Really amazing. I'm from NYC and was in Seattle for a black tie wedding and needed to get my hair in an updo. From the beginning my stylist was sweet, kind, and listened to exactly what I wanted. I always have issues explaining myself and she GOT IT! She also has an amazing singing voice. I think her name was Molly? She was finished with my updo in 45 min and I have long thick hair. I made an appointment two hours in advance on a Thursday and got a fabulous blowout of super thick, voluminous, wavy, frizzy hair into a straight style with movement and a little curl at the end. Looks amazing! Thank you!

I have been a client for over a year. The customer service is excellent and I can always book a last minute appointment or they squeeze me in. I signed up for the membership because the blowouts last awhile. I like that I can request a stylist since it can sometimes take a few appointments to know my hair. I have also used their makeup services for events and the artists are talented and know how to apply makeup for photos. Highly recommend them! More...

My daughter booked an appointment for me with Molly to get hair and make-up for her Saturday night wedding at the Olympic Sculpture Garden.  Molly was wonderful!  When I looked in the mirror, I didn't recognize myself!  I had some ideas for my hair from Pinterest, which Molly executed so well.  She asked me questions to determine how I wanted my makeup done and truly took my preferences seriously: I looked like my best self. she asked me about eyebrow pencil, which I didn't think I needed, but she was so right. June is excellent! I have found no one in the Puget Sound area as skilled and consistent as she is when it comes to eyebrows. She's also a complete sweetheart, taking the time to really know and speak with her clients.The salon is always impeccably clean, the front desk team are beyond attentive as well as helpful.Sometimes there is a backlog of appointments running long, but everyone does their best to keep you comfortable while you wait. I was recommended to Swink by one of my bridesmaids and I am SO happy I chose to go with them. While I was hoping to have an on-site vendor, this turned out to be the perfect choice. We arranged for all our girls to be dropped off at their appointment time & had cars to shuttle them to the venue, which worked out to be a nice central place for everyone to meet. We had a total for 13 ladies, including a 4 year old flower girl & both our moms, and they got us in and out even quicker than our contracted time! Working with Amy was a dream, she managed to get us all put together in our allotted time, even when I added people, rearranged times, added/removed services, she was so responsive and kind in a stressful time! Tiara did both my hair and makeup at my trial and day-of and he was a gem. With very little guiding from me, she was able to take my natural self and make it even better. Nothing was over the top, and I still looked like myself while feeling like a celebrity. Everyone looked beautiful, felt even better, and every person we worked with there was polite, helpful, and really helped pump up our energy while keeping us calm in what could be a very stressful time! I would absolutely recommend using Swink for your wedding day hair style! I had visited them years ago (when they were in the University Village) and loved the experience then, so I thought about looking into their services for wedding day hair. The bridal coordinator was so helpful and flexible with the planning. The price was on the lower end of average of what I had found in the Seattle area. My hair trial was a few weeks before the wedding and I brought in some pictures off Pinterest for inspiration, but I trusted my lovely stylist Ashley and told her the only thing I really want is for my hair to not look as thin as it is and to be up and stay up for 12+ hours. I have fine hair, and not a whole lot of it, so I was very pleased with the way she was able to make my hair look full and intricate. She was absolutely fantastic. A few of my bridesmaids and my mom also got their hair done for the wedding (without a trial) and it turned out pretty good overall. If you do go with Swink, I highly recommend a trial run if you have difficult hair or hair that doesn't like to stay put even with hair spray. When my hair and makeup stylist had to cancel at the last minute Swink was able to accommodate my entire bridal party! They were easy to work with and all the stylists are talented professionals. I love the updo I got from the salon!! I flew in from SF to Seattle for a friend's wedding and make an appointment for a hair and make up. The updo in particular was outstanding. I've gotten a number of updos before but this one was particularly thoughtful, romantic and fits my head shape so well. The updos stayed on for more than 10 hour even with lots of dancing and jumping around! I LOVE the rose within the updo. I got many many compliments on my hair and I'd highly recommend the salon! I have never had my hair professionally blown out and was excited to get it done. Moira did a wonderful job and my hair looked natural and great. I also had my eyelashes done and would highly recommend getting them done here. I had mine done at another place and they  put too much glue on my eyelashes and they didnt look very good compared to what Moira did for me. I was in town from Florida and they were able to squeeze me in last minute for a blow dry. I went on a Tuesday and their usual $40 blowdrys were $36! They use brand name products on your hair (I.e. Living Proof, Moroccan Oil, etc.) which is great b/c if you end up loving them you can buy it there or any big retailer later. My stylist was very friendly. I’ve been going to Swink off and on since they opened and have always had a great experience! The stylists are super talented and fast (without seeming to rush). I have a thick head of hair with a mind of its own and they always do great blowouts, generally with time to spare. I’ve gotten some cute dry styles there too although, as with most things of this nature, it helps to have at least an idea of what you want done going into it. They also use great products and don’t charge extra for things like Moroccan Oil like some blowout bars do. More...

I am not familiar with Downtown Seattle and thanks to Road Construction I was late to my appointment. But Thank you to Aston for letting me still keep my appointment with Emilio. Emilio took my coat offered me coffee and it was off to start my blowout. I have thick hair and normally a challenge but for Emilio it was not even an issue. He worked very efficiently and professionally as he dried my hair and he also was giving pointers on how to speed up my hair drying at home. In the end I had a beautiful hair thanks to him and looked fantastic for my event that I was attending that day. I had to sneak into the very clean bathroom so I could touch up my makeup and the lighting was perfect. I can't recommend this place enough and look forward to my next visit. More...

I came to Swink to get my hair and makeup done on my wedding day. I didn't book their bridal package or anything, just their everyday drystyle and makeup service. I also didn't come in for any hair/makeup trials prior to my wedding day, so I am really grateful that the team did an amazing job on their first try!For my hair, my stylist made me feel confident that she could give me lasting curls and she was completely right. My curls lasted from 11am to the end of the night! For context, I've never had curls last more than an hour in my stubbornly straight hair.Emilio was my makeup artist and he was amazing. He worked quickly and efficiently, but definitely took the time to make sure everything was perfectly blended. He was also really hygienic - he didn't double dip in products and he always wiped off the top layers of eyeliners/lip products prior to applying them on my face. I was super happy with my makeup after he was done - I have seriously never felt more beautiful than that day. Another huge plus of this experience is that I didn't get any skin irritation from the products used on me, which I figured would be inevitable due to my sensitive skin. The products in general seemed pretty high quality - my lip stain lasted for hours that spanned lunch, ceremony, and reception dinner before fading into my natural lip color. The only negative part of my experience at Swink is that my bridesmaids had hit or miss experiences getting their hair done. Two of my bridesmaids were happy with their drystyles, but the other two had to re-do/curl their hair after the appointment, since their styles quickly fell out. I was so pleased with how my hair turned out! My mom and I wanted to have our hair done for a family wedding.  Because we were in town on homecoming weekend, the only time we could be fit in was at 9:30 AM and the wedding wouldn't start until 5 PM. ... and it was raining a ton! Our stylists were super helpful and did everything they could so that our styles would last as we spent the remainder of the day in and out of the rain, sightseeing & shopping used book stores (Magus in the U District was incredible!). My stylist and I had a great conversation, she was so funny, sweet, and kind. I don't usually treat myself to blowouts outside of events and special occasions, but I might start to now! I absolutely loved my curled and voluminous hair (my short-haired Mom loved hers too!) and our styles lasted through the dancing. I have LOTS of hair and my service was thorough (but didn't take forever). Great products, wonderful staff--what a fun place to visit.
