I have been training with Ray for a month now and I have already seen great results. He is tough but fair. He doesn't accept excuses and whines; and he will push you just enough past your limit. Working with him makes my muscle hurt but after a while they feel great. I feel stronger and I have seen my baby muscles come through. More...

I use Yelp frequently, but only recently created an account so I could write a review for The Art of Fitness because of the great experience. Was looking into a personal trainer to keep me accountable and push me out of my comfort zone in working out. Found Ray and The AOF through a LivingSocial deal of three personal training sessions. Ray is a true professional in giving tips on proper technique, and pushed me hard enough to where I would be sore for a few days, but not too hard where I'm sidelined for a week. Highly recommend Ray and The AOF as the facility is clean and Ray is an awesome trainer! Super stoked I got connected with them.Looking forward to continued progress as a new member and for once, actually looking forward to working out! More...

My experience with Ray has been life changing to say the least. After perusing around commercial gyms, cross fit programs, and gym memberships, I finally found the AOF and it was perfect match for me.  I chose to take up personal training with Ray and I also attend the group glasses whenever my schedule permits.  Objectively speaking, the gym is very clean, intimate, and has all the equipment you could need.  There is a restroom with showers which has toiletries for the members. There is also covered parking and an extra parking lot if needed.  The price is more than fair for what you get.  When you train with Ray, he doesn't waste time making conversation or letting you rest until the hour is over.  You know those gyms that claim to have workout sessions for an hour and it's really only 30 minutes? Yeah, this is not one of those. The best thing about the gym are the people in it.  Ray knows everyone that walks in the gym and the community itself is so warm and welcoming towards new members.  That is truly something that you can't find everywhere.  I joined with the intent of losing a ton of weight but I got much more-- an attitude that makes me embrace a healthy, balanced lifestyle. All of the work that Ray puts into helping me reach my goals inspires me to stay consistent with all the progress.  I used to put off going to the gym. Now, it's one of the things I look forward to most-- seeing myself get better.  If you are ready to begin your journey to getting back to the best you, the AOF will help you get there.  All you need for this gym is a good attitude and the willingness to learn... leave the attitude, nonsense, and ego at home :-) More...

I don't normally write reviews on here, but I wanted to give a special shoutout to Ray who has been my personal trainer for the past couple of months. I heard about this place through a LivingSocial deal, which included 3 personal training sessions for a great price. After the trial, I decided to become a member because for the first time in a LONG time I feel like I'm making the most out of my workouts and getting my body closer to where I want it to be. I also really enjoy his Power Circuit class! Ray is great at pushing you and teaching proper technique which is really important to me. The facility is clean, the equipment is in great shape, and the gym never feels too crowded. It's also nice that the other members have been so welcoming and encouraging! I just love this gym. I joined the gym in January and I'm glad I did it. Ray is my personal trainer and he is absolutely the BEST. I got personal training before but Ray stands out 100%. He understood my goals and my pace and tailored the workout sessions based on my abilities and brings out best in every class. I recommend this gym and training with Ray to all my contacts and do yourself a favor and join if you are looking for a very personalized training in Honolulu. There are many other classes happening in the gym like yoga boxing and martial arts. Everyone at the gym are very friendly and I felt like I've been to this gym for years now. The gym was never a place people would expect to find me. Growing up as a chubby kid, I loved playing sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and paddling, but I never understood the love of working out, just for the sake of it. That all changed when I joined the Art of Fitness. My whole perspective of working out changed when I met Ray. Ray takes the time to understand your fitness goals and helps you to actually achieve them. He is just as dedicated to you meeting your fitness goals as you are (or as dedicated as you should be!). Without Ray, my view on working out would never be what it is today. I stopped working out for almost 2 years and gained all my weight back, but Ray still believed in me and worked to train me. He has so much knowledge about working out and is willing to help you learn proper form to perform the exercises effectively and efficiently. For the last 2 months, I have been doing one-on-one training sessions with Ray once a week and attending his circuit classes twice a week. The classes are particularly helpful for me because I have a busy work schedule. There are many different classes available at different time of the day. HIIT training combined with proper weightlifting training from Ray helped me knock off 20lbs in 2 months. Such unbelievable results. The Art of Fitness has the latest workout machines (with no wait time!), ample parking, clean showers, fresh towels, great trainers, and is a place to always make new friends. King Street at a pau hana get together recently. Ray struck me as someone with a lot of training wisdom. More importantly, he sincerely wants to better peoples lives by sharing his knowledge and encouraging them to better themselves. The only thing he asks is that the client has their heart in seriously going on this journey with him. That way both parties can feel that all the time and effort is well spent. And I have to say, this newly remodeled gym is well equipped and clean. I've never had a personal trainer, and with the push of my wife, I've finally decided to get one. Main reasons to get a personal trainer were to get more energy for family and work, get in overall solid shape and get ready for basketball league.  I did some research and decided to try the Art of Fitness. I wanted someone to push me and hold me accountable - I have gym memberships elsewhere, but I'm very inconsistent in going, and when I do go, I never maximize my workout.  After several weeks of personal training with Ray Sagum, the owner, I have never felt this good in a long time - probably in over 20 years back in college days.  This guy is the real deal.  Ray focuses on proper techniques (if I don't do it right, he won't count as a rep), proper breathing (which I didn't realize how important breathing techniques were) and pushing to beyond what I believe I can do.  If I tried to cheat or be half-assed on an exercise, then he'll call me out on it.  Since I've never had a personal trainer, I don't have anyone to compare it to.  But I have tried crossfit and other circuit training classes, and they've never taught me the proper techniques and breathing - when you don't breathe properly, then you get light headed easily, which happened occasionally for me at other places.  I even learned how to do dumbbell curls correctly from Ray - I've been doing it incorrectly for all these years. I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review - I cannot be more excited to finally give Ray his due.  Good natured, great heart - and at the same time, he will push you and won't mess around.  Ray is professional, his communication is clear and really tailors the workout just for me.  The gym is clean, two bathrooms and showers, provides towels, shampoo, soap, mouthwash, q-tip, shaving, etc.  Atmosphere:  Members are treated like family.  Parking:  parking lot or street parking.  I've never had problem with finding a space in the lot. It's free in the lot. I've taken the Kajukenbo class, and if I can fit it in my schedule, looking forward to trying Jiujitsu down the line. Can't wait to recommend Ray to friends who are looking to better their lives. Art of Fitness has had a significant impact on my life so far.  Thank you Ray! More...

Been a member of the Art of Fitness for about a year and am continually pleased by the facility, owners, staff, and clients. I was referred to the Art of Fitness by some co-workers. My company used to be located across the street; however, we have since moved to Iwilei.  The Art of Fitness is located mauka of Motor Imports on South Street (directly behind the former Good Eats Deli) and across from the Kaka'ako Fire Station headquarters in a small two-store strip-mallish building.  Lots of free parking (take that UFC and 24-Hour Kapiolani).  It is a clean and well-maintained gym with lots of equipment.  Not really a corporate chain gym, but more reminiscent of a private gym that would be located in a luxury condo or corporate headquarters.  What drew me to this gym was how it is clean, not crowded, and not intimidating.  I am not in great physical shape but have goals and Ray, Lee-Ann, Tawnee and the rest of the staff want to help you achieve that.  I don't like going to gyms with huge guys grunting and screaming or flexing their muscles in the mirrors.  Also, do not like seeing women showing off their bodies.  The Art of Fitness is a no-frills, average Joe gym.  However, this does not stop their clientele from being mundane.  I am a huge fan of the Circuit classes.  Kinda of mix of high-intensity/weighttraining/crossfit all rolled into one 50-minute kick-a$$ course that will have you sweating in the first ten minutes.  I love that it is a great aerobic and anaerobic workout and I don't have to spend 2 hours in the gym everyday to see results.  I have gotten strong in my back, core, and arms since coming and my surfing has benefitted.  They have many other classes which are all inclusive.  I have heard great things about the Kajukenbo which is an american hybrid martial arts combining the best of karate, judo, kepo, and boxing, as well as the yoga classes.Ray and Lee-Ann Sagum are the owners.  Both are former champion body-builders, who have dedicated their careers to helping others achieve their health and fitness goals.  Very nice couple who are straightforward, nice, and treat their customers like they would treat their family.  If you want muscle head, UFC fighting or grunting gym, this is NOT the place.  If you want a good clean gym with staff that will help you get stronger, leaner, and healthier, the Art of Fitness is the place. I have been training with Ray now for several months and I am ecstatic with my results. I have lost 20 lbs. and my body looks amazing. I have received many compliments on how quickly I have transformed my body and it is all because of Ray! As a female, I was intimidated by weight lifting because I was unaware of which exercises to perform and because I knew I lacked proper form. Ray is such a wonderful personal trainer because he emphasizes proper form to ensure you do not injure yourself. Moreover, he teaches you proper breathing techniques when lifting to ensure you are getting the most from your workout. To be clear, he is a tough trainer and is not going to "baby" you which is why you will get results. For me personally, I appreciate a tough trainer because left to my owns devices, I had gained weight and had "let myself go." Ray provides constructive criticism because he wants to ensure you are lifting properly and that you do not injure yourself. Isn't that the most important thing in weight training... to ensure that you do not injure yourself? It is suspect that a certain reviewer is criticizing Ray's training style. I have been a member for about 3 years at the Art of Fitness. At any gym you can lose weight. The Art of Fitness has taught me more than that. The lesson was to grow. Doing workouts to lose weight is great but learning about yourself only comes from people who truly cared about you and wants you to succeed. Ray has help me realize the potential that I have. I was quite timid coming into this gym but Ray worked with me to overcome my own fears. Ray helps me get healthy for long term. The exercises he uses help me to have more range of motion and has praticality in my daily life. Ray pushes hard. He is the trainer who pushes you hard because he knows you can do it. Previous gyms that I had memberships in had people who were quite intimidating. The Art of Fitness has nothing but awesome people who don't intimidate others. The friendliness of the members are one of the reasons why I love coming here. People smile and are welcoming. Amenities are growing. Ray has made so much improvements to the facilities to give the members a wonderful gym. Not only is the gym open 24 hours, but their are different machines for cardio, free weights, weighted machines,  and TRX bands. These all provide a diverse approach to help with your fitness needs. Towel service, full stocked showers are just some things that are also provided. The club is always clean and secure. You truely feel safe and dont worry about anything. Lastly, their is so many stalls that you can use and parking is free.  Bottom line is Ray takes cares of his members. Kajukenbo classes are awesome. Not only can you get a workout at the gym but learn martial arts. Taking the classes has also given me many lessons. It is more than just an art but a way of life. Kajukenbo provides me with a way of learning discipline and respect. The classes are run by Ray's wife Lee Ann. She is an awesome teacher. She strives for everyone who comes in to give their best. Through the classes we learn kata, self defense and many more to allow one to develop skills to protect themselves and others. Through kajukenbo I have made a 2nd family who truly care about one another and help each other become better. The Art of Fitness also provides massage services, boxing and jiu jitsu. These services are top notch. I have not heard anyone go into the massage and say they did not like it but I can't wait to do it again. The boxing class is great not only for cardio but also provides technique and footwork development. Working on striking and after working on cardio through different workouts makes you feel tired but also a sense of completion. The jiu jitsu classes are run by Sheldon. He is quite passionate about teaching. He pushes his students hard. He doesn't make people just learn moves but he always ask if they understand. To him it is more than just doing moves but gaining a sense of knowledge. This club is the best. I am happy to say that I recommend this gym. It is definitely a place that I enjoy coming to. Ray is a great person. He has dedicated his heart and his life to ensuring people are healthy. He is highly knowledgeable of different perspectives of healthy lifestyles, diet, and exercise. I have learned so much than what is written. Being a part of this was the best decision that I made. Without the gym, Ray, Lee ann and others my life and health would be different. I owe it all to the Art of Fitness and their dedication to improving people's lives. More...

I've been a member of the Art of Fitness for a little over 2.5 years and it has grown to become my home away from home.  This private facility is secured and all members are vetted by Ray and Lee-Ann Sagum--I have peace of mind knowing that I am in the company of mature and courteous folks who treat the equipment and others with utmost respect and care.  They offer free towel service and a water machine that provides filtered/alkaline water that tastes so delicious that can be described as better than bottled.  Some may disagree with me but having A/C is a great benefit especially with the current weather conditions. There are separate bathrooms for men and women that are stocked with complimentary items if you need to get ready in the morning before work or for a pau hana date.  In terms of weight equipment, you can go with free weights or the assortment of fixed weight machines which Ray and LeeAnn will go over with you if you have any questions in their usage. For running equipment you have the choice of treadmills, elliptical, or cycle and they have recently acquired a Jacob's Ladder which provides endless joy for the hamster in you.  Did I mention that all of the running equipment is paired with a flatscreen and DirectTV (read: NFL Pass). If you do not opt for the personal training, Art of Fitness provides a variety of classes nearly everyday (except for Sundays, you should be at church/football/recovering from Saturday night) whether it's in the morning (AM workouts led by Tahnee) or after work:Power circuit workouts led by LeeAnn or Ray:  Both have different approaches--LeeAnn will lead you through a variety of movements/courses as a group or individually; it's always a surprise and always fun. Ray... will kick your ass.  It never does get easy--he simply adds on a plate and you still have to keep your form, there is no half ass of throwing weights or improper form that could cause injury and keep you away from the gym.  If you do it wrong, the count resets to zero.  If you complain, Ray chews you out and everyone starts over (please don't complain).  It's equally challenging even without weights or bars involved, you are in plank holding your core with one less arm/leg each round.  If you managed to survive a Ray workout, congrats and try again tomorrow--if you failed, try again tomorrow.Kajukenbo: led by LeeAnn.  I was fortunate enough to be under LeeAnn long enough to see her progress from brown belt to second degree black belt under Professor Matt Levi.  I noticed the change in awareness of my surroundings and focus in my journey from white to orange to blue--I was never one of those belligerent folks but with training you pick up on those situations and can act accordingly (the best situation for a fight is to end it before it even starts).  In class you learn self-defense as well conditioning by sparring drills and friendly contact sparring.  The other aspect is Kata (forms) which is something I grew to appreciate in terms of practice (thousands of repetitions is the minimum to mastery) and beauty (the result of those endless repetitions)--to see it performed by LeeAnn and Professor Matt is a sight to behold.Brazilian jiu-jitsu: led by Sheldon Young.  Shel's attention to detail and no nonsense approach helped me understand the complexity of jiu-jitsu and why there are so many white belts and blue belts.  As explained by Shel, if you can be like a ball, jiu-jitsu will come easy to you and there's infinitely as many ways to escape or submit your opponent. Like kajukenbo, there is technique and conditioning aspects and Shel is as unforgiving as Ray, so be prepared get burned out in the drills all the while ensuring you're doing the technique properly even in your worse physical state.Boxing: led by Bubba and Shel.  This program can be physically intensive where you learn the basics of boxing--most beginners like me come to grips with staying toe to toe, blocking and trading punches.  If you think moving and punching at the same time is easy, you'll find out in class how complex that coordination of moves really is.  Bubba is less grumpy than Shel, however, he will still send you to the floor by the end of training whether it's through the weights rep conditioning or going through the drills in ever increasing intervals as one progress in skill.  Like jiu-jitsu, I'm still in the beginner's stage and I feel so fortunate to be taught by these two who expect you to train with the mindset of going professional.Yoga: this has been ever evolving in finding the right yoga instructor (Hi Guy! Hi Sadia!) and should you love yoga after an intense workout you can be like me and enjoy the corpse pose!In under three years' time, the amount of class offerings has grown beyond my expectations and I can't wait to see what will be offered in the years to come. This has become more than just a gym, it has become home--I hope you find the same here and become part of the family More...

When I showed up on time for my appointment I was confused to the front door being locked, but I have since learned the the facility has 24hr access and each member holds their own key.Ray shared with me a bit of background to his business and philosophies before putting me through a standard burpee/pushup/squat/crunches test to see where I stood physically.  First thing he noticed - my breathing!  In all the training I've had over the years, I was never taught proper timing on inhales and exhales during exercises.  He corrected that immediately and then proceeded with my one on one training.  And what a difference it made for me to get through his session.I LOVED it.  I was riding high!  Exactly how I like to work and be worked!  Some high intensity, some heavy weights, lots of reps.  I especially liked how if my form wasn't correct, it didn't count as a rep and/or he'd make me start the reps all over.  That's what I need!  To learn, to be critiqued, and to do it right.Ray is knowledgeable and wants you to do your best and be your best.  You can tell this is a guy who wants you to see results from your workout.  And an extra perk, the alkaline water they provide for you to fill up your bottle and recover those muscles the best way possible. My schedule is currently in transition so I can't commit to a membership yet, but this is a facility and a trainer that will be on the front of my radar when I'm able to commit! More...

I am a Personal Trainer who was in need of a private personal training studio space for my clients. I came across this facility through a friend's referral. I am happy to say that the facility is first-class; offers all the equipment and space any Personal Trainer could ever need and provides the security, safety and cleanliness any gym member / client would be impressed with. The owners are experienced long term fitness professionals who welcomed myself and my clients with open arms. There is ample parking with 24-7 facility access which includes strength training machines and equipment, a cardio room as well as several classes throughout the week. I've been fortunate to have personal use of the space including taking classes with the owners, which I highly recommend. I've bounced around gyms for the last year or so trying boot camps, regular gyms, yoga etc. I stumbled across Art of Fitness through groupon and have been officially signed up for a month and I love it! Ray is very passionate and professional about his work.  This is the first time in the last year that I can say I've stuck to my exercise routine.  Ray focuses a lot on breathing and proper technique which I have not experienced with other trainers. I'm very happy with my decision to have joined. As a trainer Ray really pushes you while still being very encouraging and patient.  The facility is very clean and homey!! I have been training with Ray for the past month through his personal training services and I've had nothing short of an awesome experience! From the first moment I walked in to the gym, I was immediately impressed. I honestly felt like I was being welcomed into someone's home. Before I officially joined, I tried to find the gym on my own. I drove down to the address and tried to open the door. The yelp information said that the gym was open 24/7 but when I get there the door was locked, even though all the lights and TVs were on so I was a little confused. I called Ray up right after that and left a message letting him know I was interested in joining  and that I'd stopped by. He called me back a few minutes later and told me that the gym is in fact open 24/7 but each of his members have a key to personally access the gym whenever they want. Wow talk about exclusive! Now I was really excited to see what this place looked like. He told me to come back the next day and that he would train me himself. I came straight from work so I brought my workout clothes with me and changed in the bathroom. And seriously it was cleanest and best stocked gym bathroom I have ever seen! There is everything you need in there (yes, even an iron and disposable razors) to clean up after a workout. They provide everything, even clean towels, so you don't have to bring anything with you but workout gear. Just the shower alone made me want to join the gym so I could shower after a workout and go right back to my office. If you are in the personal trainer program, Ray also keeps a well stocked fridge of water and powerade for you to drink whenever you come in. Before my session, Ray gathered information from me like my weight and body fat percentage so we would be able to track my progress. I've never actually had a proper body fat measurement done so that was really great for me to learn too. He asked me what I wanted to get out of training and what specific areas I wanted to improve. Ray basically kicked my butt during that first session. Which I loved! A trainer who goes easy on me honestly isn't doing me any favors. And he has an encouraging attitude and great sense of humor! I couldn't wait to sign up! Now I attend private sessions with him three times a week and am hoping to be able to try some of the other classes soon! I can honestly already feel myself getting stronger and more confident with the exercises he's taught me. The best part about his training style is that he wants to teach you proper form that way you can eventually be able to train properly on your own. After the first day of training, he called me up the next day just to make sure I was feeling okay. I felt great! My body on the other hand was super sore haha but it was good pain! There's nothing better than feeling sore after an intense workout! Before coming the Art of Fitness I pretty much spent on my time on cadio machines and lifting tiny little weights. He's now got me learning how to do dead lifts, power cleans, and proper squats. I honestly never thought I'd learn to do any of that! Thanks Ray :) More...

I have been attending the power circuit classes at the Art of Fitness for the last 6 weeks and I love it!  The classes are fun, challenging, and provide such a great workout.  I always look forward to attending class and never know what to expect because its different each time. Both morning and afternoon classes have terrific instructors who pay close attention to form and modify workouts as needed.  After only 5 weeks of attending classes and watching my diet, I dropped 4 lbs and 9% of body fat.  Although the scale hasn't changed much, I definitely feel more toned and my clothes fit so much better.  Everyone at the gym is friendly, easy to get along with, and non-competitive when it comes to working out (unlike some intimidating gyms out there).  Also, the bathrooms are clean and very private.  If you're looking for a smaller gym with a family-like atmosphere and great staff, I strongly suggest joining this gym. There's a quaint allure about this place when you first see it from the outside, but as you enter, you realize this place is for people who are truly ready to just have a good workout and who are serious about it. One of the first things I realized about this place when I came in was just how clean it was. Now, there may not be 20 benches and multiples of the same equipment, but it's not needed because this place has everything you need to get a really good workout in, and one of the best "equipment" available is Ray Sagum. An intense trainer and a good guy at heart, Ray pushes your workout to places that you didn't think it could go. I came in as a young 20-year old guy who frequently went to the gym just to try to stay in shape. I've been going to 24's for the past 6 months, but in the last couple of weeks of training with Ray, I've noticed a huge difference, and not only in how much my body has grown, but in the way I have changed my mode of thinking. When he told me I could bench my body weight, I looked at him puzzled because I've never benched that much, and there's nowhere in my mind that even contemplated the thought that I could. But he knows what he's doing and he has a way of pushing you to break those mental blocks so that your body can really get the best workout it possibly can. If you're really looking for a quiet, spacious, and solitary place to workout, this is the place. If you're looking to learn proper form, to increase your strength and health, and to shape and form your body into what you want it to be, Ray is your guy to do just that. More...

If you really are serious about getting into top shape, this is the place.  They push you to where no one has ever gone and boy do I mean that.  The trainers are awesome and encourage to push forward each time and after you are done they give you a "high five" and "good job".  Love the encouragement.  Very clean facility, they supply everything you could think of: shower, drinks, locker, snack (for the women: blow dryer, iron board...how cool is that women).I have never done or heard of circuit training till I got there and just like a fitness bootcamp, never sweated this much in one hour.  I recommend to anyone who is looking for a secured, clean, awesome trainers, 24/7 place to go, this is it!!!! My review is based on my experience with the art of fitness.1) Personal Training-I haven't had a good work out since high school (5 years ago! ) I absolutely dread being on a cardio machine for long, gruesome, torturous minutes/hours. So instead I wanted to learn to strength train. Ray my personal trainer here is really good at what he does. He knows his stuff and he is very motivating. When I'm off track or not listening or just not doing things correctly he puts me back in line right away. There have been lots of times where I questioned my sanity because I had no idea my body could handle the workouts Ray prepared for me every morning. But I survived every session, and I've always felt like a champ afterwards. It's been said that your body is capable of doing anything, it's your mind that needs convincing, and Ray can really convince you that you have the potential to be unstoppable on your health/strengthening journey. $300/month unlimited personal training is a really good deal. Ladies, instead of investing in fancy bags and makeup, invest in yourself. You will thank yourself later.2) Power circuit classes-Let me just start by saying this class will kick your @$$$$! Experiencing shortness of breathe during your first few classes are normal. Push yourself pass that, and you will feel like a million bucks after every class! If there is any better way to jump start your day, it's with Tani (the trainer) and the rest of the morning crew. Everyone is super humble and encouraging. The circuit classes are always different, and you never really know what part of your body will be worked on. Like I mentioned above, I hate cardio machines, so this class is my replacement. Morning classes start Mon & Wed 6:30am and Tues & Thurs 6:00am. The class is usually about 45 mins. If you aren't interested in personal training you can still get a membership for the classes which is $75/month for unlimited classes.Overall, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to work out, taof is the place to go! The bathrooms are always cleaner than mine, and they provide free snacks, coffee, towels, drinks, and protein bars. More...

My friend introduced me to this gym after I saw how her body was transforming.  Especially so since she was never a gym rat and I was surprised by her progress and enthusiasm.  Prior to this, I was working out on my own, but had stopped for about five months.  I stopped working out, because I wasn't achieving the results, regardless of how hard I worked out.  Granted, my idea of "hard" was how I felt that day and how much I personally wanted to push myself.  I also realized that with age, it was getting harder to attain the physical goals I set for myself.  With that in mind, I decided it was time to get some professional help...little did I know what I was getting myself into!  My workouts with Ray have been the TOUGHEST I've ever experienced.  Even prior to starting the session, I'm dreading of what lies ahead and during the workout, it's so intense I feel as if my body will give up.  However,  Ray pushes and PUSHES you to surpass what you think is not physically achievable.  The feeling I get after the workout is of immense satisfaction and accomplishment. The gym itself is clean and quiet- very happy with the fact it's not a meat market and people aren't posing in front of the mirrors flexing their muscles.  Everyone is friendly, positive, and encouraging of one another.   It's also great there is free towel service and an arrangement of free beverages (bottled water, gatorade, and juice.)  The bathrooms are clean and "homey"; equipped for people who have to head out straight to work after the gym.  All the conveniences are provided- hair dryers, razors, toiletries, etc.Power Circuit and Kajukenbo classes are offered free to all members, besides the one-on-one personal training.  I've taken both classes and it was a rewarding experience.  The Power Circuit class is a nice change from the usual routine and the Kajukenbo class is a great way to practice self-defense (especially for females!)  Yoga classes are also offered, which I haven't had time to try out yet, but it's great that there is this option.  With my personal training with Ray and the classes, the workouts are never repetitive and there is always a variety so that it keeps me interested and motivated. This is a gym for all types of people- those who like to workout in their own pace and those who need a personal trainer to guide and push you.  I personally need a routine and direction, so my sessions with Ray and the classes have helped me to stay focused and on track.  I also appreciate Ray's sense of humor, especially after the first day when I told him I was in pain and he offered me $0.35 to call someone who cares.  LOL More...
