My dog has been going to Country Canine for several months. I cannot say enough positive things about the owners and staff. I feel like my dog is well cared for and gets the activity he needs. As soon as he gets out of the car he runs to get inside to be with his day care friends. That is all I need to see to know that he is very happy there. More...

Country Canine takes excellent care of my insanely hyper dog, and have been doing so for over 5 years now. The price is very affordable (it's long gone up $4 in 5 years, at or below inflation) despite the fact that there are sometimes waitlists on certain days. It's a place where you will need to create a regular schedule and can't drop in last minute - they'll likely be at capacity. The people who work there are great & it's very clear that they care about all of the dogs. And my dog loves it. She gets excited when I tell her we're going, and despite being a 6 year old hyperactive spaniel, she always comes home and is content to just chill out or fall asleep at the end of the day. More...

Our dog Gunner has been at Country Canine for only 2 months, but I can't say enough great things! He has some anxiety issues, and the staff has always been quick to respond to any phone calls or emails I have sent. The facility itself is very simple, but I personally like that because dogs just don't want to have fun, they don't need a state of the art facility. The staff are obviously all huge dog lovers and really care about the work that they do! I knew we had made the right choice when three different individuals told us that they had been bringing their dogs for 10, 13, and 15 years respectively! More...

The original review is still below and everything in it is still true and applicable. It has now been over 4 years and our dog -- Riley (who has the same level of energy at age 6 than she did as a puppy) -- still goes to Country Canine and we're still seeing the same very positive benefits as previously. The staff continues to be friendly and they are clearly passionate about dogs. They've brought in various new staff over the years and every one of them has done a fantastic job.If you have a dog with boundless energy and are looking for something to help them get some of that energy out, or if you have a dog that just doesn't get the opportunity to get out of the house enough and interact with other dogs and want them to enjoy a happier, more social life, I highly recommend giving Country Canine a try. I have been nothing but happy with CC dog care! The staff is wonderful, caring and knowledgeable, and my dog loves going there! He was an abused dog when I got him, but with the help of this team of professionals, he has learned to trust people and dogs. I highly recommend Country Canine! More...

We miss bringing Moxie, our Boston Terrier/ French bulldog mix to Country Canine!! It's like not getting to see your beloved family members, but because we leave the house shortly after 6am, we had to say good-bye:-(  Others have given great reviews describing how well run the place is and the wonderful friendly staff, so I thought I'd tell about getting your dog started at Country Canine. After a trial where they see what kind of dogs your dog would do best with, you start out on a waitlist, and they'll call or email you a day or two ahead of time to let you know they have availability. When you bring your dog, they take the time to greet you (always very personable) and ask if there are special concerns or directions. Then at the end of the day they let you know how your dog's day was without you having to ask. For example, "She played ball a lot, chasing it for the longest time."  Or, "She seemed cold, so we put one on our coats on her, and then she was fine and played."  They always made us feel like they loved our dog as much as we did. After a few weeks of getting on the waitlist 1-2 times a week, they called and offered a full time spot one day a week. Then we continued on the waitlist until another permanent day of the week opened up. Once we had our 2 permanent days, if we couldn't bring Moxie, we gave them at least 24 hours notice  (to avoid being charged)  and they'd fill the spot by contacting another waitlisted dog. (We knew what being waitlisted felt like so we usually gave them almost a week's notice.) If you can't give them 24 hr notice, there's only a small charge and not a whole day charge. They're very fair. Speaking of fair, they're laid back about collecting payment. There's a box to leave a check and you can pay cash if you prefer, so I just left a check at the end of the week. Nobody ever tracked me down for payment if I forgot for a week. The only time I heard from them about payment was an email from Brian because I'd lost track and overpaid. Moxie now goes to a new dog day care closer to our jobs, and they get the job done, but we miss the personal touch our friends provided at Country Canine!!! More...

Our dog has been going to Country Canine since we've had her (over five years). It's an extremely well-run, caring place, as the other reviews note. Alison and Brian are very involved, knowledgeable owners and the staff is well-trained and loves dogs. Everyone is very tuned into the individual animals and were the first to report when our dog was not completely herself or was getting too fat. :)  I would highly recommend this business. More...

My Shepard has been going to Country Canine for 6 months now. The staff are so good with dogs, you can tell they enjoy it. Even after a long rainy or snowy day they manage to stay cheerful working with the pups. They are attentive to my dogs needs and they are firm but kind when my dog needs to hear "No". My dog enjoys going there and it's been good socialization for him as an old puppy. More...

These folks are wonderful. They're devoted to the dogs and keep them active even in crumby weather. Benny always comes home a happier dog, sometimes crashing on the seat into sleep within a couple of minutes of picking him up. A mellow Benny is a good Benny. Highly recommended. More...

Our dog has been going to Country Canine for several months now. Sending our dog to daycare was more for socialization purposes. We have had only one prior daycare experience to compare w/ CC. For us, it was a day and night comparison. The CC staff truly cares for our dog's physical and emotional well being. Their daily fees are competitive and well worth every penny. From day one the CC staff welcomed us with opened arms. We feel like we are part of an extended family. A typical CC day: at drop off you walk through the front door into an office area. You are welcomed by a staff person each morning. If there are special instructions (special food, meds, etc.) or concerns they are more than willing to help out/ listen. You will find the office walls covered w/ pictures of all the dogs. For us this was a sign we were in a caring safe place. Your dog will be brought to the play areas. There are several play areas inside and out. The first couple of days CC evaluates who can be integrated w/ who. Staff actively plays with and engages all of the dogs. This was HUGE positive for us. At noon (or so) all of the dogs will be crated to have a well needed nap/ rest. We were very concerned at first because our dog had been neglected in a crate before we got him. Staff reassured us that he would be ok and they would make sure to watch him closely. After a couple of times in the crate they reported it was a non-issue. After nap active play time resumes with the staff. When it's time to pick up your dog someone will bring the dog to you and they will report how their day was. If our dog could open the car door as we arrive in the morning he would so he could be with his doggie and human friends. CC truly cares about each dog. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. More...

Q&As

Helping to strengthen the relationship between a dog and its people.

I have been an animal care professional for over 25 years with many businesses under my belt. Through my line of work, I am frequently giving advice to my clients on how to problem solve behaviors with their dogs. It was difficult though because it was just myself and the owners talking, we weren't involving the dog in the conversation. I found it much more successful to be in the home and with the dog so that I could see the behaviors and demonstrate the problem solving skills directly to the owners,

I am passionate about helping dogs and their people. I also do not work from a template. All behavior modification training programs designed by me are tailored specifically to you, your dog, your family and your individual lifestyle.
