Close your eyes and imagine how the boxing greats of yesteryear trained, you’ve seen the movies and the documentaries. Now open your eyes and get your butt to Solbox because that experience and that classic boxing training still exists and you don’t have to go to NY or LA for it. The trainers are great and will push your limits and if you’re a beginner as I am, they are patient and teach you the right way! Check them out you won’t regret it. More...

This gym is the best!

If it were possible rate it more than 5 stars, I would. I'm not a fan of big gyms, so this one is perfect for me and for anyone who appreciates something on a smaller scale. Large gyms can be intimidating and crowded and annoying for many reasons. But here, the coaches and the members/visitors are, as a whole, very welcoming and friendly.

I started coming here about a year and a half ago knowing absolutely nothing about boxing. I eventually joined the gym because I loved the challenge. Djinji was very patient with me and is always patient with everyone he teaches. He really is the best coach and is passionate about his craft. And it shows. In retrospect, comparing where I started to where I am now in terms of my boxing knowledge and skills and strength in general, I know it was a great decision to sign up for the membership.

The classes focused solely on fitness are also a great means to build strength and stamina, and they also provide a foundation for the sport of boxing, which requires both of these things. So balancing both the boxing and the fitness classes is a great choice. The music is always on point, and the general vibe and atmosphere is always one that anyone can enjoy and appreciate. The walls are covered in artwork in the form of graffiti and drawings, and you can feel the laid-back energy as soon as you walk in. There's no need to ever feel timid; you'll always be comfortable, and you'll always fit right in.

I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to learn a new skill (boxing) or who simply wants to build his/her fitness ability. At first, it may be a little tough to get into the groove of things if you're just starting up, but once you're in a rhythm, it's even harder to get out of it.

Either way, the coaches are always ready and waiting to work with you and are interested in you individually. They know what your strengths and weaknesses are and push you until you are steadily improving. The classes are usually high-intensity, but the dynamics of them always vary; you'll never take a class that is identical to another.

With that being said, the coaches are really cool people and are not condescending in the least. They care about what they do and are even more concerned about you reaching your goals. There's nothing wrong with starting from the bottom and working your way up. So as frustrated and as lost as you may feel in the beginning, don't give up. Most of all, it's fun and is always a good time. If you want to get in shape, give SolBox a try!
