I used the Spa 23 camp this summer and my kids loved it.  More importantly, I had a personal situation arise and the camp staff including Danae and Caitlin went out of there way to accommodate me.  I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and the staff with regard to the kids summer camp.  I will definitely be sending my children there next summer, I highly recommend it. Our 4 yr old was previously attending another swim school for over a year and didn’t learn anything over that period of time. Frustrated, we were eager to try another swim school and came across Spa 23. The skills of the instructors here are outstanding. They are full time instructors dedicated to teaching swimming. Within two months our daughter was able to swim on her own and accomplished what the other school couldn’t achieve in a year. We are extremely happy with our instructor Brianne. Huge fan of this gym! I love that it’s got everything I could possibly want in a gym, including amazing childcare. Billy at the front desk always greets me by name whenever I come in for my workout — and I think that’s so nice and welcoming! Jenna has always been wonderful with whatever I need since I signed up, and Sue guided me down the right path for swim lessons for my 5 year old (which has been a WONDERFUL experience so far with swim instructor Brianne)! I have been a member of the Spa for over 4 years. It is the only gym I will ever workout in or bring my kids to. Their trainers are so knowledgeable and helpful. The childcare is phenomenal. Kathy goes above and beyond from rocking my crying baby to painting my daughters nails. Childcare room is always SPOTLESS and they do a great job keeping the kids happy. I was referred here by a friend about 6 months ago. The place is huge and has something for eveyone. Cross Fit for the cross fit people, a large weight room for strength training, a whole floor of cardio equipment and rooms, child care and spa etc. In addition a huge selling point for me was the indoor pool and hot tub and steam and dry sauna which I like to use after workouts. I joined 2 weeks ago and I love it. I’ve been to almost every gym in the wayne area and this one is by far my favorite. The yoga studio is so relaxing and the instructors are knowledgeable. Yes I would recommend Spa 23. I am not a gym person but I really like the assortment of choices that they have to choose from. Anywhere from yoga to Zumba and I love both. I joined Spa 23 in the fall through a trial promotion, and I really enjoyed the staff friendliness, location, and facility right away. All around pros / things I like:Large parking lotPersonal training staff is very friendly Pure massage once a month is great Getting free personal training sessions (not just 1) with new membershipThe snack bar / açaí bowls are great Not really super busy even though facility is small Separate room for cardio machines and weight machines and classes My only complaint would be that it is expensive, but I think the price makes the facility clean, quaint, and personalized. The staff is responsive to concerns and needs, and I think that is something I haven't found at other gyms. Plus, it has a boutique vibe with the way rooms are separate and semi private. I hate big gyms where everything is in one flat room and all the cardio people have no choice but to stare at you doing anything on mats or weights. The pure massages have been excellent each month. Spa23 is a wonderful place to workout. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. From the moment you walk in you feel like you're part of the action. There are so many different classes you can take, the pool is clean and a lot of fun.The bathrooms and locker rooms are clean and well-stocked.The sauna and the jacuzzi are a great way to relax after a hard workout.Once you're done with your work out you can visit the juice bar offers great food and drink.I would highly recommend the spot anyone who enjoys a hard workout and fun at the same time. My review on Spa 23 is about their youth swim classes, that I attend with my 5 year old son. The lessons are really good and so are the instructors. They are extremely knowledgeable and they push the children to learn each skill. I used to do NYSC in butler and I have seen a huge improvement in my son's swimming now that he's at Spa23 . He is swimming the length of the pool only after 6 lessons.  It's become more of a challenge for him and he loves it. Also, the kids are tested on the skills learned and moved up levels as they achieve those skills in order for them to keep them learning and motivated. For group classes, the maximum amount of children is 8 with 2 instructors teaching. The instructors are good at keeping the kids engaged and provide structure as they take turns.The pool usually has multiple instructors, teaching multiple classes, making the bench area packed with parents. A lot of parents like to watch their young ones and even record. There should be more pool side seating. If you don't watch your child, plenty of seating is available right outside the pool next to a snack and shake area. They offer family changing rooms, that are always neat and tidy. There classes are offered at different times with multiple options so it makes it convenient as a parent, however no make up classes are available if you miss a class, instead you are provided with a voucher for family swim time that you can use to practice the skills learned.Overall Spa23 as a gym looks like it has a lot to offer. I've seen a CrossFit section, racket ball court, plenty of machines and equipment to use. With 24 hour access is sounds pretty good but I'm sure you have to pay for all that. So don't expect your normal Retro Fitness membership fees. More...
