I just finished a 2 month campaign with Bill Benson and company and had an excellent experience. This was my first time hiring PR and after a pretty extensive search I settled on Team Clermont. Bill was patient as I went about my process, and very upfront and clear about timelines and what he needed from me. We released 3 singles and a 6-song EP over the course of 2 months and we were able to garner a pile of great press. Each single had a premiere and some reviews and we got 7 reviews for the whole EP with lots of fantastic pull quotes. Working w Bill was seamless and drama-free. This is the first time I've hired publicity and radio support for a release and it was well worth the investment to not have to endure the emotional ups and downs of sending out pitches, following up, etc. I could just go about my day as normal and manage going to the post office. With their help, the album charted alongside some of my music idols and was covered by new media outlets, which brought in some new fans which is cool. My experience working with Team Clermont was first-rate. What struck me at the outset was the effort they made to listen to and get to know my music--and, by extension, me. When it came to the campaigns, they were organized, informative, strategic, dogged, and open to new ideas and suggestions. Team Clermont are as good as it gets. We are a UK-based label and we were warned off hiring a US publicist. I'm so glad that we ignored this advice and decided to go ahead with these guys. We did an EP last year, which got fantastic results at both press and radio and we are currently in the middle of a full album campaign. Bill and Nelson are some of the nicest people we've worked with and they are coordinating and integrating amazingly with our UK and European publicists. I've found that you really get what you pay for with this sort of thing, and Team Clermont is the real deal. They have always treated me with courtesy and had the perfect balance of professionalism and a warm, personal, supportive attitude. As far as practical results, the albums I've promoted with them have ranked pretty high in the college radio charts, and I've gotten nothing but wonderful press from great outlets like Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, The Needle Drop, and lots more. My band worked with Steve Hendricksen and Team Clermont for a college radio promo this fall. Not only was he extremely knowledgable but he made it his personal goal to get us as much National radio attention as possible. We got spins of our disk in NY, CA, TX, NJ and many other states. Additionally, we charted #149 on the CMJ top 200! Each week we were given updates of which radio stations were playing our disk, how many spins we got that week, and feedback from the DJs themselves. I found the whole experience to be worthwhile and informative.
