Had a fabulous Christmas lunch out with my son! Everything was wonderful … food, service, atmosphere. Especially loved that they had a special menu as well as their regular menu. The food was very good and the atmosphere was quiet enough for the number of people that were there. The only issue was the service. Note that this was during dinner on Christmas. It took two hours to get to dessert and many that arrived with us or after us finished before we did. The waiter forgot our salads, then had to have the steaks re-queued because they were ready before we had our salad. We ordered filets, 8 oz medium and 12 oz medium rare. When they came, the 8 oz was well less than medium, so it was sent back for another minute or so on the grill. When it came back, it was overdone and tough. My 12 oz one turned out to be medium. Evidently the orders were reversed. Additionally, the Caesar salad had to much dressing. Thanksgiving diner - was more crowded than expected for a late reservation. Wait was 40 minutes past our reservation time, but understandable. Staff was hustling but the kitchen was a little slow. We ordered the Sure Thing special for $46/each that came with soup or a salad, steak, Salmon or something else. My husband ordered the steak which was bland and my Salmon was as thin paper! It also came with dessert so I had the cheese cake and my husband had the key lime pie, worse desserts we ever had! Other than that, the oysters and wine were good. LONG REVIEW-This was my first time going to Sullivan's. Upon arrival, There was no hostess to greet us. Another staff did assist us and went to get the hostess after about 5 minutes of just standing there. We were seated and it took about 8-10 minutes before anyone came to serve us. This was after I asked one of the servers who poured the water if he could assist in finding us a server. The server acknowledged there was a mix up and was apologetic. The food was great except for the Brussels sprouts and the steak, which was disappointing considering this is a steakhouse. I ordered the cow boy cut rib-eye and I'm not sure if it was the dry rub or what it was that made the steak less appealing. I requested it cooked medium. The calamari was the best I've ever had and the sides were also great sharing size. There were other hiccups with our service including forgetting to bring out certain food and requested condiments. She was so apologetic and asked the manager to provide us with additional accommodations for all the issues we experienced. I would return but would try something other than steak or a different cut. The wait staff was very attentive without being a nuisance. The calamari is some of the best I’ve ever had and our meals were delicious.
