We went December 14th for a graduation and had no clue just how close we are to EVERYTHING! I travel often with Hilton and used to work with them so I know the hotel and their offerings well. Ashly and her team were nothing short of phenomenal! Not only did they do their jobs well but they went beyond. My hubby and the kids were all very grateful and they are not easy to impress. We travel to Savannah a good bit and I can promise you we will never stay anywhere else. Service from front desk to valet service is the best anywhere. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and enjoy your stay. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Great location and lovely room. The amenities were perfect and so were the front desk staff. I really enjoyed my stay I will say just one thing and it is not necessarily just the Doubletree that seem to have this issue. I chose to opt out of the fresh towels etc., every day ( I don't do that at home ,so why waste resources whilst away ) However ,there always seems to be a lack of co-ordination /communication with housekeeping.I always hang my towels and mat to dry on the racks ( because ,according to the cards left on your pillow or desk , if they are left on the floor or anywhere else they will be changed )So imagine my surprise when they still changed them ,I believe three out of the four nights I stayed there. The worst part was ,that even though I had left a "do not disturb" sign on the door after "opting out" ,housekeeping still went in and changed everything ,including removing personal food and drink from the fridge. Come on guys , I am talking to all hotels here ,make sure that ALL of your staff understand completely what preserving ,not wasting resources is all about. Nevertheless ,thank you to Doubletree front desk ,they rectified the issue I had and none of it spoilt my stay there. I would certainly stay there again. More...

Perfect location, walk to all major sites, shopping and restaurants. Suggest you ask for a room in the back as Bay St is a main truck route through the city. Comfortable bed, took me 2 nights to figure out the heat system. Staff is very pleasant.Good breakfast, buffet for large eaters and you can also order a la carte. Coffee is rich and hot. We had a wonderful stay. We are diamond members and didn’t get the usual upgrade, but our king size room at the end of the hallway was perfect. We had windows on two walls which let in tons of light. The sound machine was much appreciated to drown out the traffic outside. Breakfast buffet was included with our diamond membership and was a perfect start to the day. This property is in a great location in the historic district of Savannah. I stayed here for five night during a convention, and although I didn't get to see too much of town, there is a great district with restaurants, bars, shops, and many other attractions within walking distance. It's worth it to venture out of the hotel and enjoy the eateries and shops that are less than ten minutes away.||||The hotel itself looks like an older building, however inside appears to have been kept up nicely. You won't find a huge amount of space in the public areas, but the rooms are of very good sized and look fairly modern. My room had two queen beds, a nicely sized bathroom and shower, as well as an easy chair and large desk with pull out table - perfect for getting some work done.||||The staff and service were excellent throughout. My room was very cleaned and kept up throughout the stay. I utilized their small self service laundry and restaurant. The only complaint I have about the hotel was their food. At breakfast and for one dinner the food seemed of medium quality and the staff was disinterested at times, but very responsive if I directly asked for something. There was just a lack of attention to detail -I used room service and was told they were out of lettuce for a salad (!) and two different mornings in the buffet I could feel dried on food on the dishes. ||||I noted some other reviewers talking about noise in the rooms. I faced the street and for sure noticed it, some nights worse than others. The hotel is in a high traffic and high activity area. However, the rooms all had very good blackout curtains, a white noise machine, and provided ear plugs. I only put the noise machine on low and couldn't hear anything, so I would not let that be an issue to staying here.||||I recommend staying at this hotel, but taking advantage of the area around the hotel for meals. We enjoyed two nights at this hotel on a weekend in late October. It was nicely positioned just on the inner edge of the historic district, which allowed us the convenience of walking to all the sites of Savannah, but it was just far enough to avoid late night noise from the City Market. ||Gold and diamond members are treated to a nice complimentary breakfast each morning. I’m not sure if they differ, but for diamond we could opt to get the breakfast buffet (which also includes made-to-order eggs/omelets and french toast) or one of the a la carte options (see pic of the menu). Coffee and juice is also complimentary, though the bottomless mimosas will be charged a “whopping” $3 plus tax. Mimosas were wonderful and strong. ||The room was a good size, equipped with a mini fridge, and the A/C worked well (I am sure it’s much appreciated in the summer months), though it was just a bit loud for us so we slept with it off. The valet parking and front desk staff members were very friendly and welcoming, especially Ashley. The cookies at check-in (actually, you can request them any time) are delicious and a nice touch. It’s very close to the City Market and the river. Forsyth Park is a nice mile-long stroll through beautiful live oak lined streets and squares. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. ||Parking Tip: We opted for the valet parking (no option for onsite self parking) at $32 a night including in/out privileges, but if you don’t want to pay that much we saw so many car parks at lower rates like $15-$20 in the immediate vicinity (a couple surrounding the hotel), but you’d have to check if in/out privileges are included.||Room Tip: Check-in using the Hilton app (must be honors member) and try to select a room on the river side of the hotel. There is a building between the hotel and the river, but if you can get on the 5th or 6th floor, you can get a great view of the bridge and enjoy the view of the huge container ships that frequently pass underneath. There was a bit of street traffic noise on that side, but it was minimal in our opinion. The view from room 628 was wonderful (see pics). More...

When I go to Savannah with friends for nighttime concerts, we prefer to stay overnight. The Doubletree is a great place for that. It’s pricey, but in a great location and the hotel is lovely. The staff are most accommodating, the property has been spruced up recently, beds are comfy and it’s well worth the price, all told. We can walk in the historic district and eat at really good restaurants and it’s within walking distance of the Civic Center, where many of the concerts are held. I highly recommend it. More...
