Fryeburg Maine and we can not say enough great things about this company!! Because the venue we used did not have an onsight caterer, or bar service, we had to do everything ourselves which made the process very overwhelming in the beginning. My mom was actually the one who found Black Tie and I am SOOOO grateful she did! The second I messaged them, they were so accommodating! We were able to book our wedding planner, food, rentals, bar service, and wedding cake through them and it was the best decision we made!!

I originally wasn't going to have a wedding planner, but i am so glad i changed my mind!! We worked with Heather Dusty who made the wedding planning process so fun and easygoing. She listened to all of our ideas and brought them to life and really helped take alot of the stress away from me. She handled everything from ordering plates and napkins, to the dance floor and floor plan. And even when the planning process hit a few speed bumps, she was right there to help me ever step of the way! She would periodically send check in emails and was so organized I could actually enjoy every step of the planning process and not worry about forgetting something. I am 100% sure our wedding day would have been a thousand times more stressful without her and her team. I feel like she wasnt just someone we hired, but a friend and I will recommend her to everyone!


THE FOOD!!! Everyone knows about the traditional wedding food that everyone eats but no one really enjoys....let me just say, Black Tie knows how to do wedding food!! Even a month and a half later, my guests are still talking about how amazing it was! Everything was spectacular! Even the presentation was beyond beautiful!! They even accommodated for ny family with celiac disease. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and were very attentive to my family.

Because we did not want to do a large cake we opted for a dessert station instead and a very small cake just for the ceremony. Ashley did an amazing job putting all our ideas together and created a breathtaking dessert station! Every detail was thought out and executed flawlessly.

The clean up and trash removal at the end of the night was also a big stress reliever! I had no clue some companies dont do that, so to find out they did was great!

If you are looking for a company who knows how to do weddings, this is the company!

Nicky helped make our wedding the most enjoyable, relaxing day we could have ever imagined. Helping with logistics, storage and other vendors were just a few of the ways she made the stress-filled process of having a wedding, completely stress-free. The location and view were breathtaking and we got sooo lucky with a gorgeous day to top it off. The staff the day of were just perfect. One of the servers was on a mission to make sure my husband and I tried every piece of food we had ordered and always had a drink in our hand. Every single server and bartender was enjoyable to talk to, quick to resolve any issue (which i don't think we had any, at least none that i knew of) and were extremely helpful when it came time to pack everything up at the end of the night. The food was AMAZING as well! We had lobster, steak and a chicken dish, all got rave reviews from family and friends. And the desserts...OMG! The months leading up to the wedding, Kelcey was available to give us quick responses to any of our questions. The food was amazing. Our guests gave us so many compliments about the food for Black Tie. We had everything from passed horderves, stationary horderves, a catered buffet, and a large dessert station and it was all amazing! Keith was the captain at our wedding for Black Tie, and is absolutely incredible! He was very communicative and was always there if we needed anything. He worked extremely well with our vendors and always checked with us throughout the evening to make sure everything was going fine. Thank you again Keith!

We could not have been happier with our choice to use Black Tie for our wedding. The guests are still raving about the food. They executed our vision of New Orleans meets New England beautifully. The oyster bar was a hit and the oyster shucker even sent us home with the oyster shells we used for our photo as a memento. I can’t say enough how happy we were with their food and service. I would have loved the presentation to be a little better, was not expecting sternos on a basic banquet table - but if you know that in advance and can address it, I know you’ll be more than pleased to have BTC cater your event! They pulled off a complete party for 40 people in less than two weeks. They provided the furniture, dinner ware, food, alchohol and soft drinks. Most of my guests commented favorably on the food and the fact that the staff was constantly asking people if they could get them something. From our very first meeting, to the day of our wedding (and the numerous emails In between! ), Amy Collins was there every step of the way and was absolutely amazing to work with! She truly went above and beyond in helping us to facilitate and experience the most perfect day possible!
Also, THE FOOD!! Can I just say that there was not a single thing we tried at our food tasting that we didn't like? Also, our family and friends cannot stop talking about how AMAZING the food and BTC staff were at our rehearsal dinner and wedding!

The Black Tie is nothing short of excellent. I went to a wedding catered and planned by The Black Tie and was pleased with everything! Usually food at weddings can be mediocre, but the food was great! My hubbie and I couldn’t get enough of the fried mac & cheese bites, yum! They accommodate anyone with allergies, my mom is dairy free and they made her a special meal. The staff were attentive and offered a friendly face. The event planner was organized and was willing to jump through hoops to make sure the bride did not have to lift a finger during her special day. After having such a great experience with Black Tie, I decided to try their bistro in portland called “Union Kitchen”. My expectations were blown out of the water. I hired Black Tie for my combination 50th bday/retirement/moving to Maine celebration. Approx 90 guests participated, about half of whom had come in from other cities/countries. From the moment I sat down with event planner Amy Collins, I knew I could relax and leave the details to her.
