Go for the food and drinks ! Appetizers, entrees and drinks were all delicious. My mom is a picky eater especially since she’s a seasoned Caribbean cook and literally nothing disappointed her ! She even fell in love with the sorrel cocktail and she’s not a drinker by any means. Visited here on my last day in NYC on Saturday 13th July group of 6 people I was impressed with the music albeit a bit loud for 1 'O clock in the afternoon. We were looking forward to having the calamari that was highly recommend, but it wasn't on the menu and when we asked if there was any chance of ordering was told no. The portions for the appetizers were small (had codfish fritters, which was rolled up in a ball) during brunch. The chicken and waffles was on point though and the music was lit! Ive been to Solomon.... about 5 times and I dont know if there is a new chef in the kitchen but the food didnt taste too appealing, it was very bland. I was on a date and he was disappointed as well, being that I recommended this place i was a little embarrassed. The food is normally flavorful and delicious. Probably was a off night. I would have gave the service 5 stars but the hostess seen me standing there and didnt say anything to me until I said something to her. I know she was doing something..but She could have said I'll be with you in a few minutes. The coat check woman checked me in for reservations and my waitress came to my party and greeted us while we where waiting to be seated. By the way she was an excellent waitress.
