If you are a serious music creator in the South Bay looking for a professional and affordable recording studio capable of producing a polished product, with the most personable approach, Studio 637 is THE studio to work with.

I've been independently writing, performing and recording original music for years and after moving to LA, I wanted to create a project/album that was commercially competitive for TV/film placements while staying within my budget. I did my research and Studio 637 was the first (and last) studio I looked at.

Since July 2015, Studio 637 has become much more than just a place to record at for me. The entire crew here has become family. I really don't want to share them but what they do and who they are is too valuable not to.

Our project's team included Kevin (producer/manger of the studio), Alex (lead engineer), Claire and Dave (assistant engineers) with occasional visits from the rest of the crew, including the owner, Chuck. When it comes time to work, be ready to work. When it comes time to take a break, be ready to laugh a lot. I would recommend that if you have a musical project in mind, have it fleshed out as much as possible and have a decent understanding of where you want to go with it before approaching the studio. From there, expect to work as a team to collectively find the best path for your music (no ego, drama, etc.).

The five song EP we made, Cold Coffee revolved around very emotional and heavy themes. No matter what kind of day I was having prior to being in the studio, I always left in a better place. Among the keyboards, drums, bass and vocals, we also recorded a live quartet for our project with the team delivering attention to detail to every step of the process. They won't say it's complete until you're 100% happy with it. They will work with your budget and work hard with you to achieve your musical vision.

Keep in mind that it's a recording studio in Hermosa Beach. You will see sand and surfboards on occasion with a consistent laid-back atmosphere. Good vibes only! My group has been recording our debut album here and have nothing but great things to say. The studio features a great sounding live room which we've tracked drums and their vintage Rhodes keyboard in. A top-notch soundproof vocal booth, and a wonderful control room. The studio has some great outboard gear, microphones, and not one but two great sounding house drum sets.

This studio is on point! Look no further. This is what you want and they have everything you may need. I loved recording an audio book here. Place has a very chill, yet still professional vibe that helps you relax into your creativity and art to " make the magic happen," as the saying goes...and it's true here. The studio was always clean and comfortable. The staff really is your best team mates to make your project come alive from start to finish. They met all my needs, had excellent communication and delivered high quality. Alex was amazing! Very fast, efficient, and goes the extra mile. Claire is delightful and keeps the ball rolling so you are always in the know. Can't say enough great things about the people and the work they do here. Love this place!  I have loved it for years and it has only gotten better.  The addition of Claire Bear as CEO of the studio was a fabulous move and I look forward to working with her and her team at every opportunity.    See you guys again soon.

I met with Kevin and Cole to see if they could meet my video needs. They were great!! We got twice as much done in the time frame I thought we would. My songwriting collaborator Jeff Baker and I recently finished a four-song EP of original music at Studio 637. We were very impressed throughout the project by the professionalism, in-depth knowledge, encouragement and positivity of the studio staff: in-house producer Kevin, audio engineer Alex and all of the crew. They supported our songs, production ideas and arrangements from the beginning to the end of the process. The studio's recording, mixing and mastering of our songs is of the highest caliber. The studio's large live room can be arranged to suit a wide variety of recording needs, and the room has a spectacular sound. They have numerous contacts for session musicians if that's something you need. The studio's office manager Claire made it easy to schedule our sessions and always had a friendly, upbeat attitude and a smile. I strongly encourage any artist/songwriter reading this review to take a tour and meet the staff. They will make you feel right at home. Affordable and flexible I had a project that needed completing fairly quickly. As soon as I contacted Studio 637 they immediately got back to me. They asked how fast I needed it... I said yesterday… They said come in this evening we will stay for you. They are the type of studio that’s willing to go the extra distance to help your project succeed.Not only did they stay but they also helped coach me through making my recording sound as professional as possible. They have the highest quality equipment which means they care about the end result for their clients.When I needed to re-record a couple items they totally fit me in and stayed late again. This studio is one of the best I've ever been to. The team here got me out of a Jam many times. Not only do they get things done super fast for voiceover, they have the patience to make each recording a polished professional recording. When clients change their minds at the end of s project and you need to Re-record this is the studio you need. These guys totally stayed late and stayed as long as needed to make sure the voiceovers were exactly what we wanted. The team also helped us polish them for maximum professional sound quality. When I contacted Studio 637 to help me with my family slideshow project. I was delighted by their excellent customer service. Their Manager Kevin was very helpful. He answered all of my questions and referred me to their video department. He assured me that my project was in great hands! At first I wasn't sure if they would have the time, will-how, or patience to deal with my couple hundred family photos but Cole was very professional and polite the entire time. I've gone to a few events here. Every time the atmosphere has been awesome with cool people and a very professional setting. Seeing musicians you've paid big money for in the past to attend there shows and see them hanging out like locals at the studio was another awesome experience.
