The omelette of the day was very good and the grits were absolutely phenomenal. Love the service, everyone greeted us with warm smiles.
Update 7/28/19-After having a bad experience the first time, the manager reached out to make things right. I really appreciated his apology and explanation that they've been having some growing pains. I decided to check it out again this past Wednesday and I'm honestly glad I did because my experience was better by the tenfold. I went with my mom and my boyfriend so we ordered three things to share. We got the bagel with thin sliced salmon, scrambled egg pressed panini, and curried chicken salad. Bagel with thin sliced house-smoke salmon: I REALLY appreciated that the salmon was not too salty. Often times smoked salmon can be way too salty for me and I end up killing the bagel and drinking tons of water to wash down the salt. The salmon was just salty enough and the everything bagel was really good. Curried chicken salad with brussels sprouts slaw: I've never tried curried chicken salad before but I love chicken salad and I love curry, so I thought why not? And I'm glad I tried it because it was really flavorful without the curry flavor being overpowering. I'd probably even buy containers of that chicken salad if they sold it. I didn't like the bread it was on because it was too dry and tough, but I'm sure you can ask to substitute for a different bread of your choice. The brussels sprouts slaw was a nice surprise too. I've never had raw brussels sprouts before but they seasoned it well and I liked the texture of it.Scrambled egg pressed panini with potatoes: Out of the three we ordered, while we had the least expectation for this, it was by far our favorite. That egg was cooked perfectly. It's such a simple sandwich but it was amazing. The potatoes are definitely different from most brunch places that have the more "roasted" texture. This was softer/mushier but it was really good. I actually liked that their potatoes were different from traditional side of potatoes people expect.Food was great. The only complaint I have is wait time. They are slow...like real slow. I think we waited 30-40 minutes for our food when there were only a handful of other tables. Tis why the 4 stars instead of 5. Overall- highly recommend! More...
Best brunch spot around! Their “Capri” sun in my belly drinks are not only delicious but are actually genius!
Great food. Great customer service
My young adult children thought that the options were limited and that the french toast was too bready...*i was watching what other people were ordering and kinda figured that*. I had the pig in my belly...it was really good... the coffee was amazing... the drinks were adequate.... but the service was excellent... great hosts and wait staff! I would recommend but kniw what you like to eat before ordering. More...

I had last minute planning for a brunch on a weekend and I came in around 10, where it's pretty steady. It was hard to find parking since it's in a neighborhood. My server was so friendly and had recommendations on what's popular! I didn't quite get her name, but she was so sweet and full of smiles!!! She checks up on us and refill our drinks every now and then. The interior was so adorable. I got The Belly Benedict and it was so, so good! It was good proportion that I finished my plate. My boyfriend got the Shrimp and Grits, he mentioned it's not the best, but it's good. They have great drinks and I got the adult Capri drink which is the Bourbon Peach Spiked with Sweet Tea, it was good! I totally recommend it if you are a peach lover! All in all, whenever I'm in town, I would definitely stop to this place for a brunch! (When we finished eating, there was a lot of people waiting outside around noon, so totally recommend to come in a little early like I did, around 10.) More...

Great food and great customer service
Excellent spicy bloody Mary and the food ain't bad either. I got the hash and a sandwich and was very happy with my decision. Chicken sausage as a side was great too More...
My favorite place to hang with dear friends and have a nice brunch, any day of the week. French toast and honey bacon are the best. Also the eggs Benedict on weekends. More...
Delicious breakfast - enjoyed the Lavender biscuit & tropical jam!
Nice environment, pretty close to stone mountain. Will be nice breakfast place for after sunrise hiking
I would say I'm a brunch connoisseur. So I have high expectation for brunch. With that said, this place was good but not the best I ever had. I loved the decor of the place and at the time we went there was no wait time. Which is low key impossible for brunch on a Saturday in Atlanta. The service was really fast and food was good. Prices were fair. The space was small. Since there were alot of bodies in small space it was hot. But overall a great place to go to catch up with a friend. More...
Here for brunch on a Saturday morning, around 10. Wasn't busy, we were sat immediately. There was 6 of us. They have these Capri Sun like spiked drinks. They were pretty good and strong. I had the strawberry lemonade. The food was good as well. I got the Kirkwood breakfast and added potatoes. The biscuit was good and the jelly too. Bacon was crisp and tasty. More...
Best brunch in Atlanta! I love going here with girlfriends or on weekdays for working lunches. The PBLT is craving-worthy.
Beautiful, bohemian atmosphere with great service and a delicious menu...I can't wait to go back!
One word. Yuuuuuummmm. Every dish is beyond the standard breakfast fare
This place 100% lives up to the hype! However a few words of caution before diving into the review. If you've never been here before, it's quite difficult to find. I was driving around the area for a few minutes before finally spotting the restaurant. It's not a very obvious looking building and it's in a residential area which feels confusing. In addition, parking was extremely limited. I only saw a few on street parking spots, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of them. I honestly have no idea where most people park. Anyways, when you walk into the restaurant you'll notice a very bright and open space. It makes you feel like you're in a Brooklyn coffee shop or something. Even though they are famous for their French toast, I just couldn't bring myself to eat that many carbs. As tasty as it looked, I had to go with the pimento cheese omelette instead. I just admit that I'd never had an omelette with pimento cheese before, but dang was it tasty. 10/10 would recommend! Overall it was a great experience. Unfortunately it's not a very convenient location for us so I'm not sure how often we'll come back. But if we lived closer, we would be eating here all the time! More...
I understand the hype about this place!! The interior is a super chill, airy and not in your face designed restaurant. Went for brunch for a friends birthday party and I knew I needed the try the belly Benedict since it's only available on weekends! The sweetness from the sweet potatoes went SO well with the eggs, bacon hash, and the chipotle sauce. Definitely want to come back to try other items off the menu! More...
Everything you've heard is probably right - I love Sun in My Belly! The Capri Suns are my favorite part and the food definitely doesn't disappoint. I've gone a few times now and the service is unmatched. It gets packed, especially on the weekend, so definitely suggest arriving early or making a reservation. Street parking is the best bet - there is usually space in the close by neighborhood. The lavender biscuits are EVERYTHING! More...
Went there on a Sunday morning when they opened. Love the interior design. Find service and fine eats. Did not disappoint.
Fun. Funky. Good menu. Large por.tions
Food was really good
My friends and I came here Sunday for brunch and loved it!! It's definitely a bit of a wait but there is a side bar by the door that we were able to get some drinks while waiting for a table. I recommend getting the Georgia peach mimosa and challah french toast! More...
Cute atmosphere, friendly service. Breakfast served later (yay!) and parking available. I had the French toast and quiche of the day (spinach, feta, mushroom, and sun dried tomatoes). The biscuit was pretty good and the French toast was good -- not the absolute best ever but still pretty good. The quiche was cooked perfectly and the crust was good. I generally don't love quiche either so that's saying something. Very reasonably priced. I didn't get a drink with my brunch but drinks were also reasonably priced! Would go back More...
Loved the vibe here. Great service. The lavender biscuit was yummy. (Bathroom needs more upkeep) Thanks !!!
A sweet brunch spot (actually they probably have more stuff than that but I only go on the way out of Atlanta on my way back to Nashville) that does an elevated take on classic southern breakfast items. Portions are large, the food has always been Instagram worthy and the taste matches the appearance. They also have a stellar coffee bar that I wish I could try more often. It’s like comfort food for a new generation and I’m totally on board. More...
I enjoyed this place ... i don't remember everything i had because it's been a month almost since I was there but the experience and food were good ... enjoyed the Sunday drinks soon as you walk in ... it didn't take long to get seated the staff obviously had been worked a lot that day so had to be patient with a couple forgotten orders and taken a little too much time to come back after we requested time but still i think it was a great experience very appropriate for people who would even use this app to make a decision. I love this little quaint spot on College Ave. My Mom and I stopped through for lunch because we were in the area. We both had the BLT with fried green tomatoes topped with pimiento cheese and potatoes hash. The food was delicious, this is my 2nd time stopping in to dine. A third time is manifesting, this place doesn't not disappoint. The waitress was great and the Georgia peach mimosa was on point More...
Fantastic food. Tried a bit of everything and the Napoleon sandwich was bomb af. Jonathan is the best server on the planet. 10 out of 9.
Waited a bit to sit down but breakfast was delicious.
Great breakfast place
Food and service were both good.
Delicious, from start to finish.
Quaint brunch location that had great food options
I honestly don't know why I haven't written this review sooner. I've been thinking about it every weekend since we went. The restaurant is on the corner and seems to be very small inside (but I'm not sure) but has ample outdoor seating and it's a great vibe. Lots of greenery. The food is great! This hit the spot for my fiancé and I. Get the lavender biscuit!!! The flavor and texture is everything you need in a quality biscuit. They have a great variety of drinks available. I was going to get a mimosa (bc brunch of course) but I couldn't pass on the Capri sun. I had the tequila one and it wasn't strong but it was cute lol I will be back! Repeatedly lol More...
Great food and service
Biscuits, homemade jams, food selection is on point
Nice hospitality, clean atmosphere, great food
Food was fantastic. Great atmosphere
Go to brunch spot. Well worth the wait on a Saturday morning.
I can't stop thinking about the breakfast I got from here the other day. The sandwich with pimento and fried green tomatoes was unique and delicious, especially with the fried egg I added. I also ordered a vanilla latte which wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. I'm honestly looking forward to coming back here when I'm in the mood for brunch because I'm sure there are other incredible items to order. To top it all off, the restaurant interior is very chic and the service was great. I'm so glad I found this place and I will be back very soon! More...
Really liked this place! I came with a decent sized group and they sat us immediately. Everyone got drinks and something different, but no food was left on anyone's plates! The food was very tasty and came out quickly. I had heard amazing things about the lavender biscuits, and they were good, but they didn't live up to the hype... maybe I went in with too high of expectations. I really enjoyed this brunch place and will definitely be back! More...
Love the food and atmosphere
Great place to nurse a hang over and get delicious / unique breakfast food. Recommend the panini.

The long line into SIMB speaks for itself. Expect incredible food. Best eggs I’ve ever had.
Great food, great vegetarian options, and adult capri sun cocktails are a must try! ❤
What a great place with a Bohemian flare I had the belly Benedict it was delicious with sweet potatoes

This place is fantastic! Definitely a wonderful spot to take visitors from out of town. The food is great, the service is always good (sometimes slow but it’s always busy for brunch), and parking can be tough depending on when you go. But I freaking love this spot
I've never had anything bad here. The atmosphere is fantastic.
Nice place to eat. Food is good.
Lovely atmosphere. The art is absolutely perfect for the space. We enjoyed our waitress. Chill vibe.
I never thought that simple scrambled eggs could taste so surprising... Beyond delicious!
The food was delicious!! The atmosphere was great.
Great Breakfast and coffee joint. Great atmosphere and quick service.
Great food and loved that star wars was on the tv

I love the vibe and atmosphere at Sun in My Belly. The fried green tomatoes are DELICIOUS but the french toast was not for me. Others may like it.
Tried the delicious PBLT (pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato) on gluten free bread, and it did not disappoint! Definitely not diet food, but it was well worth it. Note: fried green tomato in the sandwich is not GF. More...

Prices are a little higher.not sure if I will go back.
Pros: Great brunch options, friendly serviceCons: long wait times and super loud ambience
Cool intimate place
Always different, always great.
This is the best breakfast I have ever had in my entire life. No exaggeration. The challah French toast, the bacon, the peach mimosa, all of it was just absolutely to die for. The waitress was extremely nice and fast. My glass was never empty and she had a smile that could light up a dark room. I don’t think there is another breakfast place like this in America. I just wish I could give it more than 5 stars. More...

This place has good food. The service is Quick an a unique spot to hang out
Hello everyone. My first time trying this new restaurant. Nice inside seating space even better outside. Very good food & professional yet casual staff & service. A huge part of me giving this restaurant 5* is due to the service & warmth provided to us by our server; Alyson was super sweet, friendly, patient & accommodating. She even recommended what we should order. We requested sitting outside as the weather was really pleasant. There was the train passing through very close by every now & then. It swooshed the air to the point where our hair was waiving all in the air. It was a very refreshing & wonderful experience. Lol.Other than that the parking space is available right outside the restaurant on the side of the road although it's limited. It had a very casual crowd consisting of youngsters, old folks & families. One can bring their young kids to this place. It had 2 unisex bathrooms & a lot of inside seating space. The portion of the food was good & hence the price was justified. I would highly recommend everyone trying this restaurant. You'll enjoy it. Thanks for providing us with a good first time experience (Alyson). Will be returning again soon.. More...
This place is everything and more we hoped for. Loved the food, staff, physical space, and the fabulous jazz classics playlist.
Everything was great
The ambience is awesome. The service was friendly and the food was superb. The crowd was quite diverse which was refreshing. The food was great!. This is the "Savory French Toast". A interesting but delicious take on a normally overly sweet breakfast. The restaurant was kinda loud because the tables are packed kinda tight but still worth the money. More...

Love this place. When I'm in the ATL this is my favorite breakfast joint. The Kirkwood special is the bomb.... Great coffee too!
First time at this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised! Our server was Mia and she was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We had Shrimp &Grits, Kirkland breakfast with coffee, both were delicious. We will be back! More...
The atmosphere was very unique. Miya was our server today for brunch, and she was extremely professional. My wife had the French toast and I had the tuna sandwich with Brussel sprout slaw. Amazing service and even better food. The parking is limited so I recommend parking on a side street or in their back lot. Other than that, I can't recommend this place more! More...
So I just LOVE, LOVE, "Sun in my belly"!! I just took my (actress) sister, ;(lol), whose new too Atlanta, too this restaurant, that I haven't been too in ten years. Not too mention, how do I know If this place is as good as it was 10 years ago. Anyhoo, I'm big sis. so picking a great venue is crucial! But the staff here, including the chef backstage, was beyond amazing!!. By light years did they go beyond my expectations!! Basically because, you just don't "EXPECT", your service experience to be met with such, "LOVE"!! My sister and I just want to openly say thank you to Ally, (our server), whose beautiful energy was met upon arrival❤ Megan, (the catering manager)who had a genuine and delightful spirit❤ and Matt, (The Manager), who finessed us with intriguing ease.❤ Thank you, Thank you again, you will definitely be seeing us soon. For any of you that haven't tried "Sun in my belly", consider yourself enlightened and truly blessed to recieve such a gift. Namaste More...

My preferred place for delicious Cafe food. Came here on a Friday I think. The staff was helpful and kind. This place has an awesome atmosphere.
Cool atmosphere, clean, I ordered the Kirkwood breakfast, meat substitute, coffee, cheesy grits, scrambled eggs, and biscuit, very tastey. I will be coming back again.
This little eatery reminded us of some of our favorite spots in Amsterdam. The only difference is that the portion sizes here were a little bigger - a huge plus! I ordered the Croque Madame and the wife ordered the Napoleon Complex. Both were just... shockingly delicious. In the background, the staff put on an old VHS of Muppets in Space. Other selections were faded copies of Pokémon, Rocky VI, Stuart Little, and other, erm, "classics"?Over all, an incredibly charming, inexpensive, absolutely delicious spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch. We can't wait to visit again. More...
The food and service was amazing. The manager Nick came over and greeted and treated us as if we were family. Will definitely make this a regular stop in our travels. Amazing.

Unique menu selections, great service. Parking is limited
Great coffee and ambience. Definitely will satisfy all your brunch needs.
Always love this place. Great food in a great atmosphere with pleasant servers.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere.
The food was pretty good! Their omelets were tasty and the potatoes were good as well. We lucked out and came when it wasn’t busy. During peak times I could see this place having long wait times. Another possible issue is the limited parking. Overall I would definitely come back to try their other breakfast options. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Give this place a try if you’re around! More...
The food is great and so is the service! Highly recommend the PBLT (Pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato).
Always a great place to go catch a bite to eat. Took some friends from out of town here today, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Only complaint I have is that my order was a little messed up, and they forgot our apps.. but everyone there is very friendly, beautiful atmosphere and excellent place to eat on the healthier side. Great breakfast spot with good coffee.
It was a grand place, I will be return again.
Cool vibe. Great place for brunch. Go with the spicy Bloody Mary, but skip the challah French toast
My pblt was awesome
Great roast beef! Great Turkey sandwich!
Visited on a Monday for brunch around 2pm with a friend. We were seated right away inside. Very nice atmosphere and the waiter was very attentive. I ordered the grits and chicken sausage which I enjoyed much better than the stuffed French toast which I also ordered. First were tasty and chicken sausage had a nice flavor. The French toast is a loaf of bread stuffed with powdered sugar and fruit and ricotta...not as eggy and satisfying as your traditional French toast for my taste. The syrup was served nice and warm which was a nice touch. The coffee also tasted good and fresh. Good service overall and would visit again to try other items on the menu. More...
Great place for creative breakfast. The biscuits with peach jam were very nice.
Amazing Chala French toast! Bloody Mary's and coffee was amazing too!
I've visited Sun in My Belly twice and enjoyed ever bite of every meal I've had here.My first visit was during a chill weekday brunch. I had the (not savory) French toast. I was so impressed when it reached my table! Two huge pieces of challah bread, standing up on their side, with sweetened ricotta cheese spilling out between them. It was beautiful! My husband got the bagel meal with salmon and an added avocado. (I'm glad he shared some bites with me because it was delicious!) Cappuccinos and cocktails polished off our meal.We love the friendly staff and especially the beautiful atmosphere. The sun shining in softly during brunch time makes for a romantic ambiance, great for dates or for visits with friends. My second visit was with a girlfriend. We both got the Kirkwood breakfast (soft-scrambled eggs, bacon, lavender biscuit, killer jam). I didn't expect to eat all of that biscuit, but it was the perfect vehicle for the perfect jam they paired with it!The only downside to eating here is finding parking, which is usually on the street in the adjacent neighborhood. They do have a small parking lot behind the restaurant, though.Right up there with HomeGrown, Sun in My Belly is one of my all-time favorite brunch places in Atlanta. I highly recommend it! More...

I liked my meal. But I don't understand what the hype is about.
cafe food, yeah, quality stuff. Service is always super even when they have a full house. The staff was very kind and attentive.
Perfect all around!
This place is a bit of a hidden gem in Atlanta or used to be. The food here is absolutely amazing and well crafted from fresh and local ingredients. Key downside to this restaurant is if you come here for Sunday brunch you will have to wait around an hour to be seated. Worth the wait, but if you are really hungry this may not be the spot for you. One of the best brunches in Decatur: attentive service and amazing food with modern Southern flair.
One of my top spots for delicious Cafe food. I often meet people here to talk. It has a great feel to it.
They have espresso coffee!!! Good brunch choices and there is deceptively more seating which is great.

Wow! This is now my favorite Atlanta breakfast place, and I've tried most of the big names and highly rated spots. Delicious food, very attentive and courteous staff, and all at a very reasonable price. They have strong alcohol pours, fantastic shrimp and grits, and I could recommend everything I tried. About the only things I would change are acoustics (it can be hard to hear inside with all the echoing conversations because the place is often full) and that it wasn't clear that they weren't seating people outside only because "we don't seat people outside unless they specifically ask for it." If you're up for that, you might be able to avoid the waiting game for a table inside to be ready. And stop waiting: go try Sun in my Belly today. More...
awesome food and gteat decor
The food was fast, delicious and fresh. Great customer service. Not one complaint!
My mom, sister and I went here for a Sunday’s brunch and it was delicious. My mom and I both enjoyed all of it and because the servings were so large we could take home leftovers. My sister, however, loved her meal but didn’t touch her sausages. When we were asking for the check, the waiter noticed the uneaten sausages and offered to take it off the check. But a waitress had given us the check before the waiter could take it off. So, as we were walking out of the door, the waiter chased us down and offered us a cookie because everyone couldn’t get the sausages off the check. I absolutely love this place. The customer service is amazing! More...
Eclectic place. Quiche was good. French toast was pretty loaf of Challah bread, would have preferred French Toast made from the bread instead. Nice place for brunch.

Kirkland neighborhood:We parked in the back parking lot and came in the black door at the back. Overall the experience was nice. The atmosphere was serene and beautifully kept. There are three separate dinning areas each beautiful decorated. The staff was semi friendly. We were a party of five. 2 adults 3 children. Not sure if many children visit this establishment, but they were accommodating and found crayons for the children to color. We had the omelette of the day: Vegetarian and the kiddos had the chicken fingers with fresh fruit. The childrens plates were a great portion size. The omelettes were delicious and the potato hash was amazing as well. If we were local, I would return to try the lavender buscuit and order the fresh fruit. This place was fantastic! We wanted to try a new place for our 2 year anniversary, and we will definitely be coming back. It was a relaxed and modern cafe atmosphere with plenty of art and lighting. It looked like they had plenty or room for large parties, and a cute patio. We tried their Alison's Famous Mimosa, the Challan French Toast, and The Omelet of The Day. Everything was incredible. The french toast is a lot of food so be prepared! Additionally the grits we're delicious. Our server was Alison. She made us feel welcomed, and never let our coffee or water run low. I've been before for breakfast and dinner. I love the restaurant. The Allison's pimento cheese omelette is amazing. The deserts are also always fantastic. In general, be prepared to arrive very early or wait. I wish the seating had more space. They have crammed a lot of tables into a fairly small restaurant. The service is always fantastic. Also: the buttermilk biscuits are fantastic, but they aren't served with gravy which is a small disappointment. More...
Fantastic food, warm and friendly service. I had incredible French toast with ricotta cheese and a berry jam. Amazing! Large groups were seated all around our large group of 7, and everyone was happy. If you've never been, go today!
Top spot in Decatur
Really loved the atmosphere of this place and the food is really good. Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch place. This place gets pretty packed and parking can be hard to find, however, it is totally worth it.
Great place! Allison our waitress was excellent. I am vegetarian and they have the best veggie sausage. Even my carnivore fiance loved the taste. Mimosas are good.

Good service, good food.I do question their definition of french toast... It was tasty, but was more just a hunk of warm bread than french toast. Seriously, it was a thick as it was wide and tall. More...
Challah French Toast. Omg Tasty, thanks Tori!
I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Took me more than a year to have both the time and the money to go. Turns out, all I really needed was the time. Food is great and prices are greaterer.....yes I said it...greaterer. Can't wait to go back. More...
I had their Eggs Benedict and they might have been the best I've ever had. Bonus: their coffee was actually really good which I can't say for most popular brunch places in Atlanta. A must try!
A cute teashop in the heart of Atlanta. Many choices.Adorable and yet delicious cakes!
Very cute brunch place. Not much to do around the area and the lines are long but food is great and atmosphere is too.
I luv luv this sunshine of an place, the service and the food is always Amazing..FOOD choices TRY a little of everything. AND the wait time is worth it.have an drink ,great conversation...you belly will definitely have sun in it when you leave More...
It’s was is cute brunch spot. The food is ok. The staff is extremely friendly.
Great food and great service!
Food was good and it had a nice atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. As someone else wrote in the reviews I did question the French toast as well. It was more like fresh baked bread served to you than slices. Gotta look at the menu/photos to possibly understand. Other than that it was a nice place. More...
I cannot gush enough about this place! Very cozy, bright decor with a farm to table bohemian vibe. I was there for brunch in Feb and the wait staff was awesome and extremely friendly. The food and brunch cocktails were awesome. We were a party of 10 and they accommodated us in a rear room. The decor is farm chic but trendy with a bakery counter in the front and a sorta of bar in the back. They have comfy couches in the waiting/dining area and an outdoor patio perfect for spring. One of my new favorites! More...
Great atmosphere and not a bad wait time for how packed it was. Food was well worth it and there are so many tasty choices.
Great service and food
You've gotta try the shrimp and grits.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, vegetarian friendly! The service was a little slow but it was fine. Likely won't be back for brunch as the wait was about 50 minutes but I'm glad I went!
Long wait. Good food
The lavender biscuits are incredible.
One of my favorite places to be even if I'm not eating this beautiful they're very pleasant my A1 number one dish are the fried green tomatoes delish
I honestly do not know where to begin. I do have a question: WHO IS YOUR BACON SUPPLIER? The bacon is so thick, almost like ham, and so flavorful, that it should be a crime to have the best bacon in the world. Not to mention, the staff always wears a smile. More...
Great breakfast selection with good meat alternatives
This was my first time going to this restaurant. The quantity was quite plentiful for the price. The biscuits were excellent. And the crowd was young and beautiful. More...
Rustic cafe reminiscent of a place you might happen upon in New Orleans. Located in the historic “Kirkwood” district of Atlanta it’s the perfect place to hangout and enjoy a wonderful laid back dining experience or a great little snack. Chef Alison Lueker has put together a great team offering breakfast, lunch and catering.Complete with wonderful pastries and great coffee to go. They have a small quaint patio for al fresco dining when the weather permits or hangout on one of the three large sofas in the front of the dining area.Love the atmosphere. The service is spot on with a very friendly staff. The food is fantastic with all ingredients sourced locally. We have enjoyed both brunch and lunch here. One of my favorites is the “Belly Benedict”... poached eggs, Chipotle hollandaise, sweet potato honey glazed hash with garlic-spinach sauté and House-made buttermilk biscuit. Oh Yeah! For lunch I recommend trying the Croque Madame or Alison’s pressed meatloaf. You can’t go wrong with any of their choices on the menu. More...
Best fish tacos ever. The flavor is amazing.
Nice variety of food, though a bit expensive for the portion size. The service was very slow... waited more than 30 minutes to get a sandwich. Parking is limited at peak hours.
Quirky, vibrant and laid back brunch spot. The food was delicious, but coffee was surprisingly not great.

Fabulous breakfast! Kirkwood eggs, bacon, and biscuit were great!
Menu is well crafted and the food is awesome. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff.
Dreamy little breakfast spot. Don’t be discouraged if there’s a line, just order a mimosa and relax for a bit! It’s so worth it - the French toast is amazing.
The atmosphere is the type where you would go to have a craft freshly ground coffee with lavender biscuits, both of which are grown directly from their roof. And for lunch, a deconstructed salad that has cheese from goats that also live on the roof.Extremely hipster and trendy, so if that's what you like totally go. I'm more of a classic regular chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs kind of girl myself, so not my cup of tea at all. But they're rocking what they have, so more power to them. My only suggestion would be to add more vegetarian or vegan options. I looked for several and didn't find many on the menu I was offered. (Disclaimer: it was raining so I didn't actually get the chance to confirm whether or not there were actual goats on the roof) More...
Waitress was great
It was good, but they forgot my lavender biscuit. :(
Came highly recommended by a friend who lived in ATL for 15 years... did not disappoint!! Ambiance, service, food... they have it ALL!! Wow!
I ordered the omelette of the day: chicken sausage, onions, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms; and it came with hash browns and I don’t know what happened, but now this is my favorite brunch spot.
Love this place! Friendly staff and great food. The pimiento cheese omelette is excellent (maybe a bit salty for some) as are the labendar biscuits. I love the spinach salad and add honey bacon to it. Wish it was closer! More...
Great breakfast place. Great Service.
Very good. Had the Croque Madame and tried my bf’s quiche. Both were delicious. Wasn’t impressed with the grits. Mimosa was great and they don’t skimp on the sparkling. Cool atmosphere as well. Would likely return. Regretting not grabbing an oatmeal cream pie on my way out. It looked really tasty. Wait wasn’t long at all. We got there around 12:30 I believe on. Saturday. More...
Definitely not your typical breakfast spot. This place is a great example of the Atlanta food scene packed into breakfast. It provides some unique dishes on breakfast classics. However, they're not so far off the beaten path that you have the place wondering what in the heck just happened. More...
I had a really good time! The service GREAT! And the coffee was awsome
THEEEEEE VERY BEST BREAKFAST & SERVICE. YOU GET A FULL BAR SERVICE AS WELL. NOW YOU TELL ME WHAT BREAKFAST SPOT YOU KNOW THAT DOES THIS?..... I'LL WAIT.
We had a wonderful breakfast, but I would not reccomend the challah french toast. Our french toast was served with banana, and it was not exactly what we were expecting. The eggs benedict were divine. Highly reccomend. More...
Customer service here was excellent! They greeted us well, seated us promptly, and served our food fairly quickly. Their coffee is pretty good but strong, so make sure to ask for some cream with it. The only thing I was disappointed about is that the belly Benedict I ordered was mostly sweet potato and very little egg. Other than that, the dishes my family ordered were pretty good: veggie omelette, another omelette (pardon me, I forgot its name), and Challah French Toast. The portion look a bit small at first, but it was pretty fulfilling. More...
We received excellent service, and enjoyed the unique and delicious brunch. We expected to wait for a long while, given that we went on a Saturday around noon, but we were seated after about 5 minutes. The place is busy, but for good reason. We will definitely return, if we find ourselves in the area. More...
Great food, great coffee.
A great place for lunch. Friendly people, good food, and good service. I recommend this place for lunch.
Yummy southern brunch and sandwiches with a modern twist.
Food was awesome. Eggs are always perfectly cooked and exceptionally delicious. Can't go wrong here.
Delicious breakfast! Great tea selection too.
Great breakfast! No wait weekdays but weekends are packed.
Great food great service
The coolest atmosphere. Excellent food and service.
Nice Chicken salad sandwiches!
Sun in My Belly hosted our rehearsal dinner. They created a great atmosphere that was unique and fun for our guests to experience. We had breakfast for dinner and we were told by many guests that it was the best rehearsal dinner food they had. They were excellent and professional. I'd recommend them to anyone to try for simply a meal or hosting an event. More...
Great food ..I'm from utah an I love it!!!
Great atmosphere. Got the Scrambled Egg panini with potatoes - excellent choice. Sad they ran out of their kombucha but it's understandable. Would recommend for a nice brunch outing. Can get crowded so choose times that aren't as busy because it can get loud. More...
Maybe the warmth in your belly is from the sun, but it is most likely the great dishes, nice atmosphere and friendly service they provide. They serve a variety of sandwiches, salads and breakfast dishes that are all outstanding. Be sure to try some of their bakery desserts (this time I had an excellent peppermint cheese cake square). Dine outside in warmer weather. Parking could be a minor issue At peak times, but worth the short walk if necessary. More...
Challah honied ricotta french toast was amazing. Loved it!
Great food and atmosphere was outstanding for our group of 15.
Good food and polite staff. An excellent place for breakfast if you can get a seat. Plan for a 30 minute wait on weekends.
Food is excellent and fast. Great friendly service
This place was a sweet experience. Loved their mini bar and their service was full of smiles. I went on a Saturday morning in the middle of lunch and only waited about 25-30 minutes!
Great atmosphere and loved the fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese omelet. Hubby had the shrimp and grits but shrimp slightly over cooked.
Been here on three separate occasions and I’ve loved it each time! The dishes are pretty filling and the ambiance is always nice. The lavender biscuit is a unique side item, but I’m not sure I taste much of the lavender aspect of it (I like it regardless!). Definitely a brunch spot worth visiting!!! More...
Oh my goodness! Cant stop telling everyone about this place. This will always be a go too.
Meatloaf sandwich sounded interesting so I took a risk and it was delicious!! Highly recommend. Bloody Mary was not my favorite, though. Service was terrible, waiter was not attentive and food took forever to come out. We watched many other tables around us get their food before our table did. Would only be back for the food. More...
Great off the beaten path spot! Highly recommend it! Made me forget about the other place closing on the main drag!!! WHO needs Thumbs when I got Sun in My Belly!
Food was good, atmosphere was nice, and the staff were very kind and helpful. I will return soon.
Sun in My Belly did such an amazing job catering my wedding!! I am such a big foodie and it was very important to me that we not only have pretty dishes, but that we had yummy ones that everybody would love. Leading up to everything, Marissa, Michelle, and Max were always super responsive and helpful. When we met with Marissa and Michelle, both were SO personable and were so accommodating when I had specific things I did and did not want, and even let me create a vegan entree for my guests (that everybody said was SO good!!). Everything came out perfectly and we had so many compliments!! I highly recommend SIMB! :) More...
I understand that as a waitress you need to check on your tables, parties, etc., but you should also learn when and how to intervene. The food was delicious, atmosphere relaxed. I didn't care for the old wooden chairs with the rinky dink seats but I'm so glad I lost 60lbs in the last year or I may have been very uncomfortable. More...
Wonderful food and always great service. It can get busy at times, but open for breakfast during the week. That's the best time to go. Anything with their pimento cheese on it is the best! More...
We are from out of town and stayed at a home that was a 5 minute walk from this place. We absolutely enjoyed it all. The challah french toast was awesome. My husband had the shrimp and grits; they were both so good we couldn't decide which was better. Also, our waiter was spot on. He was a good looking guy with dark, curly hair. We will be back! More...
Great service. The food was very pretty. Excellent brunch spot.
Good food! Great atmosphere!
I had brunch on Saturday afternoon around 130 and waited about 3 minutes for a table. I ordered a latte and the breakfast panini with egg whites. The latte was smooth and delicious. The panini and potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. The potatoes were soft and seasoned just right and the eggs in the panini were a lot. I will return to SIMB. More...
Oh so good! The food is amazing and it's a neat spot
Great brunch spot! Love the food and atmosphere! Service a little slow but it was a busy Sunday!
Service was as prompt and as exceptional as the food. I had a Croque Madame composed of two toasted slices of bread around perfectly fried ham, a satisfyingly thick slice of gruyere cheese, a slightly basic bechamel cream, all underneath two properly fried eggs that bled yolk with the pop of a fork. Their hazelnut latte was also splendid bittersweet beverage. My only complaint would be the location. Such a cozy and inviting place unfortunately rests alongside a busy road with limited parking (I had to park at the fitness center next door) and right under the Marta tracks that rattled our utensils with each passing cart that whizzed by like clockwork. So, if you're a fan of great food, service and noise pollution, then this is your place. If the latter is an issue, sit inside. 4/5 More...
I really enjoyed it! The little potatoes were my favorite :-)
I went for the food, and stayed for it! Excellent brunch that I had with my two friends. We ordered the Kirkwood off the menu and I swear I could eat that every time and not get tired. The portions were just the right amount that filled me up. The food service was prompt and fast along side a lovely waitress who was extremely delightful in taking our orders. The ambiance was pleasant and quite contrasting to the the surroundings that it was located at. comfy elegance meets rustic is where Sun in my belly is at in its aesthetic sense. More...
Came here after making the mistake of going to Flying Biscuit first. Best decision ever. The food was great and the service was even better. The only downside was that the coffee. It tasted burnt. But our server, Johnathan, was awesome. It was worth the drive. More...
They should call the bagel and salmon... build your own or deconstructed. Anyway was not looking to make my own breakfast but the ingredients were excellent.
Went here after having a biscuit crash nearby, and the panini was great as was the hashed potatoes, the biscuit was hard and the coffee was burnt, but the fruit syrup for the biscuit was good. They didn't have sugar free syrup either. Waiter Jonathan was awesome. More...
The food was amazing, can't wait till my next visit!
Great Service! Awesome Brunch!! Will be back very soon
We were here for a Rehearsal Brunch. The food, decor, and service were impeccable.
Amazing brunch -- champagne cocktails for the win!
This place actually did something unheard of in this day and age: They made a mistake and actually cared to make it better.I ordered their delicious French toast minus the ricotta. The order came a few minutes later, flooded with ricotta. I mention this to the server who immediately and profusely apologizes. She immediately offered me a biscuit and jam to snack on, both while my wife was eating and while I waited for my order to be correctly made.Incredibly thoughtful and the biscuit was heavenly. When my French toast arrived, it was literally some of the best I've ever had.True service. True empathy. Love this place and can't wait to return! More...
When we had our tasting with Sun in my Belly, we both knew instantly we loved their food and wanted to hire them! We signed them the day of our tasting. They were very organized, responsive and professional. They knew our venue better than the venue manager did! Our food was phenomenal. I've had several wedding guests tell me it was the best wedding food they ever had. I highly recommend them! I’m still craving their wild mushroom ravioli + truffle mushrooms + brown butter sauce. Great food, our server was fantastic.
Fantastic breakfast and service
Always a great brunch, higy recommended!
My friend and I decided to eat here for the delicious-looking eggs Benedict featured on @atlbucketlist’s instagram. More than likely was the reason they were so insanely busy, but is to be expected. We had a 35 minute wait, not terrible for a popular place, and they sent us a text and called our name when our table was ready (nice feature). We had a clarifying moment when I asked for tea, which I requested unsweet (“so you wanted that unsweet, right?”) and I still received sweet. It was a while before she was back to make the correction. Maybe not her fault— perhaps someone brewed or poured sweet in the unsweet carafe ♀️We ordered almost immediately with our server who was very friendly and answered all my questions. Our Benedicts took THIRTY MINUTES. I asked the expo who brought our food out what is the average time it takes on this dish and she was unapologetic about the wait— “we’re really busy. The kitchen is really backed up.” Unfortunately you’re not allowed to be nonchalant about a wait that long for a seemingly basic dish. I didn’t say anything else but she could have been at least sympathetic that we were very hungry.I’ve worked in food and beverage almost my entire professional life and I’m continually amazed at the number of businesses who defend poor service or long wait times before apologizing for the inconvenience. Again, obviously they were busy, but 30 minutes for an eggs Benedict seems unnecessary. Maybe they don’t pay attention to or have a relationship with @atlbucketlist and they simply didn’t know they’d be overwhelmed with eggs benny orders. In either case, she could have at least apologized. Our server was obviously busy too, we didn’t see her for much of our meal. She offered me a tea to go at the end, which was very much appreciated, but she forgot and we waited another 10 minutes for her to reappear and, after I made eye contact and smiled, she remembered. Couldn’t tell if she was just totally slammed with tables or not a great multitasker. In a restaurant this busy, hope the management can recognize and offer her a hand or not overwhelm her with tables.I’ll try to come again on a Sunday around 1 PM when the brunch crowd seems to die down. The other menu items looked fantastic, great ambience, and our meal was delicious. I could have eaten at least 3 more lavender biscuits and their house made jam is amazing! Highly recommend. More...
