SUMMARY: Soulmind Studios always exceeds our expectations esp when it comes to customer service! Two more projects done, check out the pics of our new custom planter and refurbished outdoor benches! BACKGROUNDA friend of ours who we met on Yelp referred us to Soulmind a year ago and they've done some great work for us. Our latest projects: a custom sized planter and wood bench slats for some Berkeley Iron benches and side tables. PLANTERWe have a space on our porch between two brick columns that desperately needed something in between to fill the void. Since we receive packages from time to time, what if we put a taller planter in that space that would not only beautify the space, but also hide any packages from porch pirates? Hence the planter idea was born. After taking measurements, we discussed the project with Erik and he gave us some ideas. I was thinking of something else but his design not only looks a lot bette than what I was thinking, but also it was easy to manufacture (thus saving us costs and assembly time).  For this project unlike others, he drilled the pilot holes and even provided us the construction screws. How's that for service!We assembled the planter together using wood glue, screws, and lined it with a liner. Looks really nice on our porch!BERKELEY IRON BENCHES and SIDE TABLESThe previous home owner didn't want to haul these benches as part of her move, so I saw the value in keeping them so we asked her to leave them for us. I disassembled one be happy and provided Erik and crew the dimensions. While it took some time to make as our order was back in their queue, the results were outstanding. We had some pieces that required a round over which we had to return to get done, but they got done without any fuss or extra charge. They used a marine grade wood and stained and sealed it to perfection. We're really happy. Each bench though takes a lot of work as we have to disassemble each bench, refurb and de-rust the hardware, clean, prime, and then paint each metal frame piece. Thus we only have one done so far. But check out the before and after pics. We are extremely happy with the results and we will save hundreds of dollars by taking the time to refurb these benches vs buying new ones. THANKS SOULMIND! I worked with Erik at SoulMind Studios to have a Black Rock City map of my own design lasered onto 50x Japanese Yen last August to give away as gifts.  It was a really great experience all around!I had inquired around to several laser etching shops in the area, and either they could not do what I was looking for or they were too expensive.  Erik proposed a very economical solution to laser print on the surface of the coins.  Actual laser etching, as I found out, would be prohibitively expensive for the volume of coins I had.Erik was just a pleasure to work with; responsive and earnestly interested in making my project a success despite a time crunch to get all 50 pieces done.  Plus, the quality of the print was outstanding, particularly for the incredible cost per piece.    Now several months on, those coins are cherished by many friends and the laser print has lasted - I wear mine literally every day on a necklace.If you're looking to create some unique gifts, especially in volume for Burning Man, I would highly recommend SoulMind Studios.  Everyone I met there was really friendly, and some of them are fellow Burners. This review is long overdue, but this place is so amazing I could not forget about them. I was lucky enough to get referred to them through a number of different people. I got to work with Eric who helped us make these beautiful wooden signs exactly the way we wanted. He perfected the color, design, and size. He was very easy to work with and was very flexible in when I could pick them up as I worked really long hours as the commute from SF is quite painfully long. When I went inside he kindly gave me a tour to show me and the hubs all the neat machinery and projects they were working on from basic signs, to nic nacks, to full on flower/moss boards. It was a neat experience and it definitely made me see the time and effort Eric and his team put into each and every project. I highly recommend SoulMindStudios: we needed an engraved wooden sign for our SF Victorian (those "Built in 1899" signs) that'd fit the style and colors of the house. The end result is phenomenal and now the envy of the whole neighborhood. So as a Chef, mid event plan, I had an emergency need to source rapidly... getting on a plane in the morning. I came over to Soul Mind spoke with Erik, took a tour. ... the spot it is absolutely fabulous! Artist live here.  It took him less than 20 minutes to do something right around the corner from my house that if I had outsource  that it would have taken excess of three weeks!  These people Rock! Erik's craftsmanship is impeccable. We worked with him to make custom wooden stickers for our wedding, and they came out perfectly. I really appreciate that Erik is a one-stop shop when it comes to both design and production, so he can see a project through from design to final product and can whip up prototypes to make sure that you're getting exactly what you're looking for. Leta start with....i dont write reviews. I think ive writtem maybe 3 ever in my life. But these gentlemen do such great work, with amazing detail, and custom made to whatever specifications needed. ...that I simply had to give them props. It's timely, and if something changes, they're communicative with you about it so you know what to expect when. They're insanely reasonably priced for the level of craftsmanship I receive, and they've earned their 5 stars for sure.When I wanted custom made ornaments for my Xmas tree, Erik was on top of helping me pick out and even design them. Since then I've also been in touch with him for custom stickers for a few events I work with, as well as possibly making easy to use, lightweight tables that I could bring camping or to events.Any idea I have is considered, discussed, designed and then implemented to my desires. Erik is super responsive and amazingly flexible.  If you just need a piece of signage done - he can handle it no problem.  They can do thin sheets of metal, acrylic, wood, and tons of other stuff .  So far, I've only worked with him on the first three though.Erik also has a ton of experience working with a variety of artists so if you have a piece in mind, go talk to him about it and I'm sure he can help you make it happen.  The stuff they do is incredible!
